  • Nowadays it’s rare to hear honest and thought-provoking conversations about real issues. Society has become so politically correct that what used to be considered common sense is now condemned as “hate speech” by some. Rabbi David Wolpe, Senior Rabbi of Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, who was named by Newsweek Magazine as the most influential rabbi in America joins Jesse Lee Peterson on this episode of TheFallenState TV. Rabbi Wolpe and Jesse tackle a host of issues including, the meaning of faith, the role of a rabbi, divorce, sin, same-sex weddings, being perfect, ‘racism,’ Jewish-Christian relationships, and anti-Semitism.

31:53 Jesse asked, "Are there white people who are racist against Jewish people?"
    Rabbi answered, "Yes."

That's why religion is ridiculous. You can point to this type of hypocrisy in every religion. People pick and choose which parts of which verses to follow, and they bend, distort, or frame passages to fit whatever agenda they're trying to accomplish.

As a middle-age white guy who has never met a genuinely racist person, watching a jew come to grips with how utterly racist he is, is absolutely priceless. Jesse gets right to the issue at 29:45. Too many jews just can't help but to blame white people for nearly everything. But of course, this doesn't extend to the incredible creation of modern civilization, obviously. Clearly, this is either a phobia or an agenda, because it has no basis in a western civilization that ENDED slavery and twice elected a black president.
Watching the deer in the headlights response to actually be asked to account for reason for Nazi antisemitism was also absolutely priceless.
I've become very tired of hearing the wildly overrepresented views of jews, but this was something different and something special!
Another fascinating and enlightening (I'm sure the Rabbi would agree) interview by Jesse Lee Peterson.

As per your little rant, we are one of the few religions that don't blame others for our problems. That's why we're the most successful religion per capita, we accept responsibility for our actions. But if you're going to come out with lies then you should also be held accountable. So the fact you said "jews just can't help but to blame white people for nearly everything" is absolute nonsense, a complete lie. Jews as a whole do not blame white people for anything.

Fabian, thank you for sharing your concerns with me. I truly do appreciate it.
Still, I've found Jesse's way of challenging others intriguing, direct and not without merit. The way he asks questions is what I find to be helpful in developing dialogue between others.
If what you say is true concerning Jesse's salvation I pray (sincerely) that he find the Lord. But, regardless, as the Apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:15-18: "It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice."
      Thanks for writing me Fabian!
      Lonnie (RevLon)

    • @PastorLonnie
      @PastorLonnie 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Fabian, I'm neither endorsing or condemning Jesse based on the passage found in Philippians. I really dislike writing over verbal communication because it's difficult to make certain that the reader 'hears' what one intends to 'say' with the correct intonation. That being said, I hope you'll take what I'm about to say in the spirit it is intended... one of gentleness and kindness and, hopefully, tempered by the Holy Spirit.
I don't know you or Jesse personally. But, I have been wronged by others and I have wronged others. In the case I think about most often (where I wronged a brother in Christ) I came to him and asked his forgiveness. Instead of forgiveness I was rebuked and asked to 'never tell him if I find what he says offensive because he didn't want to know.'
For months I was troubled by his response because I TRULY love this brother.
Then I realized that it wasn't so much his rebuke that was troubling me but, instead, my inappropriate reaction to his rebuke... I wasn't willing to forgive him for rebuking me after I'd laid aside all my ego and pride etc. to go to him and confess my sin towards him.
In other words, while I had taken the action I truly believe God prompted me to... as soon as my brother did not respond to me in the way I expected him to (and the way I believe God wanted him to) I TOOK UP a NEW offense.
It wasn't until I read (for umpteenth dozenth time) Matthew 18:15-35 and took what Jesus said and APPLIED it to the situation that I got relief.
Without a long discourse as to what exactly transpired, I came to a place of forgiveness quite literally because I realized it was the KING that was being sinned against -- both by my brother and by me. I've actually taught that EVERY sin, regardless of who perpetrates it or who it is towards, is, ultimately, a sin towards God (I believe I can show this to be Scriptural and logically true -- after all, all moral law begins with God).
So, since Jesus said to forgive someone seventy times seven (in essence, an infinite amount of times because it would be extraordinarily unlikely for one person to not only sin against you but to also ask forgiveness of you for the sin 490 times) AND because in Mark 11:25 Jesus tells us that when we pray, if we have anything against anyone, we must forgive them, I thought it best to simply give to my brother what God gives to both of us... grace and mercy.
Once I gave my expectations, my feelings of being wronged, of wronging my brother... MY SIN... to God I found that I could freely pray for him and, more than that, I WANTED to pray for him.
Fabian, I know my story doesn't intersect with your story as to your interactions with Jesse in all ways (perhaps not even in most ways) but I can promise you this: If have confronted him as we are commanded to do in Matthew 18 and, yet, he has not repented then you MUST also follow the commandment in verse 17 -- treat Jesse like a heathen.
Please note that treating Jesse like a heathen does NOT mean you discard him. Instead, it means that you should treat him like any other person who does not know the Lord and pray for the Holy Spirit to move in his heart so that he accepts Jesus and comes to salvation.
I believe the Scriptures are clear that we are not to harbor grudges regardless of how 'right' we are to feel negatively affected by a person. Further, it is NOT our place to bring a person to salvation... that is the job (the work) of the Father and the Holy Spirit. If you've thrown seed (i.e., told the truth to Jesse about Jesus) then let the Holy Spirit decide how Jesse will be dealt with. Once you've done your part by being a witness of the good news of Jesus the Christ... walk away until such time that the Holy Spirit invites you back (if He ever does). By letting God be the God over all... you will be free to rejoice that God IS in control!
Anyway, that's my two cents on the subject.
      Love and Respect,
      Lonnie (RevLon)

      @PastorLonnie 7 ปีที่แล้ว

Minister Fabian... I REALLY do understand how you feel. My story (the one I just related to you) was also about a minister whom I supported who misused his role.
But, since we are ALL called to be ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ (not just those who are paid to do it -- I don't draw any salary whatsoever... just so you know)... the offense you've taken needs to be turned over the Jesus so that you can go about His business unhindered by the desire to caution people against Jesse. Believe me... if one looks into Jesse they WILL find your video presentation(s) -- I did.

    Bible on Divorce -
    Luke 16:18 -
“Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
    Mathew 5:32 -
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
    Corinthians 7:39 -
"A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord."

    • @radiak55

Forever as in meant to be forever, if both parts decide to not keep the commitment an union, then it is no longer a forever binding relationship.
Additionally like the other poster said, New Testament verses are not applicable in Jewish Law. No matter how compelling they might be, it is not part of their law.

Love is passive, hate is active. Love requires no emotion. Hate requires emotion which fuels action. By this definition of love, if you don't hate then you love. Love is then synonymous with indifference.
Is this what Jesse means by love?
Jesse should publish his own dictionary, and share it with his guests before the interview.
Most of the disagreement and controversy in Jesse's interviews are simply due to the use of different language. He creates his own definitions of key words, like "man", "love or "racism", and then watches his guests try to figure out what he actually means. That, then, becomes the whole show.
