Really great job with this video. Your voice is even, volume consistent, good use of live sound mingled with over voice. You looked ahead for possibly issues, which is always a plus. Thank you for the video!
Great video, thanks for making. Just did this job. As a tip, if you measure to somewhere on the hub you can eliminate all the variables with the new part.
Maybe I'm wrong ,but I'm changing that part at the moment and mine is stock ,nut. On top and yours is upside down and in my opinion the nut should be on top..maybe that's what made yours wear out faster

If you measured to the tie rod end stud center. You should've just put it back on to that distance and not worry about number of turns it made!! Or really anything pertaining to the threads. You could've saved yourself that whole issue and expense.
ive done lots of these he made a mistake ! he didnt measure the old tie rod to the center of the end then turn the new one on no matter how long or short it is and measure it to the center of the end and make sure its the exact same length of the old one before tightening it down if he did then no alignment it would have been needed.

Fantastic diy video, thank you for uploading
PERFECT VIDEO - I could follow it easily!!! Thank You
Great vid mate👍
Love it. What you’ll need is a adjustable spanner. Haven’t herd that since 1982. In Yemen. We do not have spanners or boots🤗
Why measure if you don't use the measurement to adjust the new tie rod end?
Very helpful. Thank you.
If the tie rod end is off by a thred would your car jurks driving down the road?
Wouldn't say it would jerk, depends what you mean, the tires will drag a little and steering might feel twitchy.
Top vid, as usual! Thx!
long as you have measurement your all good. don't have to be that care full
is there a guid for inner tie rods and stabilizer link?
great video, thanks
Great stuff!
Are the left and right outer tie rod ends Identical?
Yes.
@@CraigsDIY if they are identical, why are they sold as, "left outer" and "right outer"?
@@scales57 They're not identical, they're sided

Different cars put them different orientations.
My 2010 Mondeo's the same, nut on top and not on the bottom
Great video
Good Work
Thank you
Weird because on my 2010 Mondeo the studs point up with the nut on top rather than the other way around like this

10:41 is this movement normal?
Yes it's just the inner joint, it has to articulate too. So long as it's not loose or slack as discussed earlier.
@@CraigsDIY thank's !!
Strange... my tie rod ends were in the opposite way to yours (with the big nut on the top)

Tuning fork with a 3 lb hammer works great

Why not just measure the exposed threads?
Could you not just use your first measurements to the center on the joint to avoid realignment?
Why didn’t you just measure and adjust it?
What kind of Ford is that

This bloke sounds like Jack Dee
... and the passenger side is the opposite way around 😅 ffs
