Congratulations Georgia! Your seminar is both interesting and informative! You expressed yourself very well! Thank you for your forth-coming approach. Wishing you all good-fortune for your present and future. Love.
Would have loved to have taken part in this; my A-levels weren’t as high as my peers and I missed out on my initial offer to Magdalene because of them, I then went Durham, dropped out for mental health reasons, reapplied and graduated this year from Hughes Hall with a double first which I never thought would be possible. This is a great initiative to help shed some of that imposter syndrome.
Well done, Georgia. Inspiring. One point about learning slower and differently: you may actually learn things more deeply, broadly and in many ways, more clearly than others who seem to learn faster. I'd hire you.
Exactly! The 'hurdles' she mentioned might actually be critical contemplation over questions of the full substance of rules as opposed to a superficial understanding. I once had a teacher who told me I wasn't a 'slow reader' but, rather, a 'thorough reader'. Similarly might be the case here. As an academic it is important not to be fearful but to attack problems head-on.

It is very easy to study such subjects of social science as law if you have good knowledge of sociology Natural intelligence is merely an advantage, but not the deciding factor for your success in reaching your goals. What can tell straight away whether you wil succeed in anything or not is your passion and intention for the knowldge which you want to achieve. Many quick-witted students turn out to be very shallow or to have superficial understanding of what they learn, which means that fast reading can be superfical understanding , and thus, merely quantity, whereas slow-reading can be deep or in-dept understanding or quality. In other words, learning fast does not mean to have better understanding of what are taught at universities
