I have always taken the Japanese people's reticence at expressing "outward" emotion as a form of stoicism. And as much as this may be their way in how they speak and in social interaction, your art, music, writing and cinema, cannot disguise exactly how truly deep and emotional the heart of the Japanese can be.
That is exactly why we are drawn towards these philosophies and behaviors.
I am very appreciative of this discussion. 🌺

Happy Holidays A.U.! It is 1 of the best JAPANESE CULTURAL PRESENTATIONS, outside books. It’d be great to discover books about JAPAN with the talks. Arigatou

    Thank you Azumi-san.
It is almost like there is more to say but you lack the tools for verbal expression..?. I have seen it so many times on my travels in Japan; this rich ‘field’ of awareness in the eyes of the people I met, this culture we call -how ironic - ‘emotionless’.
Thank you for your beautiful attempt❤

Is this expression of community emotion learned by example to the young, the little children!?

No, we are full of negative emotions just like most other "civilized" cultures : "Jealousy, Envy, Hate, Anger, Emptiness, Frustration, Inadequacy, Helplessness, Fear, Guilt, Loneliness, Depression, Suicidal Tendencies, Dubious Sexual Practices ... ". We just have developed a lot of flowery philosophies and practices to make all of these less apparent to the rest of the world ...
