Loved the old style, but I'm also really diggin' this new style with all kinds of small little tips and tricks of the trade and the little 'skits' with iJessup. Keep going, matey!
gotta say, as much as i liked the story driven ship and crew vids, i'm really enjoying these more talky tutorial style vids. As a problem solver myself, i love seeing and learning other guy's progress and ways of figuring stuff out. great job Cap'!
Brett, I know I keep saying "best video yet" but this is- and it's not just the West Coast lighting either. Pacing, music, narration, and the journey through the idea are all great.
I'd say I really like your new style, but thruth be told it hasn't changed. It's always been inspiring, entertaining and relaxing. Regardless of the theme of the video being Pirate, Foolfly, Foamfly, Stickers, Animation or "just" Brett being Brett while making stuff, you always bring your good vibery wrapped in clean, perfectly colored editing in tune with the music and the work. You haven't changed, but you've definitely evolved. I really like it.
🤣old fashioned sand-blasting!! I really enjoyed seeing the honest 'seat of the pants' adaptations of this design...I'm fairly sure most of us creators can find an affinity with that....very few projects actually end up exactly as originally envisioned and afterall....it's the finished product that's important...not necessarily its evolution. Another cracking video Brett.👍😁
What an excellent way to start my Saturday. I am really enjoying the videos with the peppering of explanations, not too much talking and not too little... the Goldilocks zone! The old way of sand blasting was hilarious, especially the final one! Oh and 10/10 for the cartwheel, well executed!!
Super entertaining, while being really helpful in the teaching department, AND always the perfect musical accompaniment... Man brother, you nail it every time! And oh yeah, HEY EASTWOOD!, you should sponsor my brother Brett because he has a large, loyal following. And if he likes your product, I like your product...dig?
Great little project build Bret, liked how you showed all the little tips and tricks along the way and also the little mistakes and how you overcame them, a lot of guys would have just shown the finished article but who learns that way!!! As you said in the @foolswithtools podcast really enjoyed the start with the slide then move to the feet then move to the catch etc and just fix it in real time. Loved the olden way of sandblasting made me chuckle!! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🙏🏻
Love the on the fly editing of the design..... Much more real to life than most TH-camrs will show ye ! Cheers brother. Great work and keep em coming 👍
Thanks for sharing! I loved the old style of your videos. The dark mysterious atmosphere and the jokes with the skulls were your own unique style and I really enjoyed those.. Please reconsider changing your style! Stay unique!! :)
Another really great job. The sandblasting intro. Awesome. I mean how many welding/build videos have somersaults in the first few minutes? Not enough. That’s the answer damnit.
Nicely done. And, in the world of math, which you obviously did not use again, we always say, “You learn from your mistakes.” It just takes a hell of a lot longer. Love, Mom (the math teacher) #shortweldershavemusclestoo
Wonderful work captn"! I can honestly say that I'm impressed to see you work with a less tools and a different space (I'm certain that you've heard enough: "I could do that if I had a shop full of tools." Alas - my response is always "You could... but would you.") Definitely inspiring me to attempt to do more while we're in transition and I am temporarily shop-less... but that's a different bucket of fish. Bravo sir... Bravo!!!
Many smart! Such clever! 🤓👍 All those years of experience in problem solving and fabrication paid off! I can see why the step engaged you so much more than the main purpose of the build. BUILD MORE EXPERIMENTAL STUFF! ✊🤨❤🖤
Awesome- just sooooo awesome! Hi, I’m Laura, long time subscriber- first time commenter... lol! I just love everything about this video- the music is rockin’ and matched perfectly to how you put together the footage clips! Also your “jack-of-all-tradesmith-ness” gives so much technical inspiration! Keep up the great work brother, you make it look easy-peasy!
I really love all the little ideas you put into your brand and your style of storytelling! It makes your videos fun to watch, regardless if you want or need to build something similar...
Cool project and great instructional video! Nice traditional sandblasting moves, hope you don't let those skills fade away using the fancy new tool. 😁 Also: measure once, cut three times. Thanks for sharing!
Nice project, Brett! And great video and post production work, as always. Lovely Desert, Happy Life! (You know... kinda like “Clean Shop, Happy....” , oh never mind.)😉👍
Fantastic video!! Gettin’ some good learnin’ in there fer us all 👍🏼. The beginning sand blasting 😂😂!! Appreciate seeing that I’m not the only one who gets the measurements off and needs to rework a bit!! And totally digging the music. Yep, all around fantastic!!
Very good video Brett, some good fabricatIng tips in there like the caster plates, I’ve been putting caster plates on things for years and never thought of flipping the piece right way up so it would settle. Great mechanism on the pull out step too. Good on ya mate!
Your modifications were excellent. That new sandblaster should make things much easier than the old way👍 are you no longer working with Jimmy in his shop?
MORE magnetic squares for GOD of SQUARE !!! so many tips from Jimmy, realy cool school for makers) Just because you can, does not mean you should. ...But you can. - I have t-shirt from Alec Steele - It's not stupid if it's work :)))
Nice work! I might miss the Ship Shop, but Brett playing in the desert makes up for it! 😃 Is it just me, or has there been a drift in accent since the move? 😉
That really depends on your practice. It’s “easy” to run an ugly bead that will absolutely hold stew together. It takes time on the torch with knowledge of the material to get a clean weld that you know won’t break. Perfect practice makes perfect. I trust my welding nowadays but that’s about 3 years of diligent trial and error.
As always, too much mintiness to list in a reasonably sized comment, so main points: Brilliant tips, fun, yay for learning as ye go and most importantly the warm and fuzzies from the modification for First Mate Jess-up 🤗 Oh, and I might have said this before but THOSE MAGNETS ARE SO COOL 😁 ok, I'll stop now hehe 💜
Loved the old style, but I'm also really diggin' this new style with all kinds of small little tips and tricks of the trade and the little 'skits' with iJessup. Keep going, matey!

Squarest thing maker ranch have ever seen ;). I like the new direction with the vids.
Hahahah! You may be right. Thank you brother!

Problem solving is my favourite. Also reminds you that things can be fixed/changed and not to dwell on a “mistake”
the ijessup-step-up makes this adorable :-)
Mission accomplished then
Always fun to see a (subtle) classic Headdrop on the sandblaster 😁👍
It’s a must
So nice new editing and shots in this one, great project too. Also, nice to see that everyone makes mistakes and we learn from it.
We sure do... but fixing them. That’s what makes us might.
The fold away step stool is simply brilliant! Well done.
Brett, I know I keep saying "best video yet" but this is- and it's not just the West Coast lighting either. Pacing, music, narration, and the journey through the idea are all great.
Thank you as always brother
The old way of sandblasting! I may or may not have been rolling on the floor for a bit there. All the tips! And the add-on step! Nicely done, Cap'n!
I’d say mission accomplished then!
All I can say is fireball tool squares Will change your life my friend! Also great job both on the video and the build
We had them at Jim’s. Agreed, absolute game changer
I've got the same blasting cabinet and love it. Good to see you working with I-jessup again. 👍🏻
Cheers Jason!
Yeah boy. Design build as you go. That’s my style too.
Ohyeaaaaah
Look at that integrated step stool! We love to see it!
Hooray!
The mechanism and execution on the step was really smart and well done.
Thank you Craig
EXCELLENT reference video for all us non-fab, non-welding folks! Tonnes of tips and hacks. Great edit too 👍👍
Cheers Jamie
I like the "encore" format of this one. It's a pretty straightforward cart and then... Boom!, you flip it over and add a 6" JessUP.
I like this term... encore.
This is the perfect blend of classic Brett and maker ranch diy!
Well thank you!

I like too much to see my lovely youtubers working together!
Well good
Love your sense or humor
Whew... that’s a relief. My mom says I’m hilarious.
My Mum says I’m cool
Dude I so much prefer the desert lighting over Jimmy's shop lighting, it gives your videos a completely different energy.
Just wait till the ship shop finds a place to land...
That's not dessert lighting, that's the wild plains of Kansas. I've spent many years during harvest there. 👍🏻

Great video, loving the style and problem solving on the fly! Also thoroughly enjoyed the old style of sandblasting, best part 😂
Always on the fly my brother
Just found your channel and this project was awesome. Makes me want to get into welding. Great job.
Welding is such a great skill to learn, easy to start, and more affordable than people seem to expect
Great video, Brett! Per usual, loved the music and just seeing your personality! Also, excellent Hedberg call out. Hope all is well!
Thank you Ms Rachel. Hope things are well for you and yours.
That's cool. Love the live problem solving!

Another cool vid, Brett! Nothing like engineering on the fly. Especially when it works out.

Love it when it does
Once you had Jesses shoes you should have converted them into platform shoes!! That would have done the trick 😂😂😂!! Great video 👍
Where’s the fun in that ; )
Was a joy watching this come together over on Instagram and the combined video here is great.
