Spent 12 months in Funchal and I must say it was the best 12 months in my last past life. Awesome island with spectacular views, nature, ocean, people, food and easy and calm atmosphere.
E o splendoare , ce frumos , urmaresc toate video - urile din Madeira pe You - tube , imi place foarte mult , o s'a vizitez aceasta insula cat de curand.

Lovely video. We were part of a one day shorex Funchal bus tour, off of a cruise ship, in November, 2011. The weather was blustery and wet that day, but the beauty of this island still shined through.

The carriages don't go very fast and they don't take you all the way down, however is a lovely walk back to the waterfront. I hope you enjoy it and look forward to your video/vblog - you have an excellent travel channel too!

Congratulations on your marriage! Let me first say Madeira is a relatively small island, and Funchal is very easy to get around if you like walking. Historic is the the entire city. There are no sand beaches, instead find hotel pools, but do trips around for fantastic natural adventures around the island.

Thanks for your comments. Madeira is relatively small island but mountainous. Funchal is easy to get around on foot. Take the cable car to the top for great views, when there you will see the wicker carriages for your ride down.

My grandfather Americo De Abreu is from Funchal. He moved to the USA.
I am from the Azores and have moved and lived abroad. Funchal is very different than the Azores but beautiful the same.
This video was filmed in late Feb, it was warm enough to wear short sleeves but not hot, evenings were cool, not cold.

Glad you had a memorable time in Funchal, it was a nice visit for me too even though I was there in February... it was still warm enough to beat off the winter.
Your in Wallis and Futuna? Looks like an amazing place too, must admit this is new to me.. if I come to that side of the world I hope to also do a video on such an exotic place.
