    Low back pain and strain is common in people over the age of 30. It does not have to be the end of your life. Most people recovery from a lower back strain... they just need to know how to fix it.
    Low back herniations, or lumbar herniations, are a very common injury we "fix" at Performance Place. These injuries tend to follow similar patterns, and so we have decided to share two of the most common things that can help alleviate disc pain instantly.
    Doctors Dawne and Sebastian spend some time talking about whether you can "fix" a disc or not, and what part MRI and imaging has to play in your recovery. They demonstrate a breathing position and technique that corresponds with a position of relief for the low back, which can help immediately. They also demonstrate low back extension and its importance in relieving pain associated with low back disc herniations. Get your here!

    Currently in the fire academy. Been working out every day no problem. One day woke up in the morning and completely threw my back out. Ortho doctor diagnosed me with lumbar strain. Going on week two feeling better but feel so tight in the back and on and off guarding pain. Stretching made it worse. Def going to try this! Thank you

      I don’t know exactly what happened to me but feels like lumbar strain but pain also radiates on the front hips. Just got prescription meds but can’t workout yet other than walking. Start academy in 3 weeks and I’m terrified

      You should set up an appointment with us so we can figure out how to solve this for you. The last commenters right. If you’re having trouble getting on the floor, I don’t think doing TH-cam videos to solve the problem is the most effective way of going about solving a problem.

    Finally someone that understands. Most of the times the recommended stretches cause the pain to either redistribute to other areas or make them worsen in my case unless they're very gentle like you said. Thanks for the video. I'll try to do this. If you can't bend your knees that far, would a softer position still have the same affect? Or could you recommend any substitution please?

      Glad you like the video. Our youtube videos are general things. We do have custom videos and coaching. Without knowing anything about your situation, I would not be able to suggest specific exercises. If you want some help getting over it for good, we are in Costa Mesa CA (Orange County). Message or call us www.p2sportscare.com/contact-form-youtube/ 714-502-4243. We see people suffering with this kind of thing all the time. In this type of situation, virtual works as well as in person….but in person is always the best :)

    I love TH-cam! Thanks so much for your help! I feel much better. My knees are cranky due to osteoarthritis, so I had to perform the stretch on my firm mattress, but, it worked! 😃👍🏾 A million thanks. 💐🙏🏽😇

      The exact nuances of how to perform each exercise or stretch we give on TH-cam depends on what type of back pain you have. When we examine we classify it and can suggest safer versions of exercises like these. This is how we build our custom programs. Contact us via the link in description to set up a consultation

    Yo thanks for this. I did some ad-hoc gentle yoga stuff a few days ago, felt better for about an hour, then everything felt worse. And I was definitly doing the kind of rotational stretching you showed.

    Day before yesterday I was squatting and I bend too much after that I was havibg severe pain at my lower back. I lie down for 5 mints and the pain was gone. Then yesterday I was at my office around 4pm suddenly I had a horrific cramp at my lower back almost making me blackout and I was unable to getup, I was not getting the power at my lower back to getup and stand. Now I am feeling little better. Can you please explain what was the actual reason and how to squat so that I don't face the same issue again

      Happened with me yesterday as well. Was using light weights i.e. 60 kilos or 130 lbs (I have always been afraid of deadlifts and so wanted to progress slowly and still it happened) . During the 3rd rep of my 3rd set while going up I felt a sharp pain above my buttock to the right side. At first I was glad that it wasn’t in the middle and my spine was probably safe but then as I tried to carry on with my workout I really could not bend to pick up weights. And I had to just leave the gym and lie down on the bed. I can’t sit, stand up or turn sideways on the bed anymore.

    Yeah, I've never understood why some doctors on TH-cam say to stretch with lower back pain. Maybe if it isn't severe and very light. But every time I've had back pain over the years, stretching didn't really help. Maybe once it was almost healed it could help. But a lot of people run to TH-cam they wake up with a bunch of pain and everyone's telling them to stretch lol.

    This only makes sense if you can get on the floor and get back up again afterwards. You can adapt these exercises to be done on your back in bed.

    • @Performance-Place-chiropractor
      @Performance-Place-chiropractor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dead lift form may need to be altered based upon the persons tendencies for using their hips versus back in a hip dominant pattern. Typically when we help people resolve from lower back pain, we need to make sure they are an appropriate hip dominant strategy for the task at hand. Dead lifting is just one way to accomplish this, but there are many.
