I doubt you would need a tune if you were just adding the pipes as it won’t make a drastic difference. Couple the pipes with a high flow air intake and you should do the tune.
Hey Saint , just found your channel, & I just got a 21 FatBoy , looking forward to more of your videos as I learn more about my bike ! 1 question, is the Cat. Converter in the Stock Slip ons ? If so , did that make a big difference in heat or power ?
To be honest I never rode the bike with the stock exhaust. As soon as I got the bike delivered it went straight into the garage and I changed the exhaust. But from other bikes I’ve had, I never noticed a heat difference. But there was a bit of a power difference as the exhaust breathes better without the Cat in the way.
It should not affect the tune. I have a stage one with no issue and I’ve also ran straight pipes with no issues in the past. It wouldn’t be such a huge change that you would have to retune.
Like your videos. Helpful. Thanks. I'm on the brink of buying a 2021 Fat Boy and I'm not comfortable with the exhaust situation. Are you using the V&H slip-ons because Harley Davidson doesn't have the fuel control module to let you use anything else? My dealer told me I only have a few pipes that I can use at this time. I feel that the Fat Boy needs some bad-ass sounding pipes and the few that are usable at this time don't cut it.
I had Vance & Hines slash cut slip-ons on my previous Fatboy and I wanted something different so I went with the eliminators. I chose them just based on research as I liked the sound. It didn’t have anything to do with Harley Davidson. I also looked at V&H short and long shots. But I agree, a Fatboy needs those big sounding pipes!
@@canadiansa1nt309 Interesting because Harley says you are restricted to what exhaust system you can use since they have not developed a fuel module yet.
If I had my way they still could be a little louder. I could pull the baffles out but I don’t want to lose the low rumble sound. If I had it to do over, I would look at completely new pipes rather than just slip-ons. I always liked the V&H Bigshots.
The pipes I want on my Street Bob. ......... But. Do you/will I need a new fuel pack?
I doubt you would need a tune if you were just adding the pipes as it won’t make a drastic difference. Couple the pipes with a high flow air intake and you should do the tune.
Do All pipe changes require it be retuned?
Generally only if you put on a high flow air intake along with the pipes. If you just do pipes you shouldn’t need a tune.
What if I were to debaffle my stock exhaust? Would it be equally sweet?
I’ve done that before and it was not the same. You would be much better off with slip-ons, trust me.
@@canadiansa1nt309 noted. Thanks again 👍
In italy, fat boy 114 2021 with 4 land probes can still be done ..?
Possibly…but don’t take my word for it 👍
@@canadiansa1nt309 Don't you know anyone who can help me ..?
There are those who say that with the US mapping there should be no problems ..!
I don’t think you would have any problems, however, I am not a Harley Tech.
I have a honda vtx 1800.would this 114 Ci take it. In a race. Nic ebike I want one
I would say the Harley would edge it out.
@@canadiansa1nt309 sweet. I'm gonna ge me one. Sweet pipes

In italia fat boy 114 2021 a 4 sonde landa si possono installare ugualmente..?
Hmmm…my translation isn’t quite making sense.
Doesn’t that make the pipes too hot since there’s no heat shields?
It has not been a problem.
@@canadiansa1nt309 Don’t accidentally bump into them with shorts on. 🩳
Got that right 👍
Dude!!!!! Awesome upload!!! Guess what I'm gonna do today now....and will not affect the tuning at all?
It should not affect the tune. I have a stage one with no issue and I’ve also ran straight pipes with no issues in the past. It wouldn’t be such a huge change that you would have to retune.
I did the same thing with mine!! I'll get a new intake and tune it in the future. is yours staged 1?
Mine is a Stage One, yes.
@@canadiansa1nt309 was there a difference?
With the Harley tuner (pro street tuner) not much. It gets up to speed a little faster but that’s all I really noticed.
@@canadiansa1nt309 what about sound?
I didn’t notice the sound really change at all with the tune

That’s a new one on me. I don’t think I’ve ever been told that by a dealer. Same thing for aftermarket air cleaner systems.

Hi did your Fatboy had 4 sensors on stock pipe or only 2?
Hello. There is one per pipe so 2 total.
@@canadiansa1nt309 Thanks ,europe had 4 so is imposible to change yet
Did you mapped your bike with these slip ons?
It was tuned once these were put on.
They sound great!
Did you get your front rotor?
I did not. I still have the same one.
Sounds great beautiful bike
Thanks! 👍
Great vid, gonna be doing that tomorrow.
It definitely opens them up.
@@canadiansa1nt309 all done, brilliant move, great sound.
