    This is absolutely superb in the attention to detail and I followed it absolutely yesterday in the build of my first 3D printer the Ender 3x Pro. I watched it 3 times before I even received my printer! I found one tiny little error. At 34:40 you say the mounting screws for the Z-axis motor are M4x16. This is the wrong length, it should be M4x18. There actually are M4x16 screws in the kit, but the ones needed are the m4x18 countersunk heads. The video clearly shows countersunk screws but I did not see this at first and I went for the wrong screws. Well done, thank you so much for the best ever build video, and the voice is so reassuring.

    Thank you so much for this awesome video. Got mine assembled and leveled fairly quickly following your excellent step by step guide. I unpacked it last night, the instructions with it had me lost, then looked at someone else’s video on TH-cam that I was unable to follow.
    The only mistake I made was to get the limit switch connectors for x and z axis mixed up (even though they clearly labeled). Boy it is not easy to unplug those little connectors. Just printed my first part for trial that I exported out of SolidWorks. Man, I am impressed. I also learned that the adjustment of the four table height adjusters is very critical. I had the nozzle too high initially, my 16mm cylinder I was printing would not stick to the table and started moving around as it was printing. Bringing the table closer to the nozzle and adding a “brim” at the bottom remedied that problem.
    Thanks again for posting this awesome video. I would not be printing already without it.

    Thank you! Thank you! And Thank you!!!!
    I have an Ender 3 I purchased a while ago, but I never had time to assemble, calibrate and print with the machine because of my job. I recently put it together and I was looking to do a quick set up and print to make sure it works since it's just been sitting there for weeks. As with all newbies that have a little technical know-how, you think things should be fairly easy and smooth. "Far from it" is being very generous in this instance.
    I thought the bed was leveled and it wasn't, scratched it the first time I tried to print. I thought the profile was good ... Naw!!!! Not by a long shot. I looked at a few vids to try to get my bearings and I was thoroughly unimpressed with their directions and walkthrough. I was getting close to giving up and scrapping it for another day. Then I ran into this video and said this has to work on this will be on the shelf for a little longer. Instantly I saw the difference in instruction and directions. I was able to set up things properly in about 30 minutes and I do mean everything. Bed leveling, temp adjustments, other calibrations, it all went smoothly. In fact, the most time I spent in the process was with the bed leveling. (It took about 15 minutes to get it fully completed.) Even the walkthrough with Cura was on point to give a newbie like me a good understanding of the software and what I should be doing. I know I'll need to study more, but for a starting point, this is fantastic! If you are new to 3d printing like I am, this is your best starting point. I am not one to leave reviews but I had to do so cause this just saved my 3d printing life!

    This was super helpful thank you. It's my first 3d printer and i currently have a dog coming out! Soon to move on to visors for health workers. I had a few issues with the X-axis gantry step - it didnt seem to align properly and i had to force it a little - on the video you didnt mention it. Also at the end i was a bit unclear why we were heating things up before alignment. And finally the 'Home' button leaves the nozzle off the edge of the plate, which i was (am) confused about. Oh and I bought a glass plate to go on, so had to adjust the z-stop. Overall though your explanation was superb.

    Just a tip, I wouldn't recommend using the preheat PLA function before doing bed leveling. If the nozzle is hot and you touch it to the bed, you risk creating small melted divots in the places the nozzle touches.

    It is good practice to unclip the electrical connections to motors before moving them along the extrusions as they will act as generators and could destroy your board.

      Andrew Hayes or just move them slowly

    • @PunakiviAddikti
      @PunakiviAddikti 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That shouldn't be a problem. There is a flyback diode inside the MOSFETs that drive the stepper motors. No voltage can get through them and back into the printer. When the MOSFETs are turning on, there is a small voltage drop. When they're fully on, the diode is basically shorted and doesn't affect the circuit.

    • @lostplshelp
      @lostplshelp 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PunakiviAddikti I don't believe that is entirely true - When moving the z axis on my 3 pro by hand at anything other than a snail's pace the display on the printer will briefly light up. This is with the printer unplugged, mind you.

    Excellent video! I watched this and was able to assemble the kit in an hour or so without any major issues. One problem that I had to deal with was replacing the clip on the wires for the z-axis limit switch. Must have been damaged during shipping. After replacing with the male end of a 2S balance lead, I was up and running. I think that I will replace the Bowden tube with the Capricorn variant because the stock tube that came with my kit does not seem to say seated in the air fitting connected to the extruder. Finally, another mod I will incorporate is to remove the spool holder from the top of the printer. Thanks! Keep the content coming!!
