'Having a suitcase packed' reminds me about thoughts I've had about a bug-out bag ready to go, provisions stashed in secure locations along a well planned out route towards one's safe location.
You know, just in case of societal collapse, civil war, and evil doer's running rampant looking to do harm.
I thought that I'd be seeing that bag every day and my subconscious mind just might work on manifesting conditions where that packed bag might be needed, God forbid.

Rabbi, I cant speak for other people, but for me it is unbearable that the hostages have not been returned home. It weighs heavy on my heart each and every day. I am from South Africa and I disagree with some of the leaders on their stance of this war. ( Who by the way no longer have the majority in parliament, since last weeks elections, thank god)I proudly support Israel. If there are others like me, who are not even Jewish, then I hope that the Jewish people are safe worldwide. But given October 7th and the insanity of the responses, this question is real concern. I pray that 'NEVER AGAIN' is upheld by all humanity. God bless.
Today in Eretz Yisrael, it is blessed spiritually and physically, there is nothing lacking. I do not understand the logic to wait God forbid to a 1939 situation to decide then to leave. Who guarantees it will be so easy and possible, are you telling people to rely on miracles?

Though I am a Christian and a supporter of Israel as well as all the Jewish people, this verse needs to be better scrutinized in the context that it is given. There are many Christians who take a verse "out of context" and give it a meaning by itself rather than in the context where the meaning is more clearly understood. Whilst the prophets say that the Jewish people will return to their homeland, that time is only set with Hashem's calendar, which is unavailable to the mortal man.

@@te593 The passage does not say it's the Nile river. When you look at the map what sticks out is the Suez canal which was built in the late 1800's. I strongly suspect that's why the river was not named.

IMHO the safest place is to have complete trust in God and do not allow fear control you.
This is what God taught me when I was going through sleep paralyses 40 years ego and use to experience many nights of terror and I had trouble sleeping. I was caught up in God's presence, I did not see His face, but I did feel love and complete peace all around me.
God heard my prayers for help and brought my soul in His presence and said to me "Why do you have fears if you say all the time you trust me 100% and why do you pray to crosses that have no breath in them and can not help you?", then God said "Who do you choose to have control over you, Me or Fear?" Then God said to me very clearly... SEEK MY FACE/MY PRESENCE!
This was THE DAY when God took all my fears away, even the fear of death, when God showed me what I was doing wrong.... and corrected me. BLESSED BE HIS NAME FOREVER! ❤
I don't follow religions. I follow God's Word! I'm not saying I'm sinless, cause I'm not, I'm human and humans make mistakes. But when you have complete trust in our Heavenly Father, feel remorse when you sin, our heavenly Father will correct you and lead you to the right path.

Well personally speaking Rabbi knowing only slightly about Jewish History myself I would always feel a sence of elevated heightened precaution anywhere on planet earth. I'd say USA wouldn't be the worst country for a Jewish person. Yet I'm uncertain it's country's or rather a more darker global Forse. One of which targets firstly the Jews and then the rest of us.
