Thankyou for showing the realistic problems /difficulties that keep it real. I know you work extremely hard for what you find. Your perseverance amazes me. U seem to be that typ of person. I have not been able to go door to door as I know it is hard to do.
Hey JD, you did it again. Every hunt I'm amazed. Can't wait to get a metal detector at 62 years old and find some treasures. Thanks for the video today!
you will enjoy every second of it- even when you do not find even a nail....any day with the detector is a great day....do your research before buying a detector.....dig,dig,dig
That DooDad with the Helmeted Fellow I believe represents a Roman Hematite. If you google Roman Hematite you'll see many similar representations on many items. I looked quite a bit but couldn't find anything presented in a diamond shape. Interestingly, many of the jewlery items with this design are done in intaglio. I suppose as a signet. I enjoy your channel, JD.
Nice to see you back detecting... I know it can't always be easy - I wouldn't really want someone digging up my lawn - unless you were going to pull the weeds as you went! HA! 😉👍🦘🐾🤞
I like the way you are showing the coins and relics cleaned up during the video and not just at the end. Nice Z28 Camaro across the street at the beginning of the video.
JD, just started watching this video on my big screen, had to pause it right at the 1:00 min. mark to go to my laptop to send you this comment. Thanks so much for talking about -that there are some days you just aren't up to knocking on people's doors and asking for permissions, or after a bunch of "no's" you drive around for an hour without asking. I worked 10 years in city & county government, in an authority position where I talked to people all day long, and it was a forte of mine-then I worked 10 years for a fortune 100 company in their Security division. Talked to folks ALL day long...point is, you'd think that there would be no problem walking up to a door and asking people for a permission. But there is, you are asking them to let some strange guy come and dig a whole bunch of holes in their yard for stuff he (you) is going to keep! A very unique situation indeed. Some days I've just driven around and seen a dozen houses I SHOULD be knocking at, only to drive off, not getting up the gumption to ask. But...now that I have been detecting for about a year and a half, the door knocking is getting a LITTLE easier, mainly because my epic 1922 property open permission that has gone so well has netted me 4 silvers, 3 of them bucket listers, my first Buffalo and scores more of incredible finds (my first 3 complete vintage bottles) that it has given me the confidence to approach more doors. And...my door knock yesterday of a 1923 house on the same street as the 1922 resulted in my FIRST silver war nickel. Thanks for letting us know that even a seasoned detectorist like yourself has those days, or times also. Appreciate the video, I'll go finish watching it now. Flthunder Diggin' Florida w/ Rob!
That Railroad nickel was sweet!!! Rare to find a nickel flattened! Cool hunt! I would love to find a cartwheel penny.....they weigh in at approx 28 grams... Sweet!!
The thing looks like the logo on an old coffee pot my mom had. I am thinking the name was guardsman or like that. They used to laugh when she plugged it in and called it a "wheelbarrow"! I will ask my cousin. She's older than me and has a great memory.
HEY JD THAT'S ALL UNDERSTANDABLE AND PART OF YOUR JOB AND SOMETIMES IT IS VERY HARD WORK AND UNPLEASANT. THEN WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE FINAL REWARDS SOMETIMES BECAUSE IT HELPS US KEEP GOING, GOD BLESS...John
You got me going. I clean up old basements for extra cash. Today I found a box with 60 rolls of pennies going through them now man you really got me rolling I got the treasure bug thanks a million LOL
Enjoyed it buddy.. I like the idea of keeping it real.. I think I might start recording the doors I ask to hunt as well.. Keeping it real.. Keep up the good work 😀
instead of wiping and grinding the dirt into the coins, may you should take a bottle of distilled water and rinse them so not to add extra damage to them.
Before they went to the cards, casinos used tokens like that for slots. They made them the same size as the Eisenhower dollars. I have a few older ones. I'm not sure but that casino might have been destroyed during the hurricanes that went through there in the early 2000's...Rita maybe? I know most of them were destroyed and only a few have been rebuilt. Love your videos!
The scariest thing that's ever happened to me while metal detecting happened yesterday. I was bored in my house and decided to go out beside my house in the woods. I was in a ditch in the woods beside the road when I hear someone yell " you know, if you come down here again, you'll most likely get shot." While I am still pretty sure I was still on my property, I got out of those woods as soon as he drove off.
Hey there JD. I could be wrong but I thought you have to hold the ring in one hand and diamond tester in the other and put the point perpendicular to the stone. Nice ring otherwise. Good luck and hh.
I was taught to pinpoint with a awl and dig a small hole back in the 90s. Of course they didn't have pin pointers back then . Do you think digging a plug is less invasive? Do u think the grass or ground recovers better?
The silver plated relic is Athena, Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Still trying to find what it came from but we know who she is. What metal is the relic made of?
Looks like it turned out to be some kind of neo-classic style belt top or ladies scarf clip. Kind of looks like a Joan of Arc character or maybe a female Amazonian warrior.
after I found the last silver dime 1963 Denver I got permission to a pre civil war house and found a 1818 matron head large cent and almost and a heart attack when I found it.
Slot machine token. Dime & quarter missed silver by one year, just like my luck with clad. If that diamond was real it would have more prongs never only 3. Still nice ring. GL HH
You were wearing the lucky undies again.......I hear a strange noise when driving down the freeway at 90..come for a ride i will show you.......dig,dig,dig
JD's Variety Channel -so every modern coin is clad? like, theyre all the same? quarters, nickles, dimes and pennies are copper core and plated with nickle? that means theyre worth less, right?
The traditional definition of clickbait is a title or thumbnail that has nothing to do with the video itself, more like a bait and switch. Which is something I don't do. My titles are commonly sensational. I have no problem with this considering there's a quality video to back it up. That is the marketing aspect of TH-cam. Clickbait, in it's traditional terminology is against TH-cam's terms and condition, and in nearly 6 years and nearly 1,000 videos I've never had a strike for a misleading title or thumbnail. For a brief period of time in 2016 I got lazy and pushed the envelope. But I snapped out of it and started to work harder in stead of trying to game the system.

Lynn Schmidt why wait until your 62 years old? Start now while you're younger.
you will enjoy every second of it- even when you do not find even a nail....any day with the detector is a great day....do your research before buying a detector.....dig,dig,dig
I'm already 62, yes when I get enough money together I hope to buy a detector. Thanks for caring!
Your voice sounds young. You are pretty sharp young man. 👍🇨🇦👐

JD... I enjoy watching your videos!! I know how hard and time consuming it is putting in the hard work, editing and all. Good job!! :-)
Super hunt! Good effort. HH 🤙Detectorist Tom.

Gulfport, MS Casino Token! That is even further south than I am! Great find!

Glad to see you back, been missing your videos. Another great video.
Glad to hear your coming out of your shell!

I do enjoy your videos, got a laugh out of muffler dude clip, good addition to the video ;-)
Great hunt! Had my fingers crossed for you on that ring - still nice!
You got me going. I clean up old basements for extra cash. Today I found a box with 60 rolls of pennies going through them now man you really got me rolling I got the treasure bug thanks a million LOL
Those neat roots are called air roots. They are a bane to homeowners and cause thousands in damage to driveways, sidewalks, and foundations.
Enjoyed it buddy.. I like the idea of keeping it real.. I think I might start recording the doors I ask to hunt as well.. Keeping it real.. Keep up the good work 😀

Great video dude! Be careful wearing the orange prison jump suit color clothing though. lol Keep up the great work dude.
Lol
Hey that's my ring! Lol 😆

That’s a beautiful ring!
Love the vids.. just had my first hunt . Found a old ring . Nothing like yours .
That's a great find for your first hunt!
Great token and ring, maybe you'll find a diamond ring one of these days JD. Take care and happy hunting.

That casino was wiped out in hurricane Katrina there is still one in Biloxi tho
Oh wow, I didn't know that.
OOOOOOh, that thing at 17:45; looks like sterling and some sort of relic maybe Celtic?
You making feel old!!!!!!😁
I think they use to have those casino tokens way before they had tickets especially in Vegas! Maybe that might be, some type of Greek belt buckle!
Hey there JD. I could be wrong but I thought you have to hold the ring in one hand and diamond tester in the other and put the point perpendicular to the stone. Nice ring otherwise. Good luck and hh.
On that phone take out the battery out and see if it has micro SD card in it.... might be some photos on it
Found the pot under Guardian Ware! Looking for the logo.
Looks like they used a knight as a logo. Pretty close, but not quite what I found. :)
EDIT: Or maybe not, I was looking at the wrong thing. LOL
I just started watching. You really know your stuff. I would have hard time in knocking on doors. Do you have to give stuff that you find to owner
I was taught to pinpoint with a awl and dig a small hole back in the 90s. Of course they didn't have pin pointers back then . Do you think digging a plug is less invasive? Do u think the grass or ground recovers better?
1964 a gem n a classic coin
Maybe a vintage trojan container?
I often wondered if I need a metal detector, I live in a hundred year old house and I could probably dig holes around here without a detector?
where ya located at? great videos!
The silver plated relic is Athena, Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Still trying to find what it came from but we know who she is. What metal is the relic made of?
Thanks. It's aluminum. Which is why I didn't it would be older than WW2. Seems 40's - 60's to me.
Looks like it turned out to be some kind of neo-classic style belt top or ladies scarf clip. Kind of looks like a Joan of Arc character or maybe a female Amazonian warrior.
first another great videos jd😁
I'm the same with door knocking and also going I to banks I do not have accou ts with and asking for half dollars and stuff.
after I found the last silver dime 1963 Denver I got permission to a pre civil war house and found a 1818 matron head large cent and almost and a heart attack when I found it.
Jon I was so hoping your that your diamond in the silver ring was real
Thanks John. I found a real, tiny diamond set in silver once. But usually they end up being fake.
Slot machine token. Dime & quarter missed silver by one year, just like my luck with clad. If that diamond was real it would have more prongs never only 3. Still nice ring. GL HH
I'm still watching but I saw the beginning letters or "America" on the edge
What did the homeowner say about the ring?
You were wearing the lucky undies again.......I hear a strange noise when driving down the freeway at 90..come for a ride i will show you.......dig,dig,dig
Which state are you in?
Where can I get one of these metal detectors
Rita Velazquez amazon
Sup Mister JD
Food Stamp food stamp..... 😂
billie jo howard Hola
Love it!! 😂💜💜😂
billie jo howard Thanks
what does clad mean?
Clad means to be clothed with. The newer coins have a copper core and are covered "clad" with a nickel coating.
JD's Variety Channel -so every modern coin is clad? like, theyre all the same? quarters, nickles, dimes and pennies are copper core and plated with nickle? that means theyre worth less, right?
I don't think its a fail...more of a...hmmm... more self motivation needed lol
Naaaa, he only liked her, its an "cubic zergornia".
I don’t know? Did you find a diamond ring while metal detecting?
a good detector should pick up the gold in the ring....wow though...one day......dig,dig,dig
Please, its MonteCELLo, not MonteCHELLOo!

I like your videos but a lot of the time they are clickbait-ish
Portrait Coins sometimes sarcasm doesn't come across as originally intended? Maybe?
