GT, you have made a huge impact on my first tent grow! I’ve got four girls and they just started week 4 of flower, and they are beautiful! Thanks to the awesome content you provide, me and the “girls” appreciate you!
Man I am just now starting to use Cal Mag and this is my second season growing (1st time indoor) and I’ve been wondering when and how much to use. I appreciate all of your information and suggestions my friend!
Hi GT and Kevin, saw Kevin on food network on Guy's show great job on food city association. Now GT I apologize for my ADD that prevents me from watching entire videos but don't worry my grow is awesome. What I did get from this video is I am going to start checking my ppm of my tap water and my run off. I drain to waste but I am intrested in dialing back what I feed. Good luck and keep the good news coming
I use the following : Peatmoss Vermiculite Perlite Worm castings Bat guano Dr Earth PH Perfect CO2 generator * *CO2 seems to really help but it is only absorbed during the light cycle - helps with photosynthesis. I've had great results using CalMag only after trimming and in the evening. Works best when light is reduced evenings.

GT would cooled down hot spring water be a ok source of sulphur for my grow as mag sulphur and various other micro nutrients are not easily found here in Thailand.
Thanks for the great info GT. I have question about mag-sulfur. Is it the same as epson salt and if so, why not use a pinch of epson salt instead of buying an expensive bottle of Sweet? Thank you for all the great info brotha.
It's basically the same just measure ur Epson salt and read how much ppms it gave to ur water per gallon. Botanicare sweet and those other ones give u around 100 ppm per gallon. So just start off with like an 1/8 of a tsp per gallon and see how much ppms it gives u and fi from there. First measure ur plain water ur using first so u know how much Epson salt gave it
I'm experimenting right now using some super compost tea rather than chemical products after watching some videos of some indigenous farmers grow huge plants with it. Ive been wondering if theyre better for the roots too (and for my budget) and as a bonus its self sustainable in the end as I can make it right from my kitchen, giving the plants all the same nutrients. @Welcome to The GrowTent so I'd love to join the patreon but it seems the 2 entry tiers are sold out, which I'd like to start at. So if that becomes available I will gladly join. But my question was about defoliating in flower and the best way to go about it!
No need to defoliate unless its blocking a bud site. Even then you can just tuck it underneath. Remember your leafs are like solar panels for your plant. I dont defoliate any more and my plants do much better. Just gotta make sure you have air flow though
Why would you take away the very thing that turns light into usable sugars for the plants? Never defoliate. You can lollipop to send more energy to the tops but, never defoliate. Hope this helps.
When you measure ppm and it says 200. How do you know what those 200 parts per million are? What if 50 of those ppm are sulfur 50 are calcium and 100 is sodium i dunno im just asking how do you know what you are measuring?
@@WelcometoTheGrowTent I just tried to buy some and the Ace hardware was out. They have hydro nutes and a bunch of Mother Earth organic stuff but no cal mag today.
No, it's not "the exact same stuff on the inside." The first product shown has perfume that has an odor thats noticeable in the cured flower. The second product, no perfume. They both supply calcium and magnesium. My son and I used to frequent the same dispensary. He's one to try a lot of the different strains and he pointed out that a lot of the selections had the same background odor. Turns out that's the perfume in the bottle.
