Its so nice to see someone actually play the synths while displaying what the pedal can achieve, instead of endlessly rambling about what is technically happening and pressing a few random keys.
You must be kidding. This guy doesn't now shit how to use these fantastic pedals. This is complete joke to me. But Strymon are fantastic pedals if used in right way.
Yep, I bought a BigSky for my P06. A slightly expensive luxury. 😀 It's good, but the P06 effects aren't that bad either. But after listening to this superb demo, I think I should tweak a few more of my presets. To suit performance with a P06 synth. Also, I just fell in love with your Deco Mr and Mrs Strymon, by the way. It overloaded my DSi Tempest when used as an insert. But when used on my send channels, well that is sumptuous compression and superior stereo spacing in one! And now I have to ration the amount each synth or drum machine receives, before my mix is completely soaked in that believable analog goodness. 🤓
I'd like to hear what is that your comparing the DSI to? Yes there are other ones out there that can do more stuff and are maybe even cheaper but I wouldn't call DSI sub par.
I'm so in love with this promotional video.. lol. I regularly come back and watch what he did with the Pedal. I want to sound like that. And just the fact that there is no talking, just explained settings and music.. Thank you for doing it this way!
cartesiaLive gear can perfectly help pay bills if you take music as a career rather than a hobby. you don't really need it because digital audio counterparts are good enough for most people, but my point still stands.
OH MAN I CAN'T WAIT TO GET ONE OF THESE. The trails between presets, ease of changing presets, the list goes on. People who hate on this pedal should take a production course and learn how to use reverb. This thing is so freaking amazing, any bad tones are down purely down to user error.
I've been listening to reviews mainly with guitar but as a keyboard/synth player this demo has helped me to make a decision to get one and the quality of playing is fantastic - inspirational ! Thank you.
This pedal is definately added to my next-to-buy-list. I think it’s one of the lushest reverb-pedal ever made. The Strymon seems to bring any sound into a completely another dimension/world.
I've had this pedal for nearly a year now, and I'm certain I've only scratched the surface of it. Huge sound, and a lot to play with. Shame there's only 24 hours in a day!
Im absolutely certain that these pedals have inspired me in a way that i never thought a machine could. You're not only buying a pedal, you're buying more creativity and possibilities with these pedals. Thank you strymon,
Paul Castelluzzo Thank you so much! Love your playing style. Please tag us in any videos you post while using Strymon. Enjoyed checking out the videos you have now, they are lovely :)
@Robin Fitton - That is actually the tweed road case for Peter's Therevox ET-4.3. We though it looked cool so we used it in the video to place the BigSky. :)
Oh man! What a difference it makes to be an amazing musician, playing some of the most fantastic electronic keyboards ever through this AWESOME reverb. I'm sold. Thanks SO much for posting this.
This video put it over the top for me. Props to #Strymon for killer marketing materials and social media presence. Went out and bought my very own BigSky today at Gelb Music in Redwood City, Ca. Going to create an external FX loop from my audio interface so I can run my analog gear, drum tracks, and guitars through it. Can't wait to see what sounds I can create with it!
+Neil Jan I was lucky enough to snag a prophet 08 Limited edition signed by Dave Smith #150 and I am going to be getting the BlueSky (sorry no big sky) soon and can't wait to give it a go! I just hope this BlueSky I'm ordering in won't be a dud like the one at the store! I was so excited and me and the sales tech plugged it (with my guitar) in and nothing came out of it! It was the only one in the store, but I did get to try the Flint which sounded great! Awesome playing for sure!
+BinaryReaper Sorry that you had trouble with the blueSky at a store. Can you let me know which dealer you were at to make sure that we have that taken care of? Thanks for checking us out! :)
+strymon Hey Strymon, the dealer was Long and McQuade in Halifax NS. They actually immediately called the Strymon rep when we discovered the issue so they did what they could. At first they thought it might be because the wrong power supply was used but after using the strymon PSU still no sound. The favorites light would pulse as though it was receiving input but there was no out put from the pedal. Again the Flint sounded great, and I do have another BlueSky on order and trying to keep hopes up 2nd times the charm! Once I do get it if all is good I will put up some videos of it with the Prophet 08! More people need to use these pedals with synths too!
in the first half of this vid, I actually really like how far away the player is from the big sky. It shows how well this pedal dose in a situation where you select a preset and just play your flippin instrument. It's a realistic display of it's common real world use IMO.
Thank you. This was a very helpful demo. I especially thank you for putting the specific parameter settings you used across the bottom of the screen. Really well done.
So glad that you liked Peter's performance and the sounds that were created. Please tag us if you post any videos with your BigSky would love to hear them :D

I like rambling though.
I don’t mind a little rambling, but can’t stand when someone punches up one arpeggiation on a synth and lets it run for 20 minutes.
I know right! : )
Wow. An effects pedal demo using a synthesizer. Very rare and much needed. Thanks. Everybody raves about this Big Sky Reverb.
+Steven Streight Thanks so much. We have quite a few synth players over here, so makes us happy to be able to provide these videos.
Matt Damon, you are amazing...this pedal is crazy. Imagine this with a chorus pedal too. Oh my sweet Jesus...I'm blown away.
Strymon should partner with Dave Smith to put some real effects on the next product he comes out with.
That's brilliant!
+1000!!
Both companies use Sharc DSP processing
I would be soo keen.

Strymon BigSky makes all synthesizers to the best.
4:45 is where it's at.
Sells not only the Big Sky to me, but the Nord, too.
is that a song? the one on 4:45
Sounds like Radiohead - In Limbo
RowdyRestlessRaven Thanks!! Sounds Great
he's not actually playing the song, bit it sounds a bit similar ! c:
RowdyRestlessRaven Yeah i figured :P
This guy and Andy from ProGuitarShops need to form a band.
Mike hermans!
God damnit Strymon.
I just spent over 2K on new gear, when I really shouldn't have. Now you're making me try to justify another $500.... so lush.
research before you buy
no I didn't mean I wasted it.. I mean I really shouldve spent my money on responsible life kinda things like bills and such

@7:15 Pink Floyd. Best reverb pedal Ever. Endless amount of creative possibilities
Fantastic demo of a fantastic reverb unit!!!! Amazing sound!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!!!
love that murky jazz piano sound at 1:45!
Has the old time, "remember when..." vibe. Love it when a musician can bring up a time gone by or coming in from the future.
Great demo Strymon and Peter!
Sounds excellent with the ET-4.3, but I could be a bit biased :)
Say what you wanna say, but this reverb is among the very best in the world.. Astonishing
Thanks for sharing this, now i need one!
the demo that made me pull the trigger.

When I grow up, I want a Big Sky. Best damned reverb I ever heard.
1:54 he's thinking "damnnnnnnnnnnn this sounds good"
What he did at 8:09 with the attack and release to simulate sidechain compression just blew my mind.
ikr?

PLEASE Strymon, build a multi-fx rack version of your pedals!! They are so friggin great but also really a mess on a producer desk :/
Thanks for the feedback. We can't guarantee anything, but we are always happy to note what would be of interest. Will pass along your feedback :D
strymon i second that.. a multi-fx version would be a rock solid selection for any keyboardist
strymon I would choose a Strymon Multi-Effects option over my Apollo in a heartbeat. Even if it's twice as expensive.
even if not a multi, (half?) rack versions of their individual effects would be brilliant!
I bought this pedal based solely on this demo video. Great work showcasing the pedal's wide range of effects.
