Using the wrong cutting disk. Also, use a flexible attachment for the dremel. Will make your life easier. On the bottom of the housing, you are cutting at the wrong angle. The way you cut it makes it incredibly hard to get the insides out and very easy to snap the lens with the amount of preying you need to do. Put the light face down, and cut straight down into the back of the housing towards the lens. Makes for a cleaner cut too. Just like you did going up the side to where it makes the round bend to go back to the top of the light. A small flat head screw driver, something bigger than that pick, works far better to find where it needs to be cut more. 99% of the time, putting the flat header screw driver into the cut and giving it a very slight twist will separate it nicely. Lol, at removing all the screws. Just remove the 2 screws holding the side reflector part. Leave the rest alone, for now. You don't need all the cards to hold that inner housing. Lift it with your fingers, keeping enough pressure on it. then pop the rest out at that corner with the screw driver. It will pop right out. Now you can remove the rest of the screws. This way you won't have the circuit boards bouncing around or accidentally getting ripped out. You also do not need a screw driver to pop that clip out to separate the bezel from the inner housing. Just push it with your thumb. Do NOT touch the little clear lens over the reverse and turn signal areas. Even with gloves. They will scratch and you cant buff it out. Can pop out the turkey leg (red reflector) with your thumb pushing it out from the triangle hole. Built hundreds of sets of these gen lights. Oh yea, don't touch the inside of the lens either. Compressed air will help to clear out any cutting debris and dust from the inside of the lens.

Tried this on my 2016 lights and couldn’t get the reflectors off without snapping them.. just decided to put on spec-ds

So if I were to take out that big red spoon thing in my taillights and reseal them, would that essentially give me clear taillights?

It's not "highly recommended" to cut close to the edge. It's MANDATORY, if you don't, you'll break the lens or housing trying to get the internals out.

If everything went perfectly was a video. This was annoyingly difficult. When you go perpendicular to the light do not go as close a possible to the edge. You will be close to the outside lens and you will be prying it out, which can lead it to crack on the outside lens. Just cut it at the crease line and then cut more till you have enough clearance to pop the plastic trimming in the inside out. This is after you have popped out the side reflector, which I also found to be a hassle... If you're inpatient this might not be for you lol
