      I really liked the photo with the two birch trees framing the mountain. Very nice!

    As a beginner I realised pretty quickly when you where talking about framing that I never leave enough space for it breath. Thank you for making me realise that!

      @@TheJoshuaPeg It makes perfect sense to just slide it around instead of taking the bag off. I’ve got a Tarion bag which is great, but not a fan of the tripod holder underneath as when you lower it to the ground, it scratches the poles.

    Hey, Joshua! I am relatively new to photography and have been practicing it as a hobby for about a year now. In addition to your tip re: balancing a composition on your finger, one thing that has really helped me is blurring my eyes when I am looking at an image. It allows me to remove distractions such as subject matter, and focus solely on shapes, colors, and symmetry.

    Great video, really love the "balance on finger" metaphor for image balance, such a simple and well articulated "trick".

    Excellent video as always, used to visit North Wales as a child , we're very lucky here in Wales, wherever you go there's some stunning views and scenery even where I live in south Wales especially in the sunshine. 👍

    I was at Cregennan lakes a couple of days ago, beautiful place. Thankfully its only 25 minutes from where I live. I seldom use a tripod these days. I took similar compositions to the ones you posted but also a few different ones although I didn't go up the peak this time. Nice video.

    The pic of the mountains with the haze caught my eye. The colors in the scene really popped out to me. Thanks for sharing!

    Both the ‘properly framed’ one of the boat house as well as the boat house with no frame 👏 I was there literally last week in misty & drizzly conditions and wish I’d had this advice before my visit! 😅

    I've been using a sling bag similar to yours that my wife gifted me a few months back, and I love it, I prefer that rather than the backpack, you put less stuff in it because o f the space, the more space the more stuff you carry that you barely to never use

    Another great and helpful video Mate 👍 I have a similar bag to your new one and love it. I also bought a 3LTR peak design bag as a minimalist set up for street photography which is even better but I don’t have to carry all that video gear about too ! Look forward to your street photography videos as I hope to do more of this too.

    Interesting bag review😅😮 Being tall not all backpacks fit comfy, I use rivacase shoulder bags. One for camera and gear the other has my mini2 drone gear. Then tripod in its carry bag😊😅😅😅

    I have the entry level Canon EOS Rebel T100 Kit. It came with the 18-55 mm kit lens. I already have the Nifty Fifty and love it. But I'm wondering if I upgrade the 18-55 kit lens, what do you think I should replace it with? Think budget.

    • @TheJoshuaPeg
      @TheJoshuaPeg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go with a newer 18-55 in my opinion. The IS STM 18-55 is a great lens

  • @stigfloberghagenphotography

    Nice video. I think the one without foreground trees. That balancing tip, how does that tie with the rule of third. Just a thought

    • @TheJoshuaPeg
      @TheJoshuaPeg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man. Rule of thirds works well because if you've got a subject on one third, the "negative space" becomes a heavy element balancing out the other side. Whereas, if the subject is too close to the edge and not on the third line, the picture starts feeling very imbalanced. I'm planning a video on it at some point.

  • @trevorsneath4665
    @trevorsneath4665 ปีที่แล้ว

    Joshua, will you ever upgrade? Just going up to a S/H EOS80D would get you one of the most useful features in Back Button Focus. And weatherproof, which is nice.
    And I'll be interested to hear if, after using it for a while, the small bag creates headaches or shoulder and neck discomfort from having all the weight on one shoulder.

    • @TheJoshuaPeg
      @TheJoshuaPeg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll almost certainly upgrade one day. I'm in no rush though, gear has very little attraction to me. I'm putting money back into things that will grow my business at the mo. But, I'm loving the look of some of the newer cameras on the market

    That's why the wife made me buy an Apple watch 6. If you fall over and you don't hit the button within 30 seconds, it starts calling people. It can even track and send your position.
    I've slipped and fell a couple of times(no injury!) and it does sense the fall.
    At the very least, it'll make it easier to find the body! 😳

    another helpful window into photography and the art of vision. thank you again for sharing. just a sidenote for me after trying so many different bags, I ended up with Wotancraft bags. I use a 7L pilot for street and their 10L pilot for extended trips or out into nature . they are the first bags that I've beenhappy with
