Dev here. Really excited that you‘ve played our game and appreciate the honest feedback on it. We‘ll definitely be able to address some of your points before launch!
I played through the mobile version of your game pretty much in one sitting the night it came out (literally, from late at night until the sun came up lol. little embarrassing to admit, but all I had to worry about was school, online because of the pandemic, so I had the time). Nothing really captivated me like that at the time, so thanks for your work. Really enjoyed the game, and it's a nice memory. Best of luck on the release of your Definitive Edition.
Every time I hear Splattercat say upgrade, I thInk of the scene in Idiocracy where Rita is trying to call her pimp from the past, and the computer mocks her voice and says "upgrayedd" back at her. Idk why but I always just get a giggle out of it.
Your insights are always angles I don’t think about so I appreciate when you call out add ons that are needed and I agree on almost all of them. Having got past Day 50 a few times and played 100+ hours even before this update, I wanted to help answer your curiosity questions. The deer being run out is almost an absolute, so as things are upgraded you’ll see fields come up which is a must to survive the forest void of deers and the coming harsh winter. On a separate note, I may be one of the few people that enjoys the games waiting because you are making proactive decisions and planning in your head what’s the best thing to do next or to prepare for. It’s a grind but it’s a fun grind and I’m excited to play this update! Hope you get to revisit this game when there are more updates ❤
I would probably go with job assiment per day, adding balacing population between defences and production, maybe add builder to jobs and give construction to take time. As there is not much to do as things are happening just make it turn based.
I use to play that game on my phone (IOS). It a free game on mobile. I can confirm, that game is a lots of worker management. I use to beat the game, but the Farm are definitly the way to go. But i remember at some point later, Farm become unavailable. i think it's like a winter or something. If i remember correctly, i was always dieing at some point because of food. But laters, when you unlock sniper, these guys just kill everything. Bullet take scrap if i remember. it's a fun game, but i feel that the lack of stuff really is because it was a mobile game at the beginning.
Hey splattercat. I would absolutely LOVE a new series of project zomboid on your channel again. I watched all your build 31 vids and since build 42 is almost here I would love to see it
Googled it, found an interview with the Developers, this is 6 guys and that interview was 2 years ago. If this is at least a 6 man team, and they've had years, this isn't going anywhere this is just a port hoping to get some steam money.
I don't know if any has said this but it would make it interesting if Rest was a resource. If a citizen didn't get enough rest then they would get a debuff during the day. Maybe some sort of programmable rotating fire watch mechanic. Looks fun though.
There is a penalty to swapping the fighters to workers and back. They don't eat when off shift and they increase your population generation. So double shifting them like that means you get less pop growth and you can support less people for the same amount of food.
I think Frostpunk makes for a better inspiration. to be more precise the scouts. they bring resources in the form of events and you have to choose which to do.
Perhaps you'd like to try the game Rebuild 3? It's also about zombies, quite simplistic. There is also an earlier version somewhere online (Rebuild 2) in case you don't want to pay for it.
Real time game with no push pause? Automatic pass. Pause is mandatory to somewhat offset innate computer player advantages. It also makes up for the time dilation. The few seconds it takes you to decide and issue commands can translate into hours of in-game time, causing unrealistic delays. And further on the subject of time wasting, the time scaling is way off. It shouldn't take the better part of an hour to travel a couple hundred feet. Way too much productive time is wasted on traveling.
Why don't they multitask the axes as both tools and melee weapons. I know wood axes are a different thing from battle axes, but a wood axe is still an exceptionally more effective weapon than just a knife.
I don't mind low budget indie games but if you cant even be bothered to make simple sprites for your characters and instead just have some random dots floating around, no thanks.
Yo, why do games have to be reduced to literal grid paper before y'all Devs drop to recommended memory use back to 4 gigs huh!? Hur hur 8-16 gigs is industry standard. What am I supposed to buy an entire new Rig every 2 years like some kinda console junkie? A game is just a GAME if I have to kill every other process on my terminal just to stop my Ram from having a stronk, I aint playin that. (No cap, FR, wtevr)

Why is there a Definitive Edition when the game isn't even finished yet?
Great game. Been playing on mobile since long ago.
Killer art style. Very clean!
I’ve played this game before. Glad Splat showed it. I enjoyed it. =]

Those knife fighters must be exhausted. They defend all night then go directly back to lumberjacking in the morning.
Imma call my union
I mean the scavenger loses an eye every morning
They on the parrot powder, they are alright
Yo dude, you are so right. I didn’t think about that this comment made me laugh.
If you have an axe for lumberjacking, why would you fight zombies with a knife?
Bruh he ended the video as the base upgrade was about to finish wtf I got blueballed
Gotta play it to know what happens next, then!
This reminds me of the side scroller defend the castle MiniClips game and that’s not a bad thing. That game was so much fun
Very polite zombies. They only attack you from the direction where you have a wall 😆

Brawndo has electrolytes!
Oh, seems it's time for a rewatch!
It's got what plants crave!
Don't worry, scrote. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. She's a pilot now.
So glad you covered this one! One of my absolute favorites recently ❤
Trader: you take that deal? I'd take that deal. Damn good deal...

Hasn't really changed much from the phone version I tried 10 or so years ago, more depth would definitely help.
Sleeping workers don't eat and contribute to birth rate. I guess that is the idea for having the pemanently assigned?
This looks like a game that I'd play when in queue for League matchmaking. Like Dave the Diver, but less interaction.
I would probably go with job assiment per day, adding balacing population between defences and production, maybe add builder to jobs and give construction to take time. As there is not much to do as things are happening just make it turn based.
Oh, no! The attack of the Zombie Dots!! Not my kind of game. Doesn't keep me from giving you a though Splat.

The thumbnail looked good
Youll never make me stop playing rise to ruins. This looks cute though.
oh, yes, i will.
i will......
“Weed over here.” What?! Oh, wheat. Nvm.
so much promise...I'm in the same boat as you. I like it and want to play it, but hoping it continues to develop
Definitely see some potential. I feel like The King is Watching executes the concept better.
ThankYou SirSpla77!
Sounds fun but definitely need pause mechanism.
Dang man! First thing I read on the thumbnail was “final post”
Hey splattercat. I would absolutely LOVE a new series of project zomboid on your channel again. I watched all your build 31 vids and since build 42 is almost here I would love to see it
A pause button would be helpful for this game. Also, I am hearing you need a big beautiful wall to keep out the invaders 😜

:/ I sure hope you're wrong.
Strategy? Pixel art? Apocalyptic survival? Sign me up

This looks like a very scaled down Stoenhearth. Like, its got the simulation of it, but everything else is stripped away, literally everything else.
excellent!

I'm very sure I played a game exactly like this on mobile. Probably the same devs.
Gotta wishlist the game :D
I think Frostpunk makes for a better inspiration. to be more precise the scouts. they bring resources in the form of events and you have to choose which to do.
I remember when on the third day Jesus rose again and ascended to fartbase5000
Looks like a lofi version of infection free zone
🔥🔥🔥
big dog SPLAT
Hasn’t this been out on mobile for like a year or two?
Awesome video, as always. Question for you. Did you once play a Roblox-style FPS stalker/Torkav-style game a while ago? If so, what is the name?
Perhaps you'd like to try the game Rebuild 3?
It's also about zombies, quite simplistic.
There is also an earlier version somewhere online (Rebuild 2) in case you don't want to pay for it.
Any plans to come back to twitch? I need my longplay fixings😩😩
had me at "roguelike", lost me at "clicker".
I play this game on mobile phone and I like it.
The main menu pauses.
It like someone made a iPad game but decided to not make it a micro transaction nightmare.
The game pacing is like a self tutorial... to look at every meter and detail.
(Out)post fated.

🖤
Was a fun game... though i played it on my ipad month ago. Hmm ...
Why don't they multitask the axes as both tools and melee weapons. I know wood axes are a different thing from battle axes, but a wood axe is still an exceptionally more effective weapon than just a knife.
or here's an idea... it could play the Immigrant Song, or at least a MIDIfied piece of it, when you get new immigrants :D
I was 100% on board with this, until I saw there was no "Pause". Can't play it then. :(
dots from the top? dots from the top? DOTS FROM THE TOP? is this 1987 or 2025?
Aw I thought I was first. Oh well. Hope your sleep issues get better splat.
damn I thing I got here too fast
comment for the comment god!
👍
Is there an anti-push-pause movement in base-builders/RTS now?!? Argh. Too sweaty for me.
oof... that main menu is... hard to look at.
🥑
I don't mind low budget indie games but if you cant even be bothered to make simple sprites for your characters and instead just have some random dots floating around, no thanks.
hello
Man, this seems a snooze fest 🥱

Pixelated graphics in every single indie game are getting old and tiresome real fast.
I mean just going through splats few recent videos shows this is just not true.. theres plenty that don't...
@@MagicalMajestic Too bad there aren't more.
Well now the fad is PS1 era graphics, so enjoy
@ yeah
This isnt even pixel art. Literal circles drifting from side to side. At least a sprite or something... It's 2025 not 1970.
this is on the iphone ive had it for years
PS: great game tho, two thumbs up.
