    I use coroplast as the main ramp material, its super flexible, strong, and weatherproof forever

    That's awesome! I've been thinking about building one... BUT... I have very limited space. I have a fancy mountain bike ramp but it's like a damn puzzle to set it up, so it doesn't happen very often. I need to see if I can think of a way to make one like yours that I can put hinges on to fold it up as close to flat as possible.

    Finally someone shows how to build a ramp because I'm cheap. Rather sent it on my car when it breaks. Thank you.

    • @pnwRCMADNESS
      @pnwRCMADNESS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your welcome! It’s fairly cheap and will last a long time and not crack like plastic. And it actually turned out fairly lite!

    This ramp building video is better than the rest I've seen, woodworkers always pre-drill!!

    I’ll could use a jig saw, but this is a perfect project to bring out the ole’ Sawzall! I use to cut Ferrari’s and mini-pick-ups into convertibles back in the 80’s with it. Woohoo!

    I like how you did those grooves so the plywood could flex.

    you need a push-stick for that table saw.

    • @pnwRCMADNESS
      @pnwRCMADNESS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do have a push stick attached to the saw.. I only use it though for pieces that are under 1” so far after 22 years I still have all my fingers🤘🏼💯

    Nice work. So the question is this - when it's rainy or if the ramp gets wet, how can you improve traction? Some of the lighter RC's (slash, stampede, etc) won't stay true as a lot of guys pull the trigger harder on the ramp causing the backend to go out.

    • @pnwRCMADNESS
      @pnwRCMADNESS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for tuning in! I think I could probably get some traction sheets. For maybe like stairs on wood? And most the time I’ll never be in the rain but this got me thinking now. 💯🤙🤜🏻🤛🏻

    • @sbeamers
      @sbeamers 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yw. Interested to see what ya come up with. I have tried those traction sheets but they either won't stay tacked down or they get torn up after a short while. What about a thin layer of cement mix - hopefully not too much as it would get heavy but something that will not wear out too fast.

      Ad an old piece of carpet or rug , works in the dry too

    If you start from the right side once you make your first cut using your straight edge you could just guide yourself using the base plate and wouldn't have to keep setting resetting your straight edge. It be alot faster

    How high is the tallest point to start the curve ????

    • @pnwRCMADNESS
      @pnwRCMADNESS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      CAMARO630HP- I was at 8 inches and I’ve added some legs to it so I can have it a bit taller also. Super simple and very lite weight also 💯

    2 questions,
    -How much would something like this cost to make?
    -Is the rc car effected by the edge at the start of the ramp? Opposed to making a flush with the ground kind of edge

    • @pnwRCMADNESS
      @pnwRCMADNESS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not a lot. Maybe 25-30 bucks. And the small lip at the front is ok. No problems with that. You could add a small metal plate of sheet metal.
