@@TheJwhollis that's most definitely not a spiral wrapped rod, I own 2 myself. The eyes stay on top all the way to the tip. This is clearly visible at 03:16. The reason I was wondering if it was a spinning rod is because of how large the first eye is.... that is a trait of spinning rods, not conventional rods. The first eye, while not ginormous, is larger than you typically see on most conventional rods.
@@mdees88 eye is so large because it’s a rail rod, so the guides are closer to the reel and the handle is tougher and extends further, they need the large, high up, eye so when bent, the line doesn’t run on the rod
@@simplelifefishing436 you are right, they do have a 3 speed ex size reel, the glide plate on your ex has no perforated holes drilled out. the one on the video does hence i stated it looks like an hx size reel.

Avet only makes the 3 speed in hx or hxw size. That looks like a hxw because the hx is narrower.
