Just an additional note…I CAN NOT wait for the next installment of Furniture Fables! I’ve see all of the past installments and just looking so forward to more❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful! I liked your cavalier attitude toward the stenciling. It added charm and I’m sure was much more fun in the making. Perhaps we all need to execute a carefree project from time to time. Love, love the colors and the hardware. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Anxiously awaiting the Summer 2024 Sequel!!
I didn’t think I would like it but I DO! The stencil look came out better than I thought it would too. But I would have skipped the gold filling - too random for me. Great job, Andy!
Nice transformation. Loving the color scheme and wash. It’s all good. I might have tried to add small flecks of gold to the top. Very small. As the paint dries is worth watching 🥸
Loved the raised stencil. But how about using a dry brushed technique to highlight its character. The leg color is great, and it is definitely a use again. Thanks for sharing!
Many thanks!! Yes, I was/am tempted to do that with it too, although I'm also really enjoying its more subtle look right now....maybe I'll try a little on one side...😂
That turned out absolutely beautiful. I love everything about it. Great job. Maybe a cushion on your chair will get your tush up a little bit higher for more comfortable typing but it’s absolutely beautiful.
Andy, your crazy antics always make me smile. Can hardly wait till As the Paint Dries continues. That little desk is a great little writing desk. Adorbs.
I really like the loose raised stencil and I found your idea with the gold brilliant ! So much so that I would have liked a few spots more with the gold, but it has to be to your taste, not mine. 😊
Thanks so much! Yes, my plan had been to add more....but then I wasn't sure if I liked it so I stopped...now I'm thinking I might play with it some more and see how it develops...LOL.
That raised stencil looked REALLY good. My motto when it comes to DIY for myself is that 'perfection is highly overrated." I like that it doesn't look mass produced. Great job. And yes, the milk chocolate legs looked great!
Wow, talk about a low class duckling to high class swan. The amount of courage and creativity in this piece might be illegal. And, this was done while preparing for a major role in a theater production plus the “minor” responsibility of running the household as mother for a family of five! Makes me tired to just tip the hat to this wonderful accomplishment.
I think the gold crevices are worth pursuit. Like Japanese ceramic repairs using gold paint to highlight the cracks. The little table is amazing..as are you.
@@frelnc no, not a professional actress (although I LOVE getting to be on stage in community theater productions) but I've been a professional musician (singer and conductor) for 25+ years, and would love to expand as a writer! 😊
I love the paint combo! The really nice blue and the legs were stunning. I’m not so into small flowers and ornaments, I’m thinking about the Pattern on the sides, but I guess you have to have a small things on small surfaces. I might have tried somThe lining was beautiful! The knobs! All and all! WOW!!
I love it. I personally love gold but I wasn’t a fan of the very random bits of gold leaf. I think for my own taste I would have used a tiny bit of gold gilding wax and just went over the front drawer with my finger, just so it gently kissed the raised stencil. Enjoy your new desk Andy ❤
The loose affect of the stenciling really worked. I wasn’t a fan of the gold, but then I’m usually not a fan of gold as I have more rustic taste. Thank you for another demonstration of molding the corner of the top. Wonderful and thank you for sharing.
I really like your new, just perfect, little table. I wasn't sure about the gold but with the pulls which also have gold I believe it works. The rustic raised stencil also looks great and you colour choices are spot on as always!
So creative! The raised stencil gives it a one of a kind designer look, and why not, you are a creative designer. I love it! The chocolate legs make the entire piece WOW.
I loved this, so fun! I think you took a piece that would have disintegrated and gave it a MUCH longer life. And so pretty! The raised stencils turned out great. Can't wait for the summer!
Your piece looked "happy" in the end. They seem to smile at their new look. I've done the stencil technique on furniture before, but use "wall joint compound" and it works great. Not sure how it would hold up compared to the stuff you used and someone handling more roughly than I do, but I love using that. Love the legs and that wallpaper you found - both looked so uplifting. Thanks again for inspiration.
You are so welcome, thank you!! Yes, I've heard of folks using the joint compound too - my understanding is that the fiber paste is a bit more tough, but I'd guess that as long as someone was careful, it'd be fine! 😊

The "freeform" raised stencil came out looking really nice! I like the milk chocolate-washed finish on the legs, but for this table I think I might have preferred the legs painted the same color as the body, perhaps one shade darker (or lighter?) than the body of the piece. I agree with you that the goldleaf was a bit too bright; it was good that you toned it done and didn't continue it.

The raised stencil turned out awesome!. The gold leaf...eeeeh...I'm not so sure...I don't think it works in this case. Maybe if it was applied like veining in marble and then a darker wash or wax applied to the area to tie the two colors together? The whole piece looks looks incredible.

Many thanks!
Cute and perfect size too. Sometimes small and compact fits the bill. I've done this stencil technique way back on small items using spackle. Super fun to do. I cannot wait to see what the gang has been up to in your upcoming special! Woo hoo!
Thanks so much, and looking forward to the summer fun, lol!
The raised stencil turned out awesome!. The gold leaf...eeeeh...I'm not so sure...I don't think it works in this case. Maybe if it was applied like veining in marble and then a darker wash or wax applied to the area to tie the two colors together? The whole piece looks looks incredible.
Thanks so much! Yes, I agree - I feel like there's something there, but I don't quite have it yet...😅
I'm only a minute in! my first thought was "Oh no, she's back!" then how in the world is she only at 79.6k subscribers! You give so much entertainment with your videos it is a shame the more people haven't found you!
Oh wow, thank you so much, means a lot to hear that! 😍
Perfectly imperfect!
I wasn't sure about the grey desk and brown legs but it really works! Shame on me for doubting you. Your magic is special.
