  • This example problem is part of Module 6 in my Prestressed Concrete Design course on calculating stresses using strain compatibility approach (decompression force and moments). Transformed section properties, strain at centroid, curvature, and strains at stresses are found for a T-shaped prestressed concrete section with an applied sustained and live load moment. Linear elastic material properties are assumed for this problem. This problem expands on earlier examples by also including how to account for sustained loads using long-term transformed section properties.
