Pretty sure that's a game design choice they made. Some of us don't actually want connected glass textures, the glass lines are perfect for a more traditional looking window.
The normal glass texture without connection is pretty atrocious. And there are ways of implementing the options for both. It’s a no brainer addition. @@Snitram19

But you're right, I neglected to mention not all of these mods are available for 1.20. I don't see why you'd update to the most recent version of Minecraft if you intend to play it modded. Each version has its "prime" for modding - it used to be 1.12.2, 1.7.10 before that - currently it's 1.19.2, or 1.16.5 if you want to go one version lower than that. I'd just cut my losses and play 1.19.2 until most mods were made available for the version I want. That's where my suggestions come from. Also, the Effective-Illumination merge has not gone through yet, I'm still using both mods myself. I'd wager a very small chunk of players actually play the most recent version. The video also doesn't mention for which version it was made so I just assumed it'd be the most popular one.
I'm also currently doing this, there are many stuff that I've optimized and added to make the look alot better all the while keepin it fresh and not worsenin your framerates

Another tip to not obliterate your frame rate with the bushy leaves pack is to also grab the 'Better fast leaves' resource pack (also on VanillaTweaks), that way you can have nice chubby leaves without suffering single digit frames when you enter a forest

Hey fabulous settings are totally worth it, it fixes transparencies and hardly costs any fps. Bubbles will appear behind glass correctly. If you have access to it, IK some mods disable it
I apologize for commenting this on "how to make minecraft look better" video but i really want to have something like "unfresh animations", because i find a lot of newer mobs "too animated", i just personally like the og stiff and robotic look old mobs have, and i think it would be cool if someone found a way to remove all the "unnecessary" and "un-minecrafty" animations from newer mobs, without ruining them, like the warden for example, you can't just delete it's animations and call it a day, because it still needs to portray when it's doing its sonic charge attack or when it gets angry, i feel like it has to be replaced with something else that fits more of an old minecraft look, but i personally don't know what this change should look like
Also I could say the same about models, I liked the old vex model, but instead of making an allay look like vex, they made vex look like the allay, which I'm personally not a big fan of. What would the modern mobs look like if they were made several years ago?
I’m honestly not too sure on the pros and cons so I’d recommend having a look to see what would be better for you! I personally use Fabric as some of the mods I like to use require it :)

i would add mods that improved the vinilla experience, the only thing i would add is furniture mob if i'm feel like it and food mods. thats just me to have extra stuff i would like to suggested if you up for it, add in distance horizons which add LODs to minecraft

I really don't understand why not just adding all of those things to normal Minecraft, but making sure that they are removable on the menu so that everyone is happy. It's a sandbox game, but not everyone has mods (bedrock edition players have to pay for terrible mods full of limitations), so Mojang has to work hard to add as many things as possible
I don't understand the "Falling Leaves" thing. Today I hiked through a trail for 2 hours and I didn't see any falling leaves, and I was looking the whole time. It's *Spring* time and not Autumn, so of course leaves aren't falling all over the place nonstop. The problem with "Falling Leaves" mods is that they don't have any integration with seasons.

Theres a mod on modrinth called "Fog Looks Good Now" which makes fog look a lot nicer and is customizable. If you like how the fog looks in the video I think you will like that mod.

Can you make a video on how to install these? I've got Curseforge and tried both manual installs and using the app but I can only create ModPacks with 1 mod per pack, and I can't add any others into the same pack, so I'm only able to play Sodium version or FreshAnimation version, and can't merge them together. It's an incredibly frustrating and non-user friendly experience, even when using the one-click App functions - it only allows me to create ModPacks with 1 thing each... I can't be being an idiot here.

It's Reese's Sodium Options (Tex's Embeddium Options if on Forge), would definitely recommend using it with Sodium Extra as well for more options.

Fresh Animations feels so wrong in Minecraft. The blocky, rigid feel is the whole point.

@@dwarton7959 they use the mods sodium and iris (iris adds the shaders), they're compatible. optifine is incompatible with a lot of things
