also, alot of people are forgetting about stefano utoikamanu in for samoa, two years under the great bellyache will do wonders for stefano and he could be top 5 in the next 2-3 years, so a forward pack with haas, leota, tino, spencer, stefano and t may that is a world cup pack that may arguably be better than australia, what a world cup it’s going to be holy.

I wholeheartedly agree. He has that "F U Queensland" attitude NSW need to maintain to be a chance to keep winning. He has the footy IQ (spaces not faces), the respect of the current generation of players, and on top of that, it seems like (at least from the outside looking in) the State of Origin head coach role is more so about managing player personalities and getting them fired up for at least 2 games, but ideally 3. You're picking the best of the best, they already know how to play at the top level, they just need a leader of men to say, "go out there, front load, crush their soul, and maintain that aggression for the entire game".

Chur brothers, big fan of the poddy. Been listening since your YKTR days. Love what you guys do, from Mase’s straight up, honest chat to Hozz’s hypotheticals.
I’m a proud Samoan/Maori lad from NZ, living in Sydney. So here’s my take/predictions on the 2026 RLWC teams for my 2 heritage countries. Keep in mind I’m thinking 2 years ahead.
    Kiwi
    1. K. Kini
    2. R. Mulitalo
    3. C. Nicoll-Klokstad
    4. M. Timoko
    5. W. Warbrick
    6. D. Brown
    7. J. Hughes
    8. J. Fisher-Harris
    9. J. Marshall-King
    10. M. Leota
    11. B. Nikora
    12. I. Papali’i
    13. J. Tapine
    14. B. Smith
    15. N. Asofa-Solomona
    16. M. Niukore
    17. L. Thompson
    TAKE:
    1. The likes of Mulitalo and Leota will choose NZ because of the origin factor. Both have played for Samoa before but were told they were not eligible for Origin because they came to Australia too old (Over 13) so they chose NZ as Samoa probably weren’t the powerhouse they are back then. Leota also has that “Bash Bro’s” (a clothing brand they’ve started too) connection with Fish. Can’t be Bash Bro’s if they’re not playing together.
    2. NAS and Papali’i pick NZ as they are NZ born and breed with Samoan heritage.
    3. Also I put Mulitalo, Leota, NAS and Papali’i in the Kiwi team as Samoa have depth in those positions. Dylan Brown also has Samoan heritage but I just don’t see him not playing for the Kiwi.
    4. Keano Kini is the fullback. I think CNK won’t be the Warriors fullback so I couldn’t have him and what we saw from Kini for the Kiwi and with 2 more years experience… enough said. Taine Tuaupiki is someone to watch.
    5. I picked Warbrick over Isaako on the wing because he’s in the Storm system and they just develope players right. DWZ is another option but unsure as he was keen to represent his Tongan heritage.
    6. Timoko is a lock for one center spot but I think the other spot is up for grabs. I put CNK there as he’s an established NRL player and played there at the last world cup. Fingers crossed Joey Manu comes back. B. Simonsson is a shout. Seb Kris has also played for the Kiwi. Keep in eye on C. McLean and R. Berry to see how they develop in the next 2 years.
    7. Dally M Hughes and Dyl Brown are the halves. I think Fozzy might be abit old come WC time (same boat as DCE and B. Hunt) but his experience might be good for the team if he’s still running around. Also T. Martin as depth. CNK can cover 6, as we saw this year.
    8. I’ve put JMK at starting hooker over Cheese. I think Cheese offers more off the bench than JMK does.
    9. All fit and healthy and not suspended the forward pack/bench picks itself. G. Neame, J. Riki, S. Sorensen add depth.
    Samoa
    1. R. Tuivasa-Sheck
    2. M. Taulagi
    3. I. Tago
    4. S. Crichton
    5. B. To’o
    6. B. Talagi
    7. J. Luai
    8. S. Utoikamanu
    9. G. Chan Kum Tong
    10. P. Haas
    11. S. Blore
    12. J. Nanai
    13. T. Fa’asuamaleaui
    14. E. Clark
    15. S. Leniu
    16. T. May
    17. J. Su’a
    TAKE:
    1. The back 5 picks itself, with the likes of S. Fa’alogo, T. Talau and D. Mariner as cover/depth.
    2. Right now B. Talagi is the 6. Depending on how Penrith use him and how his development goes. Not many Pacific Island halves in the NRL, so there’s not much depth there. Jesse Arthars is someone I think could cover halves.
    3. I think Payne and Tino choose Samoa. I look back at last years Pacific Championships when Australia destroyed NZ in Rd 3 without these two and then they came back for the final and couldn’t score a point. With these two playing for Samoa they have great depth with Stefano, Payne, Tino, Leniu and May. Another reason why Leota plays for NZ. Royce Hunt is another player I wanted in but just couldn’t fit him in. J. Paulo and J. Papali’i I think may
    4. Young Gordy CKT is the only true Samoan hooker in the NRL. If he can get some regular game time he should develop well. So I got E. Clark at the 14 because he can play abit of lock aswell. Can make a case for C. Harris-Tavita.
    5. I put Blore starting at 2nd Row over Su’a because he’s in the Storm system. Su’a off the bench impacts more then Blore off the bench in my opinion. H. Luki and K. Tuilagi are also there as depth.
Just my opinion on these two teams leading up to the World Cup. If I get a shout on the poddy then I might send my Aus, Tonga, England, Fiji etc predidicted teams.
Keep doing your thing boys. I’ll be waiting for the notification of the next episode. Take care lads.

Loving it boys. I wouldnt complain if you kept yapping all over the off season to keep me going at work.
On mases comment about patty being too pretty in the front row, but collins being perfect, i remember when i first saw the qld lineup this year with collins and cotter as the props and thinking, "that is the most qld front row you can ask for" both dawgs, both mismatched in shape, both a bit smaller than the nsw boys, both outgunned, but both almost bulletproof. Loved seeing them in the 8 and 10 even if we lost.
Also on nanai, in this years origin series nanai made just shy of 150 tackles over the entire series, which is the most of any player.

Had an idea what if the nrl created a reserve grade as such with all the possible new teams the wooden Spooner of the nrl would have to play the top team of the reserve grade and risk relegation...thoughts?

Hahaha Scope, surely you've Carrigan infront of Yeo for the YT comments and creating abit of discussion in the chat. Irrespective of his being a few years older than Carrigan, Yeo is a generational lock. Arguably the most intelligent ball playing lock in the history of the game, and the man tears it up through the middle when he decides that's what he wants to do. His defence and fitness is undeniable. Kind of guy you would build a club around, surely you must be taking the piss

Boys, I'll tell you exactly why manly isn't playing in magic round next year. Every year manly has had one of their home games at Suncorp during magic round. We have had to vs the Broncos every time. Arguably the worst time to play them up there is this round!
The club made some extra cash from it. Seems like they didn't strike up that deal this year. Probably sick of getting pumped up there.
Next year Brisbane will play their first game at brooky oval since 2014, when Scope was in the team, which is nuts! 😂

Hey, gents. Not only do you both spend a lot of time talking about FOOTBALL (as opposed to controversies), I hugely appreciate how much airtime you give to international football.
As for Magic Round, it would seem to me that that would be the optimal time to play some great rivalry matches. Why not Broncos and Cowboys? Bunnies and Chooks? Eagles and Storm? Penny and Parra? Create a Gold Coast and Redcliffe rivalry? If the aim is bums on seats and high TV ratings.........????

Gday lovers, it’s a no brainer for those boys to play for Samoa (Sa-more) it’s good for the game and the next gen of pacific Island kids, like if OG played for Tongan with the likes of Sika Manu, Feleti Mateo, Willie Tonga, Issy Folau, Tony Williams, Manu Vatuvei to name a few would of been a legendary team to watch and the young gen to be inspired and proud of their culture. If there was a chance for the Samoa and Tongan to do history and beat AU/NZ/UK it’s the next World Cup! So I encourage and we all should for these guys to play for their heritage, imagine if the Finals was Samoa vs Tonga that will be the most watched RLWC GAME OF ALL TIME 🤌🏼🔥
