Visual Effects Education - Take a course or self-develop?

VFX Shoebox - episode 3 - should you take a course to learn visual effects or teach yourself using TH-cam and books / forums?
In episode 3 I try to break down the roles of different types of education when learning how to do visual effects - why some studios look for qualifications and how they will, or will not, benefit you depending on your self-motivation and drive to progress. How you can also keep motivated and teach yourself or what you need to look for when choosing a course or institution.
This time shot with a little better camera (as the other main one didn't work) - my awesome iPhone7+ camera..! Works in a pinch. Hopefully Santa gets me a better camera to shoot these vlogs with..!
