    Ian just flexing how good he is at what he does.
    JW, “I want [x] flight and distance” *uses super modified shaft to point its not giving what it should be in shape, distance, and feel*
    Ian, “yeah use your 5 with a normal shaft and choke down 3/4 an inch”
    *gives exact distance and flight he wanted.*

    I’ll still hold the TXG boys in a separate frame of mind from Club Champ. I just don’t equate the elite fitting prowess of these guys with a company with egregious business practices. Such a shame.

      @bh4872 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm curious what business practices you're referencing? I was thinking about going to them for a fitting at a future time but should I go somewhere else?

    • @Mextorf39
      @Mextorf39 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bh4872 I've had 4 fittings at Club Champion always expecting a better result the next time. Every time I go in and say, if we can, try to stick to the stock shaft offerings to to reduce cost. Every single time, I'm shown a final bill of 2x what it should be.
      1. They order shafts and heads separately from the manufacturers and build them custom - meaning you pay for the price of the iron heads + the cost of the shafts for every iron.
      2. The "PUR" every iron shaft for $35 per iron shaft. It's a bogus technology that TXG themselves entirely debunked. It's "finding the optimal shaft orientation" but there is zero evidence to support it. So theres another $35 x 7 added to your cost
      3. Sales pressure to buy - I've never seen someone so disappointed when I said, "thanks for the fitting, I can buy it a lot cheaper elsewhere". Got 3 follow-up emails with my $1,100 driver quote asking if I was ready to buy yet. Incessant pressure to buy.
      Club Champ has become nothing more than a glorified sales operation for exorbitantly priced golf clubs. The fitting itself is fine - but buy your clubs elsewhere

Thanks again! I'm trying out the rogue st max Heavenwood, idk man shaft is super long, I think it a 4 wood lenth for 20 degrees loft, but very cool fairway wood!

    I know a lot of people upset with the re-brand. However, this is the thing that virtually all small business owners set out to do: create a quality product successful enough in marketing for a given region and selling that business to a larger entity that can help offset the financial liabilities of broadening the area of influence. I would assume that as long as Ian and Mikey are involved the locations formerly known as TXG should retain high levels of quality. Unfortunately, club champion as a whole is so decentralized from what it was originally that some people have had less than ideal experiences.
    Be happy for Ian and the team. This is a major milestone for all of their hard work and dedication to the craft.

    Came here to see some input on the new UW -- which I just bought on a whim as I've always struggled with hybrids (current was TM stealth + 17 with LA Golf shaft) -- the 2024 UW is a winner for me -- but (and its confirmed here) -- the fact that it uses a fairway shaft cut to 41.5 inch length raises concerns about reshafting options (hence why the tipping and length was not "working"" here) -- thankfully I really liked the MMT that it comes with (which I didn't in other clubs) -- so that might have something to do with how Callaway cut/tipped the shaft to pair it with the UW -- I'm gonna to leave as is (I bought a DI 7x to potentially swap) as trying to get the tipping/cutting and therefore swingweight correct on such a major length change could be a challenge -- the UW is an amazing club though for the right player.

      A Ventus Blue TR at that! That's crazy! They are already really tip stiff and even Fujikura recommends only tipping if necessary. Being that you're trying to build a club that flies 225 and has adequate spin to stop quickly on the green, probably the 8X TR striaght in would have been OK, but really the Ventus Red 8X would be ideal. The thing about these UWs is that they are not high spinning heads.
      Even Phil is playing the UW with the Ventus Red 9X.

    What are the standard lengths you build fairway woods to? Wunder says his 5 wood is 1/4 inch longer than 7 wood at 41.5. Seems like most OEMs build 5 woods to 42 1/4 or 42.5 now. Even in Ian's custom Taylormade fairway wood video he mentions his 3W is 1/4 inch short at 42.75 and 5 wood 3/4 inch short at 41.5. So that would mean standard is 43 for 3W, 42 1/4 for 5W and 41 1/4 for 7W? It seems to blur the line a lot talking about cutting 5W down or longer 7W, what lengths are we saying it's shorter or longer than?

    So I’m looking at getting a UW, but I hit the ball very similar to Johnny (naturally hit a high ball). I use a x-stiff Ventus black TR 70 in my driver and 4 wood. Have a very fast transition, with around a 115-120 club head speed with my driver… would the stock MMT be too soft/go to high for me? Or should I stick with a low launch/low spin shaft? Would like to get the UW to stick rather than roll out a bunch. Thanks in advance!

    • @clubchampionmedia
      @clubchampionmedia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Hitch... our answer is always going to get fitted. With that said, with your club head speed with the driver, it's nearly a given that stock shaft wouldn't be a great fit for you if you're trying to get the most out of it.
