That’s what I’m saying. EE’s are allowed to just be fun and goofy, the skeletons on DE are a fun way to switch up the experience, same thing with noir mode on SoE which he didn’t mention(?). If it’s not for you that’s fine, but don’t act like it’s horrible because it wasn’t your cup of tea.

Man I fully respect other people’s opinions but you can tell he’s nitpicking super small issues and blowing them out of proportion like beast mode and the margwa. It’s so much better and much more fun to use than afterlife and the margwa is one of the most balanced zombie bosses ever. A little bit of bias, but I really do love the bo3 story
I haven't witnessed anyone struggling with Beast mode, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. When did he say the Margwa was unbalanced? You can like the story, but that doesn't mean it's good lol.
I disagree the afterlife is more fun to me but I feel like it’s more of a personal preference thing.

@@itz_snipe I agree it takes a lot from other concepts and all, but how everything matches up together with the ambiance too, is really good and entertaining. He has some good points, but there is the middle ground where the negatives bring up positives too.
@@itz_snipe copying the idea of something doesnt make it unoriginal. most fantasy stories copy lotr in some way, that doesnt mean there hasnt been any original fantasy stories since lotr. in the same way, yes a lot of the ideas were reused, but they were integrated in a unique way that produces a unique experience.
I HARD disagree with almost every negative point he made about SoE.
Nitpicking afterlife, the side EEs, and perks/map layout was unnecessary. These things are either fully optional and/or add a lot of replayability.
Bc soe is a better mob and I think he’s just a mob guy.

@@Bedic-Mag I remember back when Shadows came out everybody hated it, now it's one of the most beloved maps in the community. I was a part of the hate it originally got too, but after playing it a while later and learning the map I actually realized how fun the map was. I sort of agree with some of his points like the forgettable cast, but basically calling beast mode a rip off or shell of what afterlife was, was outrageous. I completely disagree with that, MotD is my all time favorite zombies map too and I like afterlife, but beast mode is the better version to me. You could use that same nostalgia argument for anyone who says afterlife is better since Mob is older than Shadows, easy cop out for not actually having a real reason. Him saying the rituals are only fun the first time and after that becomes a chore is outrageous too, I still enjoy doing the whole map set up and doing the rituals to get pack a punch, it's a fun pack a punch quest I think, plus it's unqiue. I love maps like that that have bigger set ups and more stuff to do, Origins, Der Eisendrache, Shadows, Mob, you could say everything about those maps is only fun the first time and just gets boring and repetitive afterwards but it just doesn't make sense. To me simpler maps like Der Riese and Kino get far more boring and repetitive way quicker because the entire map is just get guns, get perks, pack a punch, run circles around zombies for 30 rounds. I still love to play simpler maps once in a while don't me wrong, I don't always wanna spend an hour setting origins up before round 10, round based zombies in general is just so extremely fun and could never get too old or boring to me.

Lex titled this really misleadingly. The actual video is supposed to be a retrospective on BO3 Zombies at its release. It's context for why Shadows was tepidly received at launch.
You say that and people base their whole perception of games as BO4 in it's launch state without touching the game anymore during it's lifecycle or DLC's because everyone said it was bad untill the game content was fully released and died down , same as vanguard even though that game couldn't redeem itself since there wasn't any good maps released during its lifecycle and it was an objective mode in it's core so it doesn't count as zombies , i would say the same thing about cold war and it's popularity due to getting launched during Covid otherwise it's in some aspects more bland than vanguard itself at least in the visuals and story

Bo3 is by far the best CoD in terms of zombies. Gameplay, visuals, map design and layout, it feels the best to play, and the maps are (almost) all S tier, or at least A tier. No other game in the series has that level of consistency, even Bo2 has some bad eggs, but Bo3 is all around great.
I think Infinite Warfare Zombies is the best in Gameplay, it's the most balanced and has the best mechanics ever.

Even though a side easter egg is optional, that doesn't mean it's beyond criticism. Most of SOE's side easter eggs are difficult with very mediocre rewards. It's important for side EE's to be rewarding because they are OPTIONAL!!!

BO3 was such a special time. First COD I actually grinded and reached master prestige. The whole experience of it and watching the Z house become a thing was truly incredible, legitimately one of the best periods of my life

What’s so wild is everything he shits on are a lot of things I love. It’s honestly kind of cool that while all 4 characters in SOE are technically different they’re still thematically the same in terms of how awful they are which is embodied in how similar the rituals are. They may come from different backgrounds but they’re still similarly evil which is why acquiring all the ritual parts is the same method. The characters want to think they’re different but they’re not. Evil is evil no matter the background. Also, snow on the giant looks fantastic. I don’t care what anyone says. It looks so much better than the original. I’m a sucker for any snow map which is partially why DE is my favorite map

I think the reason why he got annoyed with feeding the DE dragons and not the MOTD dogs is because the bow is mandatory and the retriever isn’t. If you ever don’t feel like doing the dogs on mob, you really don’t have to.

The best part is the collection of classic maps with chronicles and custom maps/mods on PC, that's why its still the best COD zombies to play today. And probably the best zombies for the next decade as well.
This is a generational hater for no good reason. His small quibles with BO3 makes it seem like he just wanted to make a "controversial " video calling BO3 bad and had to find the tiniest details to find a point.

Calling this a documentary is a joke, this is a hit piece. Bro is apparently incapable of having fun, all he did was nitpick and gripe about most everything. I understand there are definitely issues with the game, but he basically cannot stand anything that is in the game just as a little joke EE and hates on any and all mechanics that were pulled forward because the fans of BO2 enjoyed them so much. It’s okay to be disappointed with certain things pulled forward but to hate on things just because they are harder, different, or not on perfect theme is just goofy. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that but, maybe approach it with a more open mindset. He keeps referencing new players, but in the same breath says it sucks compared to how it was in previous games. New players don’t care cause they didn’t experience that bro.

I mean, lack of original mini bosses, lack of original wonder weapons, lack of ambience, questionable vfx design choices, boring EE’s, bad characters, terrible hud design, plain map layouts, game mechanics from multiplayer/warzone that are horribly integrated into zombies. (Also please understand I’m going off of everything we saw during the play tests, but I honestly doubt it’s subject to change anytime soon)
Cold War was a good example of what they should stay away from honestly and it’s clear bo6 will be exactly that Cold War pt 2

Having bits you don’t like about all of these maps makes sense, but to flat out say a map blows because of small issues you have is really over doing it
After reading the comments on this video, it seems like a lot of people simple just don’t like hearing different opinions. Whether you agree with someone or not you can still learn something. Lex actually listened to what CJ was saying and could see his point of view, almost no one else in these comments seemed to even try this.

The problem with CJ Santa is he takes arguments that could apply positively or negatively to a map and spins them accordingly on maps he personally-subjectively dislikes or likes... And then proceeds to pretend like they are all objective opinions. Ragging on the SOE setup because it's tedious but then not on the MOTB set up because it's "varied" is weak sauce. MOTD has as varied a setup every game as SOE. Every relic in SOE has a different way of accessing it through beast mode, just as every plane part has a different task in MOTD through Afterlife. Its fine if you don't like Shadows - but don't act like you're providing some novel and measured objective opinion against the "BO3 Hive Mind" - This guy just likes to be contrarian to get views - And he's gotten alot of them because of it.

when your talking about the final step on DE, it can be completed with just 2 people but you need killing time, the death machine, and a pap xm-53. As long as the person who uses the death machine doesn't have the pap xm-53 you can deal enough damage in the first phase. I respect the amount of effort that went into his video, but Oh My LORD! Does he have some fundamentally just, wrong takes on some of these maps. Calling the Margwa just... Alright? Its literally the most balanced Mini Boss we have ever had, even to this day. So what if you can take it out with the civil protector in one shot? I feel like thats a bonus, because 1. it can save you in a bad spot 2. You can only use the civil protector sparingly 3. It gives purpose to what was kind of a useless ai solider on high rounds.
Everything CJ said about Shadows, except for the easter egg being too short and dumb that the final step needs 4 players, is just fundamentally wrong, and proves that he doesn't understand what the zombies community is all about. I swear this dude is secretly an Activision plant trying to convince people that bo3 was actually bad and vanguard and cold war are much better 😂

Honestly, this video was needed. As someone who mostly enjoys BO3 I genuinely enjoyed and appreciated and understand all the criticisms that are presented. I am tired of the BO3 hog riders acting like it’s Gods gift. Yes it’s a complete package but it’s not the holy grail (BO1 is… kidding, none of them are).
The comment section on the video itself and Lex’s reaction video goes to show the really horrible attitude everyone in this community has. The zombies community is the embodiment of ‘nostalgia blind’. Everyone hates everything because what became before it was ‘better’. The community has been doing this since the release of BO1 saying WaW is superior. Everyone’s got their opinions and they need to be respected, and also recognize that it’s okay to have your opinions challenged.
With that being said, I am not confident that this video was actually made in good faith. It feels the writer is genuine about the critiques and praises in this video but some points do feel “nit-picky” and seems redundant to waste energy on in the grand scheme of it all (just like how I’m wasting time typing this). This video also does feel like ragebait. Especially since they asked Lex to react to this and judging by both Henry’s and CJs comments. These guys are slapping back with “u mad cuz Soe n DE are dogged on, git gud at commenting”. You guys sound like absolute losers thinking that a bunch of randos on the internet are gonna take the time to write a 100 page essay in a comment section on your 3 hour critique. Ain’t nobody got time for that unless it’s your job like Lex.

None of it is rage bait, a troll or in jest. I respond to comments that say it was 90% "nitpicks" much like yours and I either get no response or it's something I already explained in the video. Comments that say "this sucks", "nothing but nitpicks" or something similar aren't useful to anybody.
All of this was written was from my perspective. I gave concise reasons and explanations for why I think the way I do about BO3. People can disagree, but it doesn't make it wrong.
For the record too, Lex agreed with most of what was said in the video, he just disagreed with the conclusions I made. It was in good faith and he was very fair. Most of the comments we respond to aren't.
The zombies community is now filled with modern zombies fans who aren't even old enough to drink and never played the old games, and close minded BO3 fans who think every other game is trash. It's really not worth caring about anymore. I play and enjoy every zombies game. Difference is, I can criticize all of them because I'm a normal person.

While yes, you are giving concise replies in the comments and I can appreciate you can articulate your thoughts so well, and rapidly…, they come across impulsive and that you have a grudge against the community which is toxic behavior(as if this community isn’t already toxic)which makes me question the actual intentions of the video. You say “comment like yours” even tho I didn’t say anything about your video besides literally baiting you in with one word, “nitpick”, you probably wouldn’t have responded to my comment if it wasn’t there. My comment was more about the community and creators themselves.
I think your biggest and probably only downfall with the video is that you had someone else VO your script. CJ has such a monotone and generally snobby, talk-down attitude, making your statements so much more aggressive than you claim they aren’t. And I understand that if someone else didn’t post your video on their channel it would’ve gotten low viewership. If you’ve had the courage to VO your own script, your video would’ve been portrayed very differently and flow more consistently. You really shot yourself in the foot there.
I said what I said about Lex mostly because the type of content he’s been putting out recently is BO3 hog-riding and BO6 fear-mongering, you are obviously aware of his demographic, making his audience an easy target for you to have comment wars with. What I said had nothing to do with Lex agreeing or disagreeing with your critiques, but the fact you brought it up proves you are seeking some sort of validation and has me questioning whether you can handle criticism yourself (tbf, no one has presented much real criticism to you in either comment sections).

Honestly, this was a truly baffling video. As someone who doesn't interact with the community much, but enjoys the game mode quite a bit, I'm absolutely confused at the notion of writing a script and getting someone else to voice it, instead of just....making your own video? They did intentionally nerf the wolf bow in the boss fight. It was the same patch that neutered the lightning bow. The wolf bow would absolutely slaughter the boss fight pre patch.
Just on the dragon heads step criticism, me and my buddy found you could activate the shower door, the wardens key, wardens office, speed cola, electric cherry, the gondola and the washing machine on round 1. this means you can get all 3 dogs done on mob by round 2/3 and get everything powered up and have the plane built by round 4/5... it requires you to stay at the person in the afterlife's body and spam revive them, but its not that hard. I don't think saying its takes longer to set up on mob is factual as it takes about the same amount of time on both maps to get power ,build the shield , feed the animals and get pap.

bo3 still my favorite game cause my first immersive game for playing and watching was bo3, and I played Cod 2 when i was 4(throw the potato). Multiplayer was so good as well itd probably be the best if it had a banger campaign. Zombies was great i didn't get chronicles but had all the dlcs but never got into GK or Zets much. I even tried the glitches on shadows from the speedruns they are so fun. Ive played bo3 zombies probably biannually at this point and I played yesterday and think it may have been the last time. You can only be overpowered for so long. Great game tho lex u made it great as well
