I just did this on my recumbent trike 4 weeks ago although it was a Wednesday so I got the Vietnam version! Two sections REALLY stand out - the big roundabout where I had to fight the BIG trucks and the memorial for 5? people (and table and bench seats)! I got lost and went left through hope island and Surfer’s along the coast. I agree approx a third is really scary BUT I CAN’T WAIT TO DO IT ALL AGAIN!
(Caboolture to Coolangatta maybe on to Murwillumbar next time). Really enjoying your videos though - just the right amount of editing ie not boring at all. Thanks and Cheers 🍻

It may have been before your time, but the tornado that went from Mt Cootha, through Indooropilly, all the way through Moorooka, Salisbury out to the bay in January 1974. I lived in Moorooka at the time, and it went down Mayfield road. It completely destroyed houses on the southern side, while houses on the other side of the street were untouched. I lived just over the hill. We lost roof tiles and massive hail. I'd say it was of similar intensity.
I was 14 at the time.

No, I never knew about that one. Thanks for letting me know, I'll research it a bit more.

Thats nothing compared to the road i went on last week 82 kilometers of rough broken cracked asphalt surface very narrow path unpredictable and full of glass shards gravel and endless wavy vibration through a military base dirt track in the middle of nowhere on a folding city electric bike thats not built for those conditions i dont know how my bike survived that but im impressed.

Those electric city bike are crazy to ride... sounds like you had an adventure all right. :)

Pretty ridiculous that they didn't build a dedicated cycling path either when they upgraded the Pacific Hwy or when they built the GC railway line. Wouldn't have taken that much more effort or $, compared to what was spent. The Mt Gravat to City bikeway is good, but I wouldn't sat that it is very efficent when you have to take backstreets and cross roads at pedestrian crossing in places.

So modern history lesson. Hoon law's created because of computer road hooning that's only a few kms from the Norwell racetrack that council won't allow to hold burnouts or drifting. Mexican Hoon Cartel started because of the frustration of the boys doing skids in the cane field's basically outside the track. So hoons proudly supported by the gold coast city council and the outstanding professionals in the queenslsnd government 🤦😡 in those decades how many ppl got killed or mamed 😔

People saying its stupid they didnt make it better.
Its a big distance. And we aint a cycling country.
I can only imagine the millions spent of the elervated veloway at tarrigindi
Dont get me wrong... Its cool .. but its never going to be perfect.

Had a drone flying over the other day 🤷 if I'm told to move on I'll be saying sure where to and not moving on unless I'm actually causing someone an issue

@@jelbuilderfilms bloody oath in bundamba bush surrounded by old Mine's and history. Not homeless but long grassing 🤷 it was either let these time's take its toll and basically have no life or do something about it and actually live. I've built a little humpie and it's definitely a home now. I collect scrap metal from new house sites making great money. Hopefully some time this year I'll need somewhere to park my car and trailer so I can go drifting in Japan which is something I never thought I'd be able to achieve
