I just acquired this jacket as a warranty replacement (more later). In the US it’s called the Madagascar-R. I’ve only worn it on 2 or 3 ride outs and so far so great. It connects to my Rukka R.O.R. Pants which are a GTX laminate. However I do plan to get the matching pants as I’m done with laminated gear. I live in the SE US and it’s just too hot for most of the year to justify the cost of a laminated suit. Re:warranty replacement. This jacket replaced a Rukka R.O.R. jacket. In the US, we get a 5 year warranty. At 4.5 years old, my jacket lost a snap and that is the only justification they required in my case to replace the jacket at no cost. The R.O.R. jacket was $699 when I bought it. Do the math, 4.5 years later and for the original $699, I had the original jacket and now the Madagascar-R. Can’t complain about that.
I fully appreciate all the advantages of a suit with this type of construction but I'm a rain magnet and do a fair amount of my riding in Wales. Even in summer it soon gets old having to keep stopping every time it starts/stops raining.
As ever Chris a great review and finally a top quality ‘adventure’ suit from Rukka; I’m still getting value from my laminate proshell Rukka since 2016, though it’s rubbish in those rare British summer days when it’s hot(!) so have gone for the Raymore(?!) suit with a Scott waterproof for piece of mind. Should this new suit now replace all of that in one single package?…
I have seen this exact comment posted before, either by you or somebody else. But it simply doesn’t stack up. If biking is your passion, then I don’t see the price of this suit being beyond the reach of 99% of mere mortals. Take out finance over three years, and you will pay less than £75 a month for those three years. After that you will own a suit that may well last another 10 years, and of course the waterproof is guaranteed for life. Now £75 a month is what somebody would spend if they smoked just three cigarettes a day. A lot of people I come across, who are certainly mere mortals, smoke many more cigarettes than this a day, so you can have a jacket like this for far less than a pack of cigarettes a week. So, I simply don’t agree that an outfit like this is out of reach for 99% of mere mortals. CP
Only Rukka is like no questions asked, while Staler effectively tries to avoid paying to on real claims. I own both and my Rukka survives travel far better than Stadler. I broek a zipper, my fault and it was replaced at no cost. On my Stadler Tour Eve, the buttons failed, the GoreTex wasn't up to wear and tear and I have a hole on the backside of my knee. They wriggle out of the claims.. So what is a 10 year warranty for it they do not honour it.
The best review of this kit on the entire internet. Well done and thank you!

without doubt the best advice ever.
A beautiful bit of kit
Great review would like to see the inner over the jacket and will definitely consider this suit when heading for Spain and Morocco

Is the Trek R the same as the Madagascar? I’m in the U.S. and it seems to be the same? Thanks
Yes! They are one & the same, it took me some time to realize it!
Too expensive for 99% of us mere mortals. 😮

If you can't afford the suit, you can't afford to finance it. Great moto gear reviews, poor financial advice@@Motolegends
I love rukka gear and I often go to Waitrose ! Perfect 😍
"Best warranty in the industry". As a dealer, you should know that Stadler offers 10 years warranty...

At 6.9’ I would prefer the long trousers!
A nice piece but those two front pockets look shite. Perhaps it’s the manikin making them look stuck on?
Is this made in China like the other Rukka stuff?
Thank you!
£1049. Gulp.
Waitrose 😂
