I had a city that used to be named "Bridgetown" thinking it was a completely original name I had thought up 6 years ago, and I can say that it has upgraded from Bridgetown to Bridge City.
I like to think that the bridge town would be like a checkpoint for incoming boat visitors. If they want to enter the mountain area, they need to go through the bridge. Because of this, you could add a port and some boats underneath to add a small bit more life to the underside of the build. No name ideas from me, but rather some lore ideas!
This build makes me think of how London Bridge in the 17th century had buildings on it much like this, would always have been an interesting site to see in person
Ponte Vecchio in Firenze still has this (and likely where the London Bridge at the time drew inspiration from), same goes for that one bridge in Bath I forgot the name of.
I've got an idea. What if you name the village "Briggeton", from old english for bridge town? I suggested this since the town seems pretty medieval, especially with those towers. Great video as always, Marloe!
@@ashleysanford8645 it is a rather common name style in the UK, the same place where old English was spoken. I think the towns named with "-ton" have some etymological connection to the old English word for village, but we'll need someone smarter than me to confirm that 😆

This is really cozy and beautiful. As a new player, I'm in awe of your skill and enjoy your presentation style. Idea for the name of the town: Highroad Hamlet Bridgehaven Viaduct Village 🙂
I am imagining a bridge so old and ancient, no one truly knowing when it had gotten built, but people tend on just living their lives, with generations and generations of people living and picking away at the bridge. Fixing and reinforcing the bridge in unique ways. Secrets like carvings, messages, tunnels, and hidden rooms dot the bridge. So much time has passed that buildings are suspended from the bridge, some able to be lowered down to the water for a better fishing spot. The ocean beneath home to far scarier creatures than the forgotten creatures who may have built the bridge.
Having the different colored houses and the little overhangs and support pillars hanging over the side of the bridge adds so much dimensionality and visual interest to the build!!! I love your style. Keep up the good work.
loved the build! it could be fun to extend one of the "fire escapes" to the holes in the side of the bridge, so that the vilagers could have a hidden hideout.
Every town needs that neighbor who has a mushroom and purpur house. Everything looks great. I think the eclectic house colors go well with the consistent use of tuff, spruce and oak. I would just call it Lloyd Bridges and call it a day😀 Keep up the good work
I think "Peel Murfsten" would have it a bit of an innocence to it, considering it is a place of pilgrimage built atop of a bridge that has never been sieged since the day of its construction during a land grant or something. It's silly ideal concept of adding lore and history to it, and that's why I quite like it.
Living bridges are so cool! London Bridge used to be a living bridge! Haven’t seen the episode yet but I know from the tittle it’s going to be a living bridge.
Inspiring idea - I want to live there! I actually think Bridge Town is a good name, but maybe you can change it into "Bridgeton" to make it feel a couple of hundred years old. 📜
Marloe I love watching you build things, you are such an amazing builder and it always inspires me to hop back onto my Realms and continue with my builds! Thank you again for another great video and I hope to see another soon!
That is so cool! Busy isn't typically the best idea for a build, but in a format like this, it is quite literally THE BEST way to go about it. It looks beautiful! Honestly, I'm seriously thinking that I should try something like that sometime myself. Nice work!
This is such a good idea. It’s very cozy. I also love whatever motion mod you have for the mobs. It’s so cute and it makes the villagers way more charming. ❤
You have outdone yourself with this bridge town. I love it so much. The houses look magnificent! The bridge is awesome and the villagers add a fun touch to it. Bravo!
That's a beautiful build and I think it was a great choice to move villagers in. I almost always leave mine free to roam and I much prefer the experience of trading with free-roaming villagers. It's a bit tricky to keep them safe sometimes but I learn more about that in each village that I develop.
I like to think that the gatehouse on the bridge is used as a watch post for the bay at the foot of the mountains, and the surrounding town has grown over time as a sort of market for both local citizens and travelers. A cool name idea for the town could be Watchers Crossing!
This build is absolutely incredible! And just from that glimpse of the horse area, that also looks AMAZING! Is there a video on that?? Your buildings are so cool!
I find towns on bridges fascinating. I saw a few history videos showing these and wondered how they could build them! I am sure the main risk is the bridge’s durability over time
The city looks awesome. Reminds me of London Bridge. In medieval times, London Bridge (aka Tower Bridge) used to have a city/town on it very much like the one you made except in Tudor style. There were shops on the bridge too and restaurants and other services. Though they were destroyed due to the Great Fire of London. The villagers might turn into zombies or witches! But the village looks awesome.
It's amazing how many structures use bridges as a base...bridge cranes, coal pits, ore-docks, railroad signal bridges, ships(yes depending on who is talking they are either vehicles or structures) and scales.
Yoo my home city literally has a bridge like that (Krämerbrücke in Erfurt, Germany). In medieval times they often built homes on bridges due to space constrains, especially merchants settled there. Today there still a few of these left around the world. Cool build :)
Reminds me of Mont. Saint-Michel when I went there with my class, a lot of small tight spaces with a lot of people. One time we went through a super super narrow stair we had to go up sideways. Anyways love this like always, Marloe!
I LOVE your videos, Marloe! The amount of effort put into these projects are incomprehensible. You deserve more support considering the time utilized making these episodes. Hope you have a great day everyday!
i think this bridge town could have: - an Elevator in order to reach water level with maybe Boats under it or something - some greenery around bridge the bridge looks good, but i believe some greenery would add some wear to the bridge, like its not all new and has some age of its own, which would fit with the size of the town above cuz it didnt get built all at once right
The Chicken is the village mascot I have a few ideas for a name tho: -Sky Cooper (yes, it can be a play on the Sly Cooper video game series, but I was more thinking of the Chicken and "Flew the Coop") -Skypass (rather self-explanatory since it's the closest to realistically live amongst the clouds) -Chromarchia (combined "chroma" for the various colours + "arch" for the kind of bridge -ish) also lol at the Iron Golem being a bit too wide for the usual streets so has to stay up on the roofs xD
I LOVE it! Such a great idea and it came out fantastic! I think Bridge Town or Bridgetown is a fine name. Custom villages are my favorite thing in minecraft and this may be my favorite of all.
😂 Escapee’! The one that got on the roof …. 🤔maybe from that bridge between the two central towers? It appears there are no rails, although, if you used glass panes, perhaps they’re not visible?
This is such a cool concept. I don't really play or watch much Minecraft stuff, but I write and do a bunch of world building and this looked so interesting. Hope you don't mind but I'm definitely adding a little Bridgetown to my setting now
Reminds me of that one bridge in Florence -- really cool idea to make something like this in minecraft :) Even more because there are actual villagers living on it. As for a proper name of the village... Maybe you could think of something with the word ''arch''? As some kind of synonym for bridge :)
I 100% thought that there'd be some buildings that would go under the bridge to add more support but also more housing, cause a bridge village is cool, but what's even cooler is a bridge village where the village hangs off the sides and underside.
This build is so amazing and cozyyy. The diverse houses are so fun while keeping everything together. For fun would you use the mod Minecraft comes alive to make the towns folk match the houses as well? I hope you have a lovely day!!

I'm new here and probably will subscribe soon, based on the amount of amazing build you are doing, your voice which makes it more relaxing as the location of the builds is super cozy, although it's a little bit of nitpick of mine, wishing that the bridge could have gone a little bit wider so you can put rectangular/wide house(taking advantage of the side of the bridge) on each side of the bridge ➡️ If the bridge is really wide then another house again albeit a bit smaller than the house previously mentioned but if the bridge isn't that wide perhaps a merchant stall leaving for a better gap for a road (I have no complaint to the alleyway road though, in fact, I find it charming). I'm thinking Bridgetown or Briggeton(I like this name that's suggested by one of the commenter in the video) is a merchant guild location or a merchant town, and also since it already suggested A port below the bridge would add much more lore to this build. Anyway the snow biome/mountain behind this build kind of giving me the vibe of himalayan or something especially the colorful houses, and because of that too that it's give me Far Cry 4 vibe. Few more video and I'll subcribe, hoping you go back to the other build and update it too but at least take your time to do it, good job and take care always.
I love how all the buildings have different colours but are tied together through the wood frames/details. I tried to do a similar thing ages ago but got stuck. Now I know where I went wrong! I forgot to have a block/s to tie them all together. So keen to try it out again and see what happens. Also would naming the town 'Bridgerton' be too cursed? All the villagers can be in melodrama plots hehe (I would write diaries for them to put in their houses. And if you went and read through them all you'd figure out all the drama. But that's just cause I love adding really detailed lore and worldbuilding into my minecraft worlds.)
I genuinely grew up in a town called Bridgetown in Western Australia so seeing that the village was named Bridge Town was really special to me
I had a city that used to be named "Bridgetown" thinking it was a completely original name I had thought up 6 years ago, and I can say that it has upgraded from Bridgetown to Bridge City.

Oh yeah a little port and then a path up to the bridge so you can visit =)
That could sound like a dang good productive process to worldbuild. I like it 💯💯
