I loved Doc...you always had the feeling that he was part of scientific research for the war effort that he was not proud of. I watched Godzilla Minus one (and Minus Color) feeling like somewhere Ishiro Honda was smiling. If it had been possible this was the movie he wanted to make.

My understanding was that the ejector seat just needed to be fixed along with the rest of the plane. So when Tachibana saw it had the "capacity" to have an ejector seat installed, he did it anyway for Kōichi.

My absolute favorite moment is when Mizushima shows up at the last minute to help them with the tugboats. Captain Akitsu says, "I'll be damned! I gotta admit I'm glad to see him!" This line is delivered PERFECTLY and dudes facial expression is amazing.

They focus on the gimmick instead of the main reason that brought audience into cinema seats for real.
As soon as I finished watching it the first thing I thought was man that was a great story. It made you invested in everything at the end. You cared if each person died or survived because you knew the pain it would cause others if they did. I generally have not liked the big monster movies but this one was well worth watching.

In the Japanese version, she doesn't say the same thing to him at the end. They changed it for the dub and it changes the whole meaning. JP - "Is your war finally over?" ENG - “Can this war of yours finally be done?” Makes it sound like she's more annoyed instead of actually caring if his "war" is over.
The entire Ginza incident is an updated version of the one in the original 1954 version, where he raids Shinagawa, I would highly recommend watching the original even after watching GMO. They're not connected but it feels like they are, and they both have a different atmosphere and story, so it's still enjoyable.
I cried when he told his story because for the last 4 years after coming home from the army i can confirm i did the same shit. Never been to war but everything else still hurts like a mf. So when he killed Godzilla i was out off my couch screaming "FUCK YEAH!!!"
I really enjoyed seeing the human side of things too. A lot of character development and people putting their feelings aside to do the right thing. That made it a lot better for me as well.
I think you should do a ending explained for Willow Creek 2013 which is a found footage film that takes place in Willow Creek California and it is about a couple finding proof of the legendary Bigfoot

The director said there were G-cells in Noriko. Given the extensive trauma she sustained in the blast, she should have been reduced to jello but looked remarkably well except for the left eye patch. If she would have been a hybrid, her regenerated parts would look more Godzilla-like, but she looked like herself. The cells creeping up her neck were on the same side of her damaged left eye which suggest they would heal that remaining damage. I suggest that G-cells only have regenerative powers but not create a hybrid organism like Biollante. Also some of the 30,000 injured people may also have undergone regeneration

Something I personally find interesting about this Godzilla is how I genuinely saw this almost eldritch side to him. Shin Godzilla definitely had this element more blatantly, but the way this Godzilla regenerates his flesh and just comes back to life has this eldritch quality to his biology especially considering what may be happening with Noriko
Ask any real Godzilla fan and they will tell you that 90 mins of the G man smashing stuff 100% is a movie and it's the Godzilla movie we need to be made.

Just watched it on Netflix. Very good. After seeing Godzilla’s first atomic breath blast, I felt a real sense of dread. I was also glad conventional weapons never worked. There’s many movies where the weapons don’t work in the beginning but suddenly work later

I think it was a mistranslation in the subtitles because when I watched it on netflix it said he installed it.

He was genuinely frightening in this movie. The way he marched through the city and moved - not as fluidly as in the Legend films - was so eerie.
