Thank you very much for this great video! This is a super great idea and likely the best permanent solution. I will be doing the same with mine.

thank you so much for the video. It was very helpful. I had a few questions. Why did you use an M6 helicoil rather than a 1/4×28 Helicoil? Did you need to drill all the way through first to clear the old threads?

@Jaytheshooter556 I used an M6 helicoil with an M7 tap. Screw the M7 tap in by hand slowly to rethread the hole. Make sure it's lined up perfectly. Then insert the helicoil. It might take a little force to screw it in. Then put the grip on, make sure the bolt is lined up perfectly and use a drill to run it in. That's how I did it and it's on firmly now

Did I miss the springs going back into the grip?

Thanks for posting this video! I believe that the standard grip bolt is a 1/4" x 20. If so, any reason you didnt use a 1/4" x 20 helicoil?

Is it1/4×20? I m trying to fix my now, but I keep seeing 1/4×28. Is it the same?

Because the imperial screw was broken and I can't find any Helicoil with imperial style so I end up with Helicoil with Metric style.

just did this today with the same kit from amazon. i didnt even need to drill out the hole it had loosened up that much. this video was really helpful, thanks! whole thing done in 5 minutes and grip seems rock solid. how is yours holding up?
only thing i thought afterwards was there is probably enough length in the grip tang to screw two coils in to give twice the thread engagement. not sure it would make a difference but might be an idea for the next guy coming along.

@@klitedrunner did you end up using two coils? Or did you stay using one?

So, you used the M6 and not the 1/4-20? I’ve never used these before. I just want to make sure I buy the correct kit.
