Also forgot to mention one thing. The forward/backward connection on the hand nodon basically moves the object in hand forward or backward. I couldn't connect a stick movement to it since I was using both the left and right stick for my character and camera. But in a different tutorial I can show how to bypass that.
By far my favorite nodon now. I use them for almost all my projects and they are so easy to set up, only a hand and a button nodon and you can grab stuff in your game. I nade a rage room using it
Also to use this you must have a Nintendo switch with some form of detached joycons, with access to the gyroscope feature. I think it can work with lite if you have joycons to connect to the switch
I've been having a big issue lately, is there any way to recenter the hand nodon? Most motion control nodons have a reset, the hand nodon doesnt... It keeps getting out of sync with the screen and there is no way to put it back to my knowledge...
When the hand gets stuck how do you fix it I look at it it said point the joy con at the camera and then press the joy con control stick what does that even mean and where is the camera
Because the right/left hand nodon work similarly to the head nodon. They automatically attach to the player regardless of them actually being physically attached to the player itself in the editor.
Thanks man! Just what I was looking for. I would love to see how you implement simple button-based grabbing, without using the joy con motion. I can't seem to figure it out myself.
Oh good, I'm glad you found the video! Yes I've been trying to work on analog based grabbing meaning using the stick movement rather than gyroscope. I will hopefully have a video up for that soon.
I tried making a first person shooter with the controllers lol, then i saw a video on how to make a first person shooter lol. And i made the shooter before i watched this
Is it possible to make an object that is grabbable, but doesn’t move when you grab it? I’m trying to make a cashier sim with grab controls but I can’t seem to make the buttons on the screen grabbable without being able to move them
I want to make like a vr controller, you’d grab holding ZL, move hand forwards and back with L stick, move camera with R stick, and you could fire a held gun with ZR
That would basically need just different mapping. The only question is what stick would you use to move your character, since your left stick is for the object and right stick is for the camera.
Great tutorials lately Oribloop! Just don’t want you to feel pressured to do every suggestion asked. Do the ones you want to do. Keep up the great work.
Make sure to change they way they are connected to the player with your axis. And also make sure to either use left or right hand nodon depending what you are doing for your project.
Sadly Nintendo did not implement a feature for this to be turned off so the camera will just clip through walls regardless of their settings. I don't think there is anyway to bypass this. :(
Yeahh.. that's the major problem with this method because the objects can be grabbed literally from anywhere. I found if you put walls that aren't grabbable, the cursor will not get to the grabbable object. I'm currently working on methods for a different method where you are able to set a specific distance and it will be controlled with stick movement rather than gyroscope.
I’m pretty sure you can just use a rotating object and then feed it the amount it’s rotating. If instead you are using a fancy object, you should be able to connect it to an anchor object with a hinge connector
Subject for tutorial please: an object that reappears in its original position after it is destroyed. I am trying to throw an object and if I miss I get to try again. Like darts. Thank you.

Hi, I don't speak English, but I like and your tutorials are very useful to me and I have a question about the enemies tutorial because when I look to the side the enemy goes where do I look?
for the first person instead of scaling the person-character up, you also can add a basic object (box, cylinder, sphere, no matter wich of them) in it´s standard-size (0,8m all axis), let only "moveable" activates and connect connect it´s bottom to the center of the person. if you now attach the camera to this object, it should be at about the guy´s eye-hight.
Make sure you aren't in handheld mode, you need your joycon. Also if you have a switch lite or want the game to be in handheld mode go into the settings of the right hand and change the controller used to the switch lite looking icon.
When I bring the hand nodon in and check out the game, its still the same and its like the hand nodon isn't even there, please kill me edit: NEVERMIND I WAS PLAYING HANDHELD

Curious why you don’t have to connect the Arm Nodon to the Person.
Because the right/left hand nodon work similarly to the head nodon. They automatically attach to the player regardless of them actually being physically attached to the player itself in the editor.
@@Oribloop does that mean that maybe you would be able to connects those nodons to an enemy?

Hey, what would i do if im on lite, how could i instead subsitute the gyro of the joycon for the console instead
I think the only solution is to buy a pair of joycons with a gyro to pair to your switch lite
Which is really dumb because a switch lite and some joycons is pretty much the same cost as a normal switch
i didnt see my hand when i pressed play

i use console and it dosnt work on my nentindo switch
Does grab work for pro controller?
Every time I use the hand nodons they go on the opposite sides.
Make sure to change they way they are connected to the player with your axis. And also make sure to either use left or right hand nodon depending what you are doing for your project.
I don't think it works well with 2 when it's on the wrist axis
How do you stop your camera from going through walls
Sadly Nintendo did not implement a feature for this to be turned off so the camera will just clip through walls regardless of their settings. I don't think there is anyway to bypass this. :(
Try making it so the camera zooms in when it is touching a wall. You might have to use the advanced cameras and/or some complex maths
how do you do it in nintendo?

I want an grabbable gun that can shoot when you grabbed it
