We made this video a few years ago but recently updated it. The story behind it is that the Friends of Retzer Nature Center reached out to us and asked us to make a video about the birds of Retzer so that it could be played on a video screen inside the center, but we also wanted to share it with our TH-cam viewers. Thanks for watching! Make sure to like, comment, subscribe, and hit the notification bell if you enjoy our content! :)
We are a couple of retirees in North Carolina, and we love all your birding videos! Can you tell me what camera(s) you use for your videos and still photos? Thanks!
Hey! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! For this one I believe we shot everything with the Panasonic LUMIX DMC FZ-70. Since then we got the newer version, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC FZ-80. In my opinion the 80 takes better videos but has worse audio and the 70 took better photos. Both are great camera though. Hope that helps! -Derek
@@BadgerlandBirding Thanks for the info, Derek! I have a Nikon D5500 dslr, but it it’s heavy and cumbersome with a long lens for distance. I’m thinking that a bridge camera would suit my needs better, and I’m impressed with the quality of the images in your videos. Looking forward to more great content from you and Ryan!
Happy to help! Yeah we’ve been really impressed with the versatility of these small cameras and a lot of birders I’m meeting who carry big heavy lenses are impressed with them too and ask the name because they’re thinking of switching.

I got confused when I saw that you guys used some of these clips for your intro multiple years ago and I wondered how old it was.
I was gonna say, wow, the blackpolls are early this year!
Haha I wondered if anyone would catch that. Yeah, we felt it was time to finally release this one even.
Haha, yeah we can’t always release stuff as it coincides with the seasons. But we do try to
Another great video! Always enjoy watching your birding adventures. Congrats on 3k 👍
The squirrel at the end was too cute. Haha
Thanks, Lesley!
Great video guys! Love seeing all the different birds! Never seen a Bobolink before. Good stuff!! 🌻🤠
Thanks, Donnaleigh! Always enjoy reading your comments!
