I have AWE's Pro Touring on mine. I wasn't really impressed with the sound honestly, but lots of people compliment the car on a regular basis. It's definitely better than stock, but I still am underwhelmed overall. Plenty loud when stepping on it and easy to daily without blowing your ears out, so I'll give them credit where it's due.
Cody awesome video. I just bought my ZL1 this past July. Been considering the Corsa xtreme axle back system. The AWE sounds fantastic. What part number did you get and did you keep the NPP valves. If you didn’t keep the NPP what did you do with the wire. Did you pull the Fuse off. Thanks for the great video.
Congrats on a hell of a car man! This exhaust is 3015-43115 (awe touring axleback with black tips). No npp valves. I just disconnected the valve, electric taped the connector and tucked it back into the bumper. No check engine lights or anything. I actually do have the fuse pulled but thats because i had it pulled before the exhaust and never put it back. Found no reason to. I heard the corsa exhaust in person on a zl1 and a SS and i know this is subjective but it just didint make me say "take 3,000". I appreciate your good words and good luck with whatever you choose!

I had a ss 1LE now have a 24 ZL1 but I was sooo torn between the flowmaster or awe to the very end. I considered Borla/Corsa but honestly, just made no sense to me for how much they charge & yet their sound is no better than a cheap mprb exhaust or against a top name. I had flowmaster on my 1LE so ultimately I purchased another one for the ZL1. The Flowmaster Outlaws are aggressive af but with w/secondary cats still attached it balances out. the npp in touring mode switches the mufflers to the American thunders is much more tame. but the Flowmaster over all gives the car that deeeep throaty old school American muscle growl which helps balance out that xpipe high raspy pitch. So it’s all personal preference. Either way u can’t go wrong with awe or any others u put on a 6gen!

AWE makes quality exhausts. yes, its sounds obnoxious and angry as it should.
From the sound of this ZL1. I like AWE exhaust. The supercharger wine is really a turn 📴. I like the aggressive, angry 😡 sound of your ZL1 🤝

I love the sound of the AWE exhausts, was seriously considering getting one on my 17 ZL1 when I had it to replace the Borla ATAK system that was on it. But ended up selling the car in the end for family growth so ended up getting a 19 GMC Sierra Denali. I'll get another one down the line as it's definitely a racecar feeling to those ZL1's. Nice ride bud, love the burbles and pops on decel.
When you show the driver POV clips, do you record exterior exhaust audio? It can't be THAT LOUD in the cabin!

I was waiting to hear if it's AWE touring or track, don't think you mentioned, unless I missed it. That fact that it gets quiet when you want it like you described, I'd guess it's the touring version, correct? But the fact that it seemed so loud and crackling, had me confused lol
Yup its touring. It gets loud when you get on throttle and stock levels when cruising. So you get best of both worlds. No drone and sounds amazing imo

No drone at all. From what i hear the track (muffler deletes) will drone but touring has none
Why didn't you get the AWE Track instead of the AWE touring?
The track is just muffler deletes and drones like crazy.
Is the rest of the exhaust stock? I see a lot of people doing a secondary cat delete or resonator delete.

Sounds good, Cody! I was ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on the AWE if my Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust wasn't going to show up. Ordered it in October of '22, finally got it June of '23(supplier issues to build the kits). I was talking via email with the AWE rep and told him I'd get the AWE if the Flowmaster wasn't here by the end of June. Very happy with my system. Sounds great and had my tips powder coated gloss black(didn't like the polished look on my black car), but yeah, was super close to having AWE. Good choice 👌 👍 🙌

What can you do about cold start loud
I start it with the garage closed then open once idle drops. Otherwise stick pool noodles in the exhaust 🤣😂

you should get the MPI s/c lid. pretty cheap compared to others and it really brings the blower whine out quite a bit

Hahaha! Thats a good cop lol. Well that was up hill on mid throttle and the mic is 6 inches from the exhaust. At that its no louder than stock. Ill def have more clips with interior sound.

Thanks man. Theres a bunch of different mics I use in different placements and such. Knowing where to put them and what attachments and levels etc just takes time to dial in. Overall I like Rode but they can be $$

ooooweeeeee that sounds goooooooooood. i'm just a bit hesitant since it would no longer work in conjunction with the snow/ice, tour, sport and track modes. it just has one mode: LOUD!
Haha thanks man. Its really pretty quiet under light throttle and just highway cruising. It is loud as piss though on hard throttle. Dont miss the valves at all tbh

😂 it could be! Haha. No drone at all. I really dont miss the valves. Had the valved borlas last time and almost never used them. This exhaust was about $600 less than borla and about 1400 less than corsa. Haha

Man, my husband had a ZL1 2021 and at the beginning of 2023 had to get rid of it. Revving it to 100+ was a sneaky treat on long strips that I miss the most about. My secret promise is to find a way to get my husband this car again --- without OF, of course. Just hard work and grit.
