I played counter fairies during the light vs dark event. It's a lot of fun to say No but when the deck doesn't give Artemis, it's painful.
Ties of the brethren helps to counter faeries and starry knight cuz from an honest they can summon artemis/orbitael or from other fairies they can get an honest and bounce it for opp turn
Played counter fairies a year ago, yes it's pretty fun when you get to say no but you need the right starting hand or well.....kNOwing how restrictive a counter trap can get makes it a bit hard for decks that have multiple combo routes

Well, Guy, Blue in MTG is literally No.dek so he was implying that he found the Yugioh Equivalent. Which he did.
Yes, it's counter "trap" deck but you don't pay your LP and you get to draw a lot
You can however prevent SOME counter from activating.....by paying more mana
I see so many cards that say "your opponent cannot Synchro, Fusion, Xyz, or Link Summon" and wondered why I never see a card that disables Pendulum Summoning. The first time I do and it's self inflicted by your own Pendulum Scale.
Think that says a lot about the mechanic as a whole.

Flipping counter traps and saying NO is just so satisfying (either to play or even to watch).
Counter fairies are a guilty pleasure of mine. Ill admit it
Everyone knows Dark Magician isn't a good deck, and Farfa played that first match badly. However, you'll sometimes be surprised how resilient DM is if you're not on something meta.
It has funny combos. My personal fave is Dark Magician the Dragon Knight with Secret Village of the Spellcasters and/or Eternal Soul, and two Wave Motion Cannon.

@@justsightseeing1 I was playing Numeron at the time. Numeron doesn't really play monsters that destroy backrow.
If i build counter fairies i would play Condemned Witch for Artemis.

It's kind of amusing that although Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic have different definitions of what a "fairy" is, fairy decks in both games tend to be annoying "counter everything you play" types of decks.

I have been playing Altergeist lately and there are few things as satisfying as negating Maxx "C" with Solemn Strike, or having people use Imperm/Ash Blossom while Protocol is active.

you should play condemned witch, it brings Artemis + a forbidden card
Wait, were you playing this deck without meltiel and sanctum? Sanctum is back row protection and trap/fairy recycling and meltiel is a free 1k lp and a pop every time you use a counter trap. I also keep 3 reinforce in the deck and 1 barrier statue. The best opener is reinforce, any monster and 3 traps. You reinforce to summon whichever of honest, barrier statue or artemis/meltiel you didn't draw then set 3. They are light locked, you have 3 nos and they can't attack over it because of honest.

That deck sucks.
Long story to explain why, but this is one of my least favourite decks of all time. It is the ultimate dice roll deck, if you go first you can win if you go second you automatically lose.
anytime i come across decks like this or just evenly matched in general, I just go afk on every chain response until the last second and throw on a youtube vid. won 4 games in a row like this, if we're gonna be toxic out here then I'm all game lmao
