I used to do this all the time with my Harlequin Macaw. He loved it.
What a trusting bird!
She loves it
@ParrotWizard Yes,she does! It's delightfully obvious! It's also obvious that you love and respect her. Thank you! 🙂🦜❤️
That is one happy skittle chicken
Skittle chicken….
So interesting! I had no idea about this. Seems like he really enjoys it.
Katie, my green winged macaw loves when I preen her.
My cockatiel does not want me to touch his head, but he rides around on my shoulder
Do her eye stripes molt? If so, do they get pin feathers?
Yes, yes, and yes I do open them sometimes
My birds doesn't like to do so. He used to allow before but now.
Training is a very effective way to maintain trust and behaviors that last the test of time. Teach your bird to allow touch and head scratches as an exercise so that the parrot can relax and actually enjoy it during casual interactions.
