i think your experience being a minimalist wasn't the best because of these reasons :
1.Minimalism doesn't let you get rid of the things that bring you happiness and joy :) so you can have your lights and internet
2. You can have food obviously.
3. You can decorate your apartment with some simple decorations.
4. The point of minimalism is not to reduce the things that you have , but to let you focus on the things that matter in life, and let you free of all the unnecessary stuff around :)
Note: I'm not a minimalist but I know that your life is not supposed to be boring with minimalism.

Yeahhh our stove does that flicking thing when it's switched to electricity and not gas. I wonder if hers was switched on to electricity and that's why the burners weren't being lit with the matches or anything...

It's been very hard on me this lockdown my internet connection is absolutely horrible I can barely connect and watch TH-cam once every few days where I live, I used to go to my family to do that, and now I'm almost without internet and away from my family it's been tough, also food is scarce. Facing all of this with so much free time and nothing to distract you is not easy.

As a Minimalist, my definition to it is eliminating items, distractions, and commitments. All in order to be more productive, having the mental clarity and time to improve.
I'd say eliminating stuff is just a hit from Marie Kondo level. Not yet minimalism since with the rest of the week, we could've wrote poetry or songs, read some books lying around, organizing computer files, and trying some home workouts and not just primarily binge watching shows.
But overall, it's a good start. Hope when the current crisis is over, you could give this another shot.
I'm grateful for telecommuting church services. Not that I'm all that devout, but it's nice seeing familiar faces, and having some part of my normal routine. I'm also grateful for all the content on NPR's website (American public radio, I recommend Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and Ask Me Another, both game shows).

TAZ! If you want some great Korean and Chinese Dramas, I recommend "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon", "Meteor Garden", "Well-Intended Love", and "ExtraOrdinary You"!! They're all romance, but with hints of thriller or other genres! There long and v enjoyable so I hope you enjoy them!
