    Singapore vs. San Francisco
Singapore is not only the best place to live (after I Visited 140 Countries), but it’s also so hard for anyone to leave the country, both locals and foreigners. Singapore provides a living environment like nowhere, amazing tropical climate, lots of activities to do, healthy living, convenient, great transportation, low cost living, full of culture, and safe.
San Francisco Silicon Valley has been driving the world’s economic growth, Google, Apple, Facebook. It’s a dream place for many entrepreneurs and those chasing California dreams. In fact, many people are moving out of San Francisco & Silicon Valley (exodus).

    Koala,
You have such a pleasant demeanor. Agree here, been wanting to move out of San Francisco for some time. It comes down to having family and long-time friends in the Bay Area, otherwise I would have already left and gone back to Los Angeles. Actually moved to the suburbs of SF last year and enjoy the cleanliness and safety near SFO airport. Still have mixed feelings about the Bay Area, especially how spread out it is and how that affects everyone's social life.

Well said, that in Singapore you have a choice how cheaply you want to live (like a local) or how expensive (like an expat). If you must have alcohol, French cheese, Angus beef, fine dining, landed housing, a car etc it will be expensive. But if you’re willing to live like a local ie take public transport, stay in an apartment, eat in hawker centres and food courts/kopitiam, it can be quite cheap compared to big cities in the West.

I have been an American Tour Manager. SFO is becoz Asian Chinese community is encouraging..I love it as an interesting City on a hill with songs n movies made on it - the cable cars that climb up the hills into the mist made it so romantic day n night... it’s like Venice - sexy songy city...but I ll not live there as a city but won’t mind as a tourist or just couple days job showing people the exciting city that caters to fun in 49 square mile & it’s little history & background laces... a little of my heart giddy up as it leaps into a song -

Sg is also strategically located, if you're bored of the city, you can jump off to any SEAsian country within a max 3 hours flight, and come back to the safety of SG after your SEAsian adventure., well, at least in the pre-Covid era. I think foreigners cannot own house directly in thailand, you can do it thru a company or if you have a thai spouse it has to be under their name. You can own condo units directly but again not more than 49% of the condo project basically they don't want foreigners to have majority in anything. As for cheap living standards I find indonesia to be way lot cheaper but same problem with buying houses no foreign ownership except long 30yr lease or buy condos. Weather in chiang mai is nice, weather in indonesia hot but can be crazy hot until like lose appetite.

It’s amazing that you can live like a Singaporean after you have been in the US for years. 中國是個央央大國,美國也是一個富強的國家。你的世界观改變了,格局也變小了。能夠改變也真不容易。既然美國那麼的大怎么会沒有一個地方適合人的居住?You must compare apple to apple. Orchard or Marina bay 而已。有什麼生活樂趣?你去當新加坡人好了。祝福你生活愉快!

I visited SF back in 2018... Here's my impression as a Singaporean, on stuff other than those mentioned in the video.
-The streets smelled like piss. The moment I stepped off the bus it hit me.
-So. Many. Homeless people!!! Especially around union square. (Though the one that struck me was actually in Hollywood, where I saw some just lying on the ground in broad daylight like they had given up on light.)
-The hills are crazy but great for exercise.
-The food made me feel sick, though it might be an American problem in general cos the portions are so large. Though I was pretty amused to see American-sized wonton mee vs the normal sizes ones in Singapore.
-I stayed in the Green Tortoise hostel and was amused at the high prevalence of mainland Chinese workers (cleaners etc). I chatted with one - she was from Guangzhou, and I found it interesting how she used Cantonese inflection for half the words instead of the Mandarin one.
-Super windy and chilly esp in those areas near the sea
    -Outdoors is great

hahaha i found it pretty amused to read your comments. i think you are pretty spot on, and it seems that ever since you visited, it hasn't changed much. i mean, for people who never lived in Singapore, they probably would not think of any of these points that you mentioned, because it's pretty normal to them. but SG people can see it more obvious, since we've lived in SG :)
