    Will just the gasket be OK to use by its self?

      Nope, leaks in my experience.
      I used 90 min permatex, no gasket.

    Hello sir! I have a question, what did you use to clean the surface where the pump is fastened and the inside of the pulley with? (looks like sandpaper, but what type?)

    • @albertbarth997
      @albertbarth997 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most likely Emery Cloth its called. It looks like sandpaper but its not and comes in different grit sizes.

    The fan shroud does not have to come out.....plenty of room. Upper hose is not in the way either....

    What kind of tape did you put on the pipe going into the water pump?

    • @TheScorchius
      @TheScorchius 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It is most likely teflon tape.

    You also have to move the power steering pump bracket out of the way. Just saying !

      Yes it is that way on my '98 ZJ. They are doing this on a WJ in the video.

      I didn't have to on my 92 XJ, just required a little finessing, only unbolted the fan from the clutch to get a little extra room to get the shroud out, was able to wiggle it out gently and slide it out on an angle, did need to remove the idler pulley to let the inlet tube have room to pull out

    Flange to flange requires ANAEROBIC sealants. That black RTV will not cure 100% and cause leaks later. Why, no oxygen to cure it inside two smooth flanges.

      A clutch fan? I took mine out because it was failing/ you can run off just a electric fan
