Thanks for the review. I just received this model in army green, watched your review before and it helped my decision! Awesome guitar, great setup out of the box and fast neck. :)
I have same guitar . The buzzing I was getting too but found poor grounding to be the issue. I changed the pots as both pots went bad in less then a year of owning they where cutting in and out . While I had it apart I found very poorly painted grounding paint . Repaint the cavity and under the pickups as well. Put new pots in and make sure the black coating is not preventing the floating bridge from making good ground as well . I also painted inside the spring cavity and redid the ground inside of there as well. Made a huge improvement. I wish I would have gotten the cheaper stop tail bridge model instead but overall is a great guitar.
That white with the black outline looks sweet. I have a Jackson Adrian Smith Signature "green/blk" with the Dimebag pickup set. I think I want a metal riffer like the v, then eventually pull out the Dimebag set out of my strat and throw something similar to what Adrian used in the 80s. Great review!
Thanks a lot, man! Let me know how everything shakes out. The V shape is definitely a love/hate thing among guitarists. Dimebag forever! Watch it go! Keep shredding! 🤘🤘
Thanks, man! That 8-ball was a scentsy warmer to make the room smell nice. Not the “metal” answer you were thinking of. Lol. I do recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for a V shape guitar. It looks good, plays well and is a solid guitar for only $300-$320. Let me know if you get it and how you like it. Keep shredding. 🤘🤘
If you plan on using the whammy bar a lot and dive bombs then it will not be a good fit. It just doesn’t hold tuning well when big dumps. But if you like doing little accents or minor ups and downs then it should be fine. I don’t use the whammy bar a lot at all, I just like the look and feel of it.
Getting my black JS32 V in the mail today!! Seems they switched to Poplar body’s which may be brighter? Either way I’m excited!! Had it setup and intonated to D standard tuning through Sweetwater sound. Hope it arrives okay in this cold front here in Colorado? Thanks for the review and wow your playing is amazing!!
Thanks, Nik! The cold might interfere with your tuning right out of the box. It’s been cold as heck in Chicago lately as well. The guitar overall will be fine but you might have to undo the nuts to get a good tuning. Sweetwater is a good company with great techs. I’m not super concerned about it. Enjoy the shred machine!!!!! 🤘
Stu's World it’ll be my first Floyd rose so Im ready man & you should come out with a video on how to take care of a Floyd rose and how to keep it in good tuning I think it would really be a great tutorial like the Floyd test but thanks for getting back with man I’ll soon check out my local shop been eyeing this guitar for a while now
I ordered the black one with white bevels fro Sweetwater. Anxiously awaiting what this guitar, especially the LFR will be like. I watched your whammy stress test so i am not expecting too much in that aspect, but maybe with some gently whammy use it will hold its tune. Definitely love the shape and looks of these guitars. I own a Jackson Kelly for decades so i love Jackson guitars. This neck’s profile looks even thinner than on my Kelly so definitely curious how it plays. Thanks for the cool review videos on this model guitar. Kick ass 🤘😎👍
Thanks, man! You should be fine with some light whammy bar stuff but I think you're going to really enjoy the axe. I have been a big fan of King Vs for 20+ years. The necks on Jacksons are just my style. Not too thick and not too thin. Let me know how you like it when it come in!
Been GASing for a V shaped guitar to contrast the absolute death metal machine that is my... tele? and I'm thinking I might end up getting the Rhoads bodied version of this. They seem to have amazing build quality for the price from the few I've held, and the pups don't sound nearly as muddy as most of the ~$200-350 humbuckers I've heard. One thing I must ask: I've heard some iffy things regarding tuning stability, and your torture test seems to come up with similar results, but as somebody who wants a floyd more for the feel, and at most will just block it off and maybe use a divebomb or two while recording, it should hold tuning fine, no? I'll probably be running 12-54 strings in Open Bmin (B F# B D F# B), if that matters at all. Also, one final note- I greatly appreciate that you don't forget rhythm guitar is a thing that exists in metal. So many people just shred lead lines in their demos, and don't bother to at least play a few good thrashy riffs, and it kills me when I'm trying to hear what an amp, guitar, etc. sounds like. Always nice to hear somebody on YT who's kickass in both roles
Yeah, the build quality really isn't that bad for the price range. The Rhoads version (thanks for spelling his name correctly. haha) is sweet as well. I just prefer the full V shape due to how I play. I do have a Rhoads guitar but it needs some love. The thicker strings at lower tunings might hurt the tuning stability and cause it to slip even more. There are a lot of factors that play into a guitar's tuning stability and its made even more complicated by having a Floyd Rose (especially when it's a "licensed" one). You SHOULD be fine with doing a couple of divebombs but depending on how you bring the bar back up could throw it out of tune. Don't worry about it too much in the studio, rage that shit and let your emotions give you the best take possible. You can always tune it back up and keep on trucking. That was always a pet peeve of mine when I am watching a "metal" demo and no one is giving me a straight chug or metal riff. I try to include some riffing and some shredding stuff to cover the sounds that I think guitarists at most playing levels can relate and understand the tonality of the guitar or amp. I also keep the keys simple (typically E minor or A minor) because who the hell isn't familiar with those scales? lol. I think that mostly playing those scales and keeping the patterns I play relatively the same throughout my videos can help people decide between products. They can just hop between my videos and hear the difference since I am not trying to overcomplicate anything. Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it. Rock on!
Stu's World I did, Every time I see the Jackson logo though I get angry cause my DK7M Dinky 7 I bought for 900 bucks isn't a good deal for the price. It's more like a 200 dollar guitar. From now on I'm buying ESP unless I win the lottery. Then I'm gonna buy a Custom USA 7 String Jackson.
Did you ever replace the licensed Floyd with a real one? I'm curious because I have the same guitar and would like to know if it's just a drag and drop type deal or if it doesn't fit the cavity. I've heard some conflicting reports on different sites.
No I haven't. I bought it to be a backup guitar but since I cannot be a band right now it has been pretty unused. I am going to take it into my luthier and see how big of a bitch it would be. I have read the same issues so maybe I should record the process and make a video on it and post the parts used to help out other people in a similar situation.
Hey Stu awesome video and great playing! I’m close to buying a Jackson js32. It’s gonna be my first floyd rose guitar. Did you set it up out of the box. I don’t use the whammy bar so much but just wanted one. Since I don’t have experience in setting up a guitar, I’m not sure if I would be good to go out of the box.
I did have the guitar set up once I got it. I always have guitars set up when I first get them. Out of the box, if the neck isn’t out of whack then simply restringing it should be good. Restringing a Floyd rose is definitely a different experience. I personally hate it. Lol. Keep shredding! 🤘🤘

Great video dude I’m buying this guitar next week! Any tips or help on how to set up the floyd and keep the guitar in tune to do deep dive bombs and stuff? Thanks!
I did a video where I “torture” tested the Floyd rose and it isn’t that good at holding its tuning with dive bombs and such. There are a bunch of comments on that video that offer up ideas on how to help that but I personally haven’t tried any of them because I don’t use the whammy bar a lot. Keep me updated on this, though. Keep shredding 🤘🤘
@@StusWorld Thanks for the reply man! Seen the vid and watched it again as well as your other vids, I really appreciate the comment I subscribed and I have my notifications on. You shred so good bro! Best wishes during these unprecedented times!
Dunno if you remember me from earlier this year, I'm reconsidering buying this and using it for low tuned stuff. I wonder if it'll be as good as my VMNT.
Gwyn's Last Knight now that mustaine moved to dean I want to get the silver vmntx . How is your dean?I have this exact king v In the video and it's great but how is the dean overall playability?
It should be fairly comparable. I do not have a ton of experience with the VMNT but if I remember correctly the neck on the VMNT is about 2mm thicker at the 12th fret. So you do get a little bit of a thicker neck with the Dean if I am correct. That thickness might help out with the low tunings but I have no way of testing that since I don't have that guitar. Having both of those guitars in your lineup would be a good thing, though.
Jacob, I love it, worth every penny. It's super accessible on the high notes because of the jumbo frets and the strings it comes with feel great too. It's a solid tone and a solid buy. Not to mention stays in perfect tune with all the bending I do.
Great question! I actually did a Floyd rose torture test video on this guitar. It’s decent but it isn’t a real Floyd rose. I would give it about a 5. It’s there and will hold for a bit but not recommended if you do dive bombs and shit.
Stu's World I am thinking of buying it as my 4th guitar, Jackson is great and badass as fuck and I wanna play Ozzy Osbourne On it, can you do a sustain test soon on a low line AMP and then on a High Line AMP like your Randall box one? I mean like try the sustain in a high quality AMP vs a cheap one and see if the sustain is any good on the cheap one, I just subscribed I hope you can I’ll stay in tune in your channel. Keep rocking hard, see you.
I love Randall! But I’ve owned a few and every one of them buzz like a beehive... I can take the same guitar and plug into a Marshall and not hear as bad.. noise gate helps a lot bro.
Hey, great video! Just one question, did the guitar have a lot of fret buzz when you got it? Thanks for all the information and keep up with the good work 🤘🏻
Thank, man! I honestly cannot remember how much fret buzz this came with. I would imagine there would be a little but I set it up almost straight away. I was really excited about it. Haha. Keep shredding 🤘🤘
I really want to buy this guitar for my 2nd one but I am afraid of the Floyd rose does it go out of tune randomly or just when you use the whammy alot i wanted to buy the white js32t model without a tremolo so i can avoid trouble but it doesn t have any left in my country and I don't really like the black one i want to use this one just for thrash metal riffs and some shredding without using the tremolo of course and maybe some divebombs not so slayer soloing kinda stuff so can you please tell me is it good for a second guitar or should I get a js32t guitar without a Floyd rose?. Also nice shredding dude rock on.
Thanks, man! I actually did a Floyd rose torture test on this guitar. It’s fine with some mild vibrato on the whammy but it starts slipping once you do screams, dive bombs and crazy slayer type stuff. Maybe hitting one dive bomb at the end of a solo would be fine but continued hammering would definitely make it go out of tune. I barely use a whammy except for some vibrato or a scream and it’s just fine overall. I just prefer the feel of the Floyd rose on my picking hand. For riffing it’s just fine and a damn good looking guitar. If you’re doing Vai or Slayer stuff then you’re in trouble. Haha. Hope that helps. Let me know what you end up going with.
I was only afraid for a reason that it's my first one with Floyd rose and i don't know wtf a Floyd rose is and it would detune randomly as i play even not using the whammy now i have done a little bit of research and i also remembered that Jackson has owner's manual and it says there how to restring or tune.If i just need to tune it a little bit if I do scream or dive bombs it's okay I mean this is what fine tuners are for right? Anyway thanks for answering i will update you if i get the guitar (i will get it maybe in like 3 or 4 months btw i don't have enough money XD) this video helped me alot and also your most recent one where you talk about speed picking and that you need to be calm you are an awesome guitarist keep making videos man
What is the difference between this JS32 King V and the Inferno Red JS32 King V which has covered pickups and chrome hardware? (well, obviously besides the body color) Are these the same just with/without pickup covers?
Yeah, it appears to be the same guitar with different paint job and pickup covers. So should be a good buy but be careful of the Floyd Rose. If you plan on going Kerry King crazy or do big dive bombs then be aware that it will not hold tuning. Just being honest. I don’t really use the whammy bar so I really enjoy the guitar. Keep shredding 🤘🤘
Awesome review, Brilliant playing and tone sir. I too am buying this one soon. Big fan of you. 🤩😍😍👏👏👏👏👑🎸💀 btw I need to get that chuggy distortion like yours in this video where you played riffs. and I do have a mini rectifier and I am also buying a boss metal zone mt-2 and will boost on a mini. Right now I have an Ibanez ts-9 tube screamer pedal and when I turn on, it’s not great but ok. So do let me know sir. And again you’re a great player. A perfectly perfect demo of my fav guitar ever boss. Cheers from India 🇮🇳
I really don't know if I should grt thr guitar, many say that the floyd rose is garbage, but I really like this guitar, plus i'm on a low budget. Would you help me out, should I get it?
Great question. I did a video where I put the “licensed” (cheap) Floyd Rose through a sort of “torture test” and it didn’t go too well. Its fine if you do some light vibrato with the whammy bar, but if you’re planning on doing some crazy slayer type stuff then it won’t hold tuning. I personally really like the guitar. For $300 you get a good shape, cool white body with black bevels, neck binding and the classic Jackson c shape neck. It really depends on how much you plan on abusing the licensed Floyd Rose.
Hello Stu. Would you recommend the JS32 Kelly with a Floyd Rose for a beginner? As a starter guitar that is. I have heard that it gets out of tune? What's your experience?
Hey hey! I think it’s a great starter guitar. The locking system is a “licensed” Floyd rose so it will slip its tuning easier than a regular Floyd rose. I made a video where I torture test the Floyd rose. I would post the link here but I’m out of state and don’t know how to do it on my phone. As long as you aren’t planning on going all Slayer crazy all the time.....it’s great as a starter.
hey Stu.. me planning to get this as my 1st Electric guitar... It would also be the 1st time ill encounter a Floyd Rose too!!! (I mean I am ready to face the tricky tuning that a Floyd Rose brings in!!) I mean i also saw your abuse test video... and it made me think a bit TBH So, your recommendation? Shall I go for it? would it be a good 1st electric to own?? thanks man... peace \m/
If you don’t plan on hammering the Floyd rose then you should be just fine with the guitar. If you plan on doing insane Slayer type solos where you’re slamming the bar then it might become a big pain in the butt with always tuning it up. So it depends on how you want to use the whammy bar. If you don’t really use the whammy that much (I don’t ever really use it. I just prefer how the bridge feels on my hand when palm muting) then it really won’t be an issue.
@@StusWorld ok.. well like i said it would be my 1st electric... So i cant be sure what ill do with it ...go all Randy Rhodes on it or keep doing Dive bombs ... Will depend upon which strings the guitar pulls in me, i think... Hahahaha ... Alternatively, if it goes outta tune, the dive bombs help kick it back into tune like i saw on your abuse video... So i guess we have a way out here.. eh?? Rofl
@@StusWorld i think... I should just get it... And then find out :D Love the styling of this piece nd what all it beings in within budget... Hence so inclined towards this King V Any other suggestions for guitars??
There’s a bunch of guitars out there that would work but I personally always seem to gravitate to the Jackson King V. Let me know how you like the JS32 as your first. They also make the JS32T which is a hard tail version but I’m not sure if it will be the same color scheme
@@StusWorld ok.. yeah... Ill be getting it soon... Will update you... PRS is also in consideration :) .. but then even i feel inclined towards Jacksons hahaha
I would go with the Jackson. I’ve had a couple BC Rich guitar and there really isn’t anything wrong with them. I’m just not a big fan of the warlock shape and prefer V shape. So that’s my biased opinion. Haha.
My preference is the King V. Always has been. I do have a RR but I’m not as big of a fan. I prefer the look of the king v (or full v) and I also use the lower wing to prop the guitar against my leg for support when I’m playing certain techniques. That’s just my take, though.
I can't seem to find these around anymore for a cheap price. Have they been discontinued? Either way, this is a great guitar. An easy component replacement and setup, and it's almost as good as the neck-thru Jacksons. And yeah, I'm not sure if tonewoods really play a factor, but I've noticed differences. People always seem to bitch at me about me saying wood can have an effect on tone. They think it's a "marketing gimmick," it might be, I don't know...
I am not sure if they have been discontinued. It looks like the website I buy gear from still has them. The people saying that wood has no effect on sound are out of their minds. They probably play the intro of "Master of Puppets" on the E and A string because they can't hear that the notes are all played on the E string. Don't listen to them. Guitars are a vibration instrument and everything you do to a guitar will have an effect of the resonance of the sound waves. Of course there will be things (like changing pickups) that will have a huge tonal change but that doesn't mean nothing else affects the sound just because it's not as large as a pickup change.
Good question. I think I had bad power at my old apartment. I recently moved into a house and the noise is much better. Going to invest in a power conditioner to eliminate that.
Thanks, man! These models are manufactured in their China shop. Hope you enjoy the guitar if you decide to buy one. Check out the Floyd rose torture test I did before you make your final decision. Rock on!
Guitar good, Bridge is pathetic. Licensed Floyd rose is trash. Can do crazy badass shit on it in standard tuning, it can’t even hold tuning under heavy use. It’s trash. It’s a great affordable metal machine though, but if your a heavy Floyd rose user, I recommend not buying guitars with licensed parts
*casually melts off your face while shredding* hey everybody, Stu here, today we're gonna be doing a review...

That buzz you here is that fucking Randal
Haha. I’m no Sherlock Holmes but I get the sense that you’re not a big Randall fan.
Anyway thanks for answering i will update you if i get the guitar (i will get it maybe in like 3 or 4 months btw i don't have enough money XD) this video helped me alot and also your most recent one where you talk about speed picking and that you need to be calm you are an awesome guitarist keep making videos man
Whoa you shred bro. I subbed 🤘🎸
Thanks, man! 🤘🤘
That Hughes n kettner sounds good! I have 3 hooked up running thru Vintage Marshalls \,,/, you sound badass
Thanks, man! And always good to meet a fellow H&K user. I still have mine and still loving it! 🤘🤘
I just got one the kelly getting floydrose skull knobs dimarzio x2n &deactivator x afterburner pot coil tapping and straplocks
hey Stu.. me planning to get this as my 1st Electric guitar... It would also be the 1st time ill encounter a Floyd Rose too!!! (I mean I am ready to face the tricky tuning that a Floyd Rose brings in!!) I mean i also saw your abuse test video... and it made me think a bit TBH
So, your recommendation?
And then find out :D
Love the styling of this piece nd what all it beings in within budget... Hence so inclined towards this King V
Any other suggestions for guitars??
There’s a bunch of guitars out there that would work but I personally always seem to gravitate to the Jackson King V. Let me know how you like the JS32 as your first. They also make the JS32T which is a hard tail version but I’m not sure if it will be the same color scheme
@@StusWorld ok.. yeah... Ill be getting it soon... Will update you... PRS is also in consideration :) .. but then even i feel inclined towards Jacksons hahaha
My flying v friend! Nice!
I love my V’s! Much to the anger of most guitarists. Haha
@@StusWorld true. Very true. I love both my V's. But tuning the floyd rose and adjusting it properly is such a pain honestly XD
What should i buy?? This jackson js32 king v? Or vc rich kfk ghostflame?
I would go with the Jackson. I’ve had a couple BC Rich guitar and there really isn’t anything wrong with them. I’m just not a big fan of the warlock shape and prefer V shape. So that’s my biased opinion. Haha.
I'm torn between this one and the js32 rr...please help , don't know which to get
My preference is the King V. Always has been. I do have a RR but I’m not as big of a fan. I prefer the look of the king v (or full v) and I also use the lower wing to prop the guitar against my leg for support when I’m playing certain techniques. That’s just my take, though.
@@StusWorld king v it is then! Thanks for the feedback🤘
What is your opinion on guitars made in Indonesia or Japan?
Japan
great review :)
Yeah, I feel vibrations through the body when I'm playing. I don't know what these guys are on about. 😂
All over places like Sweetwater, American Musical, and Zzounds.
Yes, I found those ones the instant I finished typing my initial comment. 😂
There's scalpers on eBay selling King Vs for 1200 bucks, lol.
They may be for the non js32 models.
What songs were you playing? Btw you play amazing!
Thanks, man! I was just riffing off the top of my head. Nothing written. It’s all about jamming and having a good time!
Stu's World man I kept replaying these little riffs they sounds so awesome especially the clean tones ones! Anyways keep on rocking you shred!!
you can shred real good man!!!
Thanks, man! 🤘
For 300 bucks, you are getting a huge bang for your buck.
Is it normal to have that much noise or are they not grounded properly?
Good question. I think I had bad power at my old apartment. I recently moved into a house and the noise is much better. Going to invest in a power conditioner to eliminate that.
I dont think the ground them right all 9 of mine siund like that
Sound
Is there only plain black??
Absolutely! If you don’t want Floyd Rose then looks at the JS32T for the hard tail version.
Keep shredding 🤘🤘
wish they had this with no Floyd in that color
Agreed! I would love a hard tail version of this guitar
I’m thinking about getting one of these. Where is it manufactured? Great playing by the way
Thanks, man! These models are manufactured in their China shop. Hope you enjoy the guitar if you decide to buy one. Check out the Floyd rose torture test I did before you make your final decision. Rock on!
Signal Chain?
No more videos?
Subbed.
Bybye
I’m a simple guy so the signal chain is the guitar straight into my Hughes and Kettner Switchblade head. Haha. 🤘
@@StusWorld Lol.
Do you will post new videos soon?
Subbed.
Bye
What's your tuning
I use different tunings all the time (mostly standard). I think with this I was in standard E. Maybe E flat.
How much for the price?
That specific guitar I purchased for $320. Don’t regret it at all.
how much does this guitar weigh?
The listed weight is a little over 16lbs or 7kg. I haven’t weighed my guitar to check against that.
Keep shredding 🤘🤘
At Sweetwater the Gloss Black versions are weighing in like 6lbs 12oz to 7lbs.
very nice review
Thanks, man!
more vids please :c
Kinda looks like it ivory instead of pure white .....?
you look a bit like Kerry King :D
Thanks! I’ve gotten that a lot on my channel so it must be true 😂😂
Keep shredding 🤘🤘
Never noticed that but now I only see it
Guitar good, Bridge is pathetic. Licensed Floyd rose is trash. Can do crazy badass shit on it in standard tuning, it can’t even hold tuning under heavy use. It’s trash. It’s a great affordable metal machine though, but if your a heavy Floyd rose user, I recommend not buying guitars with licensed parts
except for that pile of shit Gibson came out with...
😆😂🤣🤣🤣😆
i agree
