I've done this trip many times in a non EV. Is it worth the time and inconvenience in a Tesla? Thinking about taking my Model Y to Los Angeles! Also, how much time was each charge on average? Any insight appreciated thanks!
It wasn't much of an inconvenience except for the fact that we deliberately planned all the stops at or near a supercharger. Luckily charging usually had to be done every two to three hours which matches up well for a bathroom or snack break. There was one stretch that was kind of worrying going through the mountains near the Oregon and California border since it took a lot of energy and there was not as many charging stops available. Most stops were about 15-25 minute stops but we charged extra long for that mountainous area.
@@Loaded0 Thank you for the detailed response. This is very helpful. I'll make my first road trip to SoCal because of this. I was very worried about this being a hassle requiring lots of stops and time wasted. Bravo this will sure help alot of Summer travelers! Thanks!
To charge the car or total trip? Charging the car was usually between 20-40 minutes each stop. As for the whole trip we did it over 3 days and it was so long ago I don’t really remember.

What was your total cost of charging the car one way from LA to Seattle?
Prices differ a bit based on where you charge, but one way came out to around $90.
