- While in Fresno recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Chef Paul's Cafe, in a sketchy downtown area. Despite the Hood, the chicken was ten stars! Here is my meal and review.

It reminds me of Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken, but cost more. They now have a Gus' in LA, you reallllllllly ought to try it. It's amazing! Very well seasoned.

Looks good Rosie. When ur in Stockton i recommend a restaurant on upper wilson way. Been there since the fortys. Chinese American called the Far East. Old style big plate breakfast, served all day. Was our sunday go to. Sirloin burgers, great chinese food and good old fashioned american dinners. Its two blocks from my old house. Every ten years new owners come in but they must be related, food hasn't changed in fifty years.
YES!!! That's one of my restaurants anywhere! Nothing like a belly full of soul food and a snootfull of alcohol to chase the blues away! I am so glad you liked it. Indeed, you have landed in a Class 3 hood, and it appears that you've traveled into the Class 4 hoods as well while you were choochin' in Fresno. I'm tickled that you went to Chef Paul's. You can get fancier food in town, you can get more expensive food, but you can't get better food than Chef Paul's. ❤

Oh lordt, I hope the sketchy guy behind you wasn't a relative of mine. 😲 Three of my mom's 4 sisters ended up settling in, and raising big families in the Fresno and Chowchilla area.
