I went to a convention of JWS in my city with a girlfriend who was born into a family of JWS. When I found out about "the anointed" being the only ones that can interpret the Bible I told them it was a bit "culty" lol
To be fair not everyone being able to validly interpret the scriptures is valid, it should be the Church, anyone being able to be an interpreter has resulted in the 100,000 prot denominations

NO other religion is as united, not even close. Christendom has thousands of denominations that don't even agree with each other, JW's are ONE close family of worshippers studying the exact same information at every meeting world wide. All you people have is lies, truth is not in you.
This makes so much more sense. There were a few couples who would visit my home. I always tried to be welcoming and offer a cup of tea, etc. I found that the moment I pushed back and started referencing especially the Gospel of John, Daniel, etc., that they really had nowhere to go. The last straw was when I told one of them (former Episcopalian- which broke my heart because I'm formerly Anglican) that their understanding of the Bible was flawed even down to the fact that the one name they insist on calling God is one name that never would have been said in ancient times and that they have no chance of converting me, but I begged them to come back to at least a church that affirms the Holy Trinity. I haven't been visited in ages.

There is a higher degree of agreement between the Ancient Churches than we have with the Protestant churches which basically disagree on everything and have no connection to the disciples and Apostles of Christ.

This is insanity on a different level.
They actually no longer believe that the anointed are the only ones who can interpret the Bible. They teach that only the Governing Body can interpret the Bible. They changed this teaching sometime around 2013 in the Watchtower. So the anointed have almost no authority in the organization. They made them equivalent to the non anointed. The only difference that exists now is that they go to heaven via the first resurrection when they die.
July 2013 Study Edition of the WATCHTOWER. Your of the few who recall such changes, few remember or even care what use to be core doctrines, and are thrown to the curb for "New Light", dumbing down doctrines. The current JW's are as dumb as a fence, don't care what use to be taught and parrot that it is old teachings, they now endorse their "Current new truth" as what they believe until that is eliminated.

I’m learning that most people don’t understand the proper definitions of words. Subjection is amazing. It is basically giving yourself back to the one you came from in the sense of revelations 5:13. It’s not bowing. It is basically Jesus saying that everything the Father gave to him, He is giving back to the Father. This is the best argument I’ve ever heard on this subject. Several jehovas witness I talked to believe the chosen 144,000 , of which all are comprised of only a number of the special jehovas witnesses, only get to go to heaven, and the rest of the believers get to live on the new earth in the new Jerusalem. The watchtower magazine said Jesus Christ was returning in 1914 , 1925 , and 1975. When it didnt happen in 1914, the watchtower said the council made an error, and that was the year Jesus was made King of heaven. The catholic church does the same types of things. The councils add and subtract from the teachings of the bible throughout the centuries.

God teaches his Christian followers, FALSE doctrines for centuries, until he replaces these false doctrines with current false doctrines, until they expire with more NEW TRUTHS in false doctrine format. Let’s add a bit to this, as an exJW, the anointed were sealed in 1935, the 144,000 were completed by then, starting with the apostles, so there’s no anointed left alive now as they’d have had to be adults in 1935 to have been anointed and sealed by Jehovah, and so they now have the odd situation that the governing body( GB ) is made up of only “ other sheep, great crowd “ who are not anointed and therefore by their own previous assertions not qualified to interpret scripture, yet still calling themselves the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class who feed the other sheep.
Therefore any changes to doctrine that they make, and they have to make some as time rolls on and nullifies their previous failed prophesies, these changes cannot be inspired by Jehovah. Unless He is now guiding the Great Crowd/Other Sheep, and in that case any member of that class can claim inspired insight. Not just the 12 or so on the GB . If they claim they’re the only inspired group from the Great Crowd, then they’ve set up a 3rd class of Christians. They’re in inevitable deep hole that false prophets always fall in to.
That is not the current understanding. And no group on earth more Christian than JW’s. We have looked. No group comes close. Not preaching worldwide. Or they are part of the world. Or would fight each other in war. Not United. Not a people for God’s Name. All point to the witnesses.

Actually the society said Jesus began to rule in 1978 but then changed it to 1914. They also claimed the world would end in 1914 but then moved that as well. I have an original copy of one WT books which says this plainly. I also own a 1945 magazine that says to WORSHIP Jesus!!! Then in 1950 or 1953 they changed that and came out with their own version of the Bible!!!

I think trinitarians and Jehovahs Witnesses have a lot in common such as a prehuman existence of Jesus and of him being an angel in the old testament although it would be wrong to worship angels past or present( col. 2:18, rev.19:10, 22:8,9) i would like to see you expound on your commonalities more, i think it would be interesting.
Revelation 1:8 and Revelation 1:17-18. They also don't believe Jesus actually physically rose, denying the resurrection.

FOLD means those having the same hopes and aspirations.
Thus, the Chosen ones have the hope of being like Jesus and ruling with him in heaven. Philippians 3:20,21. Revelation 5:9,10.

(Psalm 37:29) The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.
One person cannot live in two separate locations at one and the same time.

Some have died more than once. Think about it. There is going to be a judgment during the 1000 year reign and based on their deeds what they do they will be judged. And after the 1000 year reigns Satan, the demons and all those who rebel will be forever destroyed.

The JWs teach (& I’m saying this as a former Elder who served in many capacities not just in the congregation, but w/in the organization) that the Bible, particularly the New Testament, is primarily written for the 144,000.
Once upon a time, they did teach about the Faithful & Discreet Slave “Class.” (Remaining members of the 144,000) That teaching was done away w/ in 2012 under “new light.”
They’ve always said that no one could understand the Bible without “them.”; the “them”, however, was initially believed to be the Slave Class. Over time the “them” was revealed to really mean ONLY the Governing Body or the 9 men in New York.
This “new light” goes ALLLLLLL the way back to the original self-proclaimed Faithful Slave, Charles Taze Russell, who said repeatedly throughout his writings those weren’t his words, but God’s words. He also taught no one could understand them without his publications.
JF Rutherford then carried on that same verbiage, even going as far to claim he wasn’t led by Holy Spirit by God’s angels themselves.
When 2012 came, the Governing Body revealed they, ALONE, are the Faithful & Discreet Slave & are appointed to lead & teach God’s ppl.
The Governing Body claims to be apart of the 144,000, but only they specifically have Holy Spirit guiding them to feed everyone, including the other remaining members of the 139,991 members of the anointed. So in reality, they r saying no one can understand the Bible without those 9 men teachings.
Look at it like this, it a pyramid:
1. Jehovah
2. Jesus*
3. Governing Body
4. The Governing Body Branch Committees
5. Circuit Overseer
6. Elders
7. Congregants (including the remnant of the 144,000)
*Jesus has been relegated to a chief messenger (Michael The Arc Angel), & the brother of the Governing Body. In fact, they teach He is the 144,001.
