That’s what I’m saying. EE’s are allowed to just be fun and goofy, the skeletons on DE are a fun way to switch up the experience, same thing with noir mode on SoE which he didn’t mention(?). If it’s not for you that’s fine, but don’t act like it’s horrible because it wasn’t your cup of tea.

Man I fully respect other people’s opinions but you can tell he’s nitpicking super small issues and blowing them out of proportion like beast mode and the margwa. It’s so much better and much more fun to use than afterlife and the margwa is one of the most balanced zombie bosses ever. A little bit of bias, but I really do love the bo3 story
I haven't witnessed anyone struggling with Beast mode, but that doesn't mean he's wrong. When did he say the Margwa was unbalanced? You can like the story, but that doesn't mean it's good lol.
I disagree the afterlife is more fun to me but I feel like it’s more of a personal preference thing.

I HARD disagree with almost every negative point he made about SoE.
Nitpicking afterlife, the side EEs, and perks/map layout was unnecessary. These things are either fully optional and/or add a lot of replayability.

@@Bedic-Mag I remember back when Shadows came out everybody hated it, now it's one of the most beloved maps in the community. I was a part of the hate it originally got too, but after playing it a while later and learning the map I actually realized how fun the map was. I sort of agree with some of his points like the forgettable cast, but basically calling beast mode a rip off or shell of what afterlife was, was outrageous. I completely disagree with that, MotD is my all time favorite zombies map too and I like afterlife, but beast mode is the better version to me. You could use that same nostalgia argument for anyone who says afterlife is better since Mob is older than Shadows, easy cop out for not actually having a real reason. Him saying the rituals are only fun the first time and after that becomes a chore is outrageous too, I still enjoy doing the whole map set up and doing the rituals to get pack a punch, it's a fun pack a punch quest I think, plus it's unqiue. I love maps like that that have bigger set ups and more stuff to do, Origins, Der Eisendrache, Shadows, Mob, you could say everything about those maps is only fun the first time and just gets boring and repetitive afterwards but it just doesn't make sense. To me simpler maps like Der Riese and Kino get far more boring and repetitive way quicker because the entire map is just get guns, get perks, pack a punch, run circles around zombies for 30 rounds. I still love to play simpler maps once in a while don't me wrong, I don't always wanna spend an hour setting origins up before round 10, round based zombies in general is just so extremely fun and could never get too old or boring to me.

Bo3 is by far the best CoD in terms of zombies. Gameplay, visuals, map design and layout, it feels the best to play, and the maps are (almost) all S tier, or at least A tier. No other game in the series has that level of consistency, even Bo2 has some bad eggs, but Bo3 is all around great.
I think Infinite Warfare Zombies is the best in Gameplay, it's the most balanced and has the best mechanics ever.

@@Iobsterpetersonsure to say the civil protector is practically useless is insane considering it’s mind numbingly easy to build and offers you sm for high rounds and the ee he complains ab fucking wall running to pack a punch like that’s so bad beast mode added on sm to what after life was and if he likes afterlife better that’s fine but to say that beast mode just made things annoying is ridiculous it adds sm depth to the map and knowledge to the game of how much you can get done in a single beast mode if he doesn’t like the characters that’s fine to I agree they’re not anything super great but to say they don’t add anything to the story is stupid considering they laid the map out perfectly around the characters giving them each a section and telling their stories thru the places they’ve been and making the ee steps character specific was genius I could go on

Ain't no way he just said "Shadows Of Evil" is average at best. He even says "he got sick of everyone praising shadows of evil, but not sick of everyone else glazing mob of the dead and origins" bruh like come on. This guy is straight up just hating shadows. Shadows solo every zombies map after it.
I respect the amount of effort that went into his video, but Oh My LORD! Does he have some fundamentally just, wrong takes on some of these maps. Calling the Margwa just... Alright? Its literally the most balanced Mini Boss we have ever had, even to this day. So what if you can take it out with the civil protector in one shot? I feel like thats a bonus, because 1. it can save you in a bad spot 2. You can only use the civil protector sparingly 3. It gives purpose to what was kind of a useless ai solider on high rounds.
Everything CJ said about Shadows, except for the easter egg being too short and dumb that the final step needs 4 players, is just fundamentally wrong, and proves that he doesn't understand what the zombies community is all about. I swear this dude is secretly an Activision plant trying to convince people that bo3 was actually bad and vanguard and cold war are much better 😂

complaints about the side easter eggs in shadows is weird considering that side EE’s are a bonus, and sometimes aren’t supposed to mesh with the map. just because it’s a slight upgrade didn’t make it pointless or needed to be removed. The shield upgrade, lil arnies, and tripmines are fun addition that are there for that…FUN.
civil protector complaints are irrelevant becuase it’s not a requirement and it only aids the players. it doesn’t hurt the gameplay in any way so it made no sense to bring him up
Bringing up how Shadows of evil was received upon launch, but never mentioned ZNS’a reputation it had for YEARS being bad. Complained about shadows having a repetitive early game setup, saying that you do the same thing for 10 mins everytime you launch the map. When in ZNS you literally have no variation with how you start the map. You have no freedom in choosing how you do stuff UNTIL you turn the power on. Same start every game
Somehow the bucket being in spawn tells the player more than the beast stand in spawn does, and the seed drops from the zombies tell the player what to do somehow, like there aren’t things in shadows that point the player to where and how to use beast mode, by having symbols or obvious connection points like the power boxes, that are even more highlighted when you actually are in beast mode
Saying that Shadows and DE are just repackaged mob and origins when you admitted to GK having the same layout as decade old maps yet that’s somehow not a complaint or gripe

Calling this a documentary is a joke, this is a hit piece. Bro is apparently incapable of having fun, all he did was nitpick and gripe about most everything. I understand there are definitely issues with the game, but he basically cannot stand anything that is in the game just as a little joke EE and hates on any and all mechanics that were pulled forward because the fans of BO2 enjoyed them so much. It’s okay to be disappointed with certain things pulled forward but to hate on things just because they are harder, different, or not on perfect theme is just goofy. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that but, maybe approach it with a more open mindset. He keeps referencing new players, but in the same breath says it sucks compared to how it was in previous games. New players don’t care cause they didn’t experience that bro.

@@HenryMythit’s not that he was criticizing, but that he is harping on things that, in general, are lot of players don’t care about or can look past because the overall experience is enjoyable. Having bits you don’t like about all of these maps makes sense, but to flat out say a map blows because of small issues you have is really over doing it

For me I just assumed Beast Mode for killing would be a bad thing but only a last resort. As in it gave no points or something. It is just something I have always inferred from non weapon kills. Shadows is awesome though, just everything about imo. And though i rarely use Robocop, i think he is cool and he can revive you.
Tbh his point about the start on SOE being one of the worst examples of "always doing the same thing" is a bit strange when it is one of the only maps where the first door you open is random. Any other map it is a 50/50 that is either irrelevant or has one obvious option. SOE has 3, and eventually you open them all, but your first option is always the Juggernog room. Is it super different? no. Is it different enough to be considered better than most? absolutely.
"Revisionist history" That is not what term means lol. People liking it is because it is good. I didn't even play it with other peoples opinions beforehand and still thought it was great, did i just magically revise my own history of the map that didn't exist. and it isn't like any of the patches were that severe to change the map from bad to good. half a second of margwa heads open on spawn is nice, but not that big a deal.
Sorry but a lot of this SOE section did not come off very well, felt like they weren't voicing their opinion but trying to say it was objectively bad and the whole Revisionist history part just cemented this.

@@HenryMyth you said that every game is about opening the same doors but honestly that was that way since bo1. In Kino I always opened the upstairs door and never the downstairs one. Also you keep playing every game in the same training spot. You see DE as a worse Origins but Origins was more tedious than DE. The staffs were tedious and even getting the pack a punch was tedious. Don't even comment the special rounds were you have to go to x generator to prevent the templar zombies deactivate them. In DE the pack a punch is so simple that it seems like a bo1 map. And then the bows are more easy to build. About mob, i get why you say the afterlife is better than beast mode since it has that lonely vibe to it, but I feel it was better implemented in SoE since using less you can have all the rituals done by low rounds. In mob you have to spend a lot of points to open the map and then you need a lot of afterlifes to get the plane parts. As I see it, SoE and DE are more simplified or refined versions of Mob and Origins. The last point I would like to argue is that you said you have to do the rituals every single game and that made the first minutes of the game to be tedious and repetitive (I used my own words since I don't remember yours exactly) but honestly, in Origins you start a game and you begin to go to the generators which are more tedious than SoE since the Origins layout it's bigger, then you have to build the staffs. Repeat that every single game. In mob you start a game, and have to open all the map to build the plane and mob is expensive as fuck. So the things you complained about I think is a issue that started in bo2. I don't say you are wrong and pretend that SoE is the best map of all time because I don't think it is, just saying that I see them as a less tedious experiences. It was a way to appeal to the old good maps from bo2 while making them more accesible. The only bad thing about Shadows is the rituals and replaying mob in the last weeks I realized that they took less time than building the plane since the plane took you more rounds to do it.
@@mauriziochirca8939 To comment on the SoE/DE being refined versions of MoTD/Origins, the issue is that they took something that already existed and did not improve it in a substantial way.
Looking at Generators vs Rituals, the only real difference is that they removed the templar shutdown mechanic and the power aspect. They did not fix the time issue, especially in 4 player while doing it alone, there isn’t anything dynamic about it the event that makes each experience unique like how Gorod’s Groph Pods would spawn in different locations and the dragon could possibly burn the location.
Why bring it back without improving it enough? That’s the idea of the argument.
@@okWishFull I can't argument about the 4 players features since I play solo, but I personally find more annoying the generators than the DE process. Yeah, pack a punch change locations but don't care that much. More annoying is to interrupt the training strat to go kill the Templars which by the time you arrive they may have already deactivated 1 or even two generators if you have difficulties with the hordes. Then you have to activate them again if you want the pack a punch. The same with mob. In SoE you do the rituals and you have pap for the rest of the match. In mob you have to interrupt your round and go pick the fuel to build the plane again. That's why I personally think bo3 refined them. In mob you have 3 revives if you play offline which made the game easier. SoE you cannot rely in beast mode for that. Also, you have to spend an afterlife for just two buttons while with a single beast mode you can activate the whole district and do the ritual. They certainly did not add that much, but they improve it. If something is not broken why would you fix it? Bo1 was not that innovative. Like kino vs der riese. Imagine if I say kino is so mediocre because it's like der riese and does not add anything new. I'm not saying SoE or DE are better, just that their mechanics feel less tedious in some ways. If people liked them the first time why they would not enjoy something similar again. SoE and beast mode feels different than afterlife but they are related features. The staffs are different than bows but the bows are easier to build and less tedious. That's why DE it's good for casual gameplay. I cannot say the same about Origins specifically the bo2 version of it. In bo3 at least you have aat to avoid building the staffs. He also said that all the matches are the same because of the setting process but that happened since the beginning so I can't see why he is trashing on bo3. I have to add that bo3 didn't to make that much, let me explain. Waw was barebones. Bo1 consolidated the basic features and formula. For bo2 they knew the mode should advance in a more complex thing to keep players interested introducing buildables. Bo3 was the game that started with the full formula defined while introducing new things. A new perk, 3 hits and more hit speed of the zombies. Leveling and calling card challenges and camos to keep players engaged. Aat if you want to skip the buildable weapons and have fun in a more casual way, weapon kits and boss fights. The story may be predictable but you can't deny it was the story that had the more humanized characters of zombies till that time. Finally the introduced specialists and a offensive feature for the shield. And yes, they kept reusing concepts, the dragon in gk it's similar to the robots in origins and not because of that is bad. Reuse things people like because they will still like it since they didnt overuse them. Revelations nowadays receives so much hate but when it came out all people were so hyped. Revelations should have been the end of the story but they decided to continue it, that is a reason why I think it aged worse than others. But it was a more casual approach after the dlc season. You had shadows and zetsubou in the complex side, then you had the giant, de and revelations in the more casual side. And gk I think is in the middle since the setup is better than soe or zetsubou. On top of that you had zombies chronicles and they even decide to let the community create their own things. There is so much things bo3 added even with the reused concepts but with little twists.

Bo3 was the peak of zombies. Came out in an amazing year too. 2016 was amazing
2015-2018 were peak zombies, going from so many different experiences was so awesome, from BO3Z, to IWZ, to WW2Z, and then BO4Z, now granted BO4 had the worst launch of all time.
@@it2spooky4me79 BO4 did struggle with the launch I thin their ambition was great though. Overall I think the game is the most creative and most hardcore as far as questing and eastereggs. I think how they chose to release maps and the perk system was some of its biggest downfalls. Also the way they chose to tell the stories was kind of wack. DOTN is the first map in the chaos story yet we got it for DLC1 which was funny. Also if activition didn't completely fuck over treyarch we would have gotten one of the greatest games of all time for BO4 zombies. Rushed them to make the game and forced them to make a BR to compete with Fortnite then got fucked and had to move 3/4 of the studio to make cold war just a mess. I agree though BO2 was great, BO3 was great IW was actually pretty good too.

Bo3 is basically a standalone zombies game. Campaign is trash, multiplayer is awful with the exo suits and nightmare mode is exactly that, a nightmare. Zombies is the only thing on there worth playing and it’s sooo good

I will say, not a lot of people understand the current canon, and I'm sorry if you don't like people who share different opinions, but the story isn't bad, it's a beautiful story, and A LOT of people gave this too much negative feedback. It's good, flame me if you want to. My point saying that is that, the zombies community needs to learn how to accept other opinions. I accept people don't like it, I just don't hang out with them because usually in those peoples minds, "Liking a certain zombies map equals you're a terrible person". No one's a terrible person, just leave people alone, and stop being so divisive for the sake of your own opinions. Just like what you like and leave people alone.
Honestly bo1 was perfect. Kino, five, call of the dead, shangrila, moon!! All Easter eggs are fun, and just natural zombie vibes on each map

I agree with almost every point he makes but I dont agree with how important he is making some design decisions out to be and ignoring the positive aspects of a lot of these maps that makeup tenfold for these design hiccups
The core gameplay of black ops 3 is just so strong that a lot of these issues dont feel that big
Origins is not steampunk , its just ww1 if group 935 existed and had access to 115. the fact that everything is powered by 115 and not steam should also be a dead giveaway that its not steampunk.
They did intentionally nerf the wolf bow in the boss fight. It was the same patch that neutered the lightning bow. The wolf bow would absolutely slaughter the boss fight pre patch.

Just on the dragon heads step criticism, me and my buddy found you could activate the shower door, the wardens key, wardens office, speed cola, electric cherry, the gondola and the washing machine on round 1. this means you can get all 3 dogs done on mob by round 2/3 and get everything powered up and have the plane built by round 4/5... it requires you to stay at the person in the afterlife's body and spam revive them, but its not that hard. I don't think saying its takes longer to set up on mob is factual as it takes about the same amount of time on both maps to get power ,build the shield , feed the animals and get pap.
