      It’s still my favorite! We had it this week. It’s not quite budget friendly but a nice treat when you can. (And picking music is one of the hardest parts of the video! Lol. Glad you liked it.)

      I agree. It’s pricey! $150 per month on groceries??? Wow. That’s great. We budget about $100 per week (for 2)!!! That would leave us very little to spend on the other 2 meals. Every week is not happening!

    • @mahoganydrive
      @mahoganydrive  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep! I’ve done the math and looked at multiple services trying to figure out a way to avoid it but the bottom line is that I gotta cook. It’s just too expensive otherwise and I can’t justify it. The only easier option than Hungry Root is fully cooked meal services. I’d love it, but those are even more expensive. 😕

    Did you have to cut up the green onion for the tacos, or was it precut?

    • @mahoganydrive

      Yes I had to cut them. Sometimes the veggies are pre cut but I’d say the majority of the time they are not.

    • @mahoganydrive
      @mahoganydrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only tried the cookie dough and it was pretty good. I have to take into account that they are meant to be healthier so they aren’t quite as decadent as I might crave sometimes.

    Overpriced and the portions are small. They "lost my order" three different times.

    • @mahoganydrive
      @mahoganydrive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh bummer!!! There is no real excuse for that. I hope they made it right. For me, some of the portions left me wanting more but most of the time it was just right.

  • @jasonfernandes8571

    The most expensive thing you have in there is maybe $3 what you have is what nobody else wants to buy at the grocery store

      I won’t claim to know the prices of everything but More than a few times I’ve run into some of the brands we got in our hungry root box at Sprouts and they were a little on the pricey side. Like I would t buy it pricey side.

    4-8 weeks to pause it!!?? How are you supposed to know two months in advance?

    • @mahoganydrive

      You can pause it for 4-8 weeks if you know you don’t want to use it for an extended period of time. So it’s on pause and you don’t have to think about skipping any deliveries because none are coming for the next 4-8 weeks.

    • @mahoganydrive
      @mahoganydrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely seen! But never really looked THAT closely at the large caps. I have never cooked anything with those. I have cooked with small ones and only had to slice them in half and pre-sliced. I’m really not a fan of mushrooms period so I actually prefer not to eat them at all! This carving out the gill thing on the large ones was just gross to me.

    I see this commercial all the time. What does it mean to me. It's directed towards women, most women can't prepare food.
    And in general it's not cost-effective in women are lazy and just doing the right thing. The old days the mother cared enough to make a sandwich for the children to go to school. Now it's nothing but TV dinners

    • @mahoganydrive
      @mahoganydrive  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Well. That’s one way to look at it but I can’t say I agree. And it makes me wonder about the sandwich making rate of men also because i don’t see women as the only group of people responsible for keeping people fed. I do think in general people want convenience more than ever and these types of services do capitalize on that.

    • @jujujustme
      @jujujustme ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What are you talking about ja go? You're saying women can't prepare food? Women are lazy? Are you incredibly naive? Maybe you are young; or have had a rough childhood experience, and if so I am sorry. Yes, in today's environment, we (WOMEN AND MEN) work 1-3 jobs to provide for our family. Sometimes it's okay to substitute out a homemade meal with an alternative quick and nutritious option. And, by the way... I hardly think of H.R. or other meal plan services delivering fresh veggies and meat to our doors are in comparison to TV dinners.

    • @ritar6769
      @ritar6769 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you got 2 arms & a brain you better make your own sandwich vs waiting on a woman to fix one for you.
      I guess you not that hungry. And my mother taught me how to feed myself even as a kid
      It’s called being independent.
      Plus it good for people who don’t have much time

      Well...If a man wants the woman to be a full-time chef, housekeeper, primary childcare provider, etc, as in the old days...hopefully he's got his behind out there providing a full income so that she can. My husband does, and we both work more than full-time (with me working at home).
