    I’m not sure if a canoo trip would interest you guys but the French river in Ontario canada is absolutely beautiful i think you guys would enjoy it and it would make for a great video.

    Was this the end of February by chance? I was out there the 26th and 27th iirc. Quite a wild and beautiful weekend of weather that was.

    • @WildlandExplorer
      @WildlandExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was the 24th-26th if memory is right. We knew about the impending weather going in. Snow was still a big surprise. Like, I’ve seen snow in desert above 3000’ before but not like that!

      @@WildlandExplorer That was an awesome weekend to be up there. You likely crossed paths with my buddy in marsh valley. Lowest la barge looks like a jungle and an adventure! Good video man!

    • @WildlandExplorer
      @WildlandExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did come across a guy who was camped out in Marsh. I stopped and was like, "Dave, you hear something?". Couple seconds later the guy camped out was like "I'm a bear rawr!" lol good chuckle out of everyone. Try that lowest labarge route sometime, it's right in the slot of wild adventure without anything particularly risky, really fun.

      @@WildlandExplorer Hah, that was me, DMN's buddy. Like your videos, if I had known it was you I would've said hello instead of just pretending to be a bear! You guys must have camped real close to where I was. Was a beautiful morning to wake up to! I hiked up to Peralta via Dutchman and the snow and water were just crazy special

    • @WildlandExplorer
      @WildlandExplorer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's really not possible at the moment to escape the heat anywhere lol. Eventually you will see I've done some trips in HOT weather this summer. I've been taking a short break from editing to focus on the personal life but I haven't stopped filming trips. I have like 3 or 4 videos queued in the editing pipe.

      @@WildlandExplorer totally!! The hike out the last day was wild, too! Still can't believe we got snow, and how wet it was in the Supes! Such a beautiful transition from all the fire devastation, it was amazing to the see mountains alive again and all the water flowing. Epic winter trip!

    I just found your videos and I have to say you're one of the top backpacking content creators out there in my book. Thanks for sharing all these amazing places with us. I hope you put more videos out there. Especially since I'm in AZ and it looks like your a AZ local too.

      Thanks, you're too kind! I will eventually upload more videos. I have shifted priorities and taken time off from editing, but recently I've been getting back to it. I could release videos much faster but I take my time with color grading, as I want them to stand the test of time.

      I am slowly making inroads editing 4 videos. I had a couple big trips fall through this summer, so my '23 video year is not as prolific. Hoping that autumn picks up! I feel like canyon country in october is overdue.

      Still alive. Just taking a sabbatical from videos for a while. Hiking around with a camera really slows you down out there and I don't have as much time for editing lately. I am pivoting toward more simple videos, maybe using only a GoPro to be able to get the footage without slowing down and easier editing.

    • @WildlandExplorer

      I'm still alive I just decided to take a hiatus from video editing for a while. At the level I'm at it's easy to get burned out as working with multi-cameras means you have competing white balance, sharpness, saturation to deal with; and my average hike speed when filming is about 1.5mph which makes hiking goals difficult to attain. My goal is to begin uploading videos again before the winter is over.

    • @dmn3773
      @dmn3773 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@WildlandExplorer Great to know you're well. Completely understand; I've recorded some of my hikes, and the process isn't always easy or enjoyable. Editing all the footage afterward is time-consuming-typically taking several days for me. Always admired the effort invested in these endeavors. Excited for any future content on the channel.

      I appreciate the concern! This year has not gone to plan, several big trips canceled because of wildfires, illness, injuries. but I do have 3 or 4 videos in the pipe right now. I hope this winter and beyond goes better. Thanks!
