this is probably horrible to say but she just looked hollywood in the 90s. Now, yes, she looks like Andie McDowell. Her laugh lines, her smile. She's gorgeous. There's an authenticity to her now that perhaps she was grappling with when she started. She's amazing and I'm so happy to see her still doing stuff - my mum was telling me about this show called Maid that she's in. She mentioned Andie was in it and I went "Oh god we LOVE Andie McDowell!" I love Magic Mike but had no idea she was in the sequel as I've not yet watched it. I really should!
Always one of my favorite actresses to watch... not like, from the bushes outside her house last month until the sprinklers came on or anything, but in the movies... and sometimes when she goes to get her nails done... on Thursdays.... or occasionally Saturdays.
Andie McDowell? You're an amazing actress and now I can see a lovely human being. Your speaking voice is almost lilting to my ear-- I could listen to you all day. xx from WA, AU.

OMG Andie is still gorgeous in her age over 60 something? oh it's unfair to all beautiful actress from all over the world. In 1990 times she was absolutely queen of the romatic comedy movie those days
Andie has always been true to her craft, totally believable in every role, she gives it the necessary amount of energy to make it work, and so charming and beautiful. Love her since S, Lies & Videotape.
I really liked seeing her acting in "Four weddings and a funeral". It was an emotionally poignant film with heartbreaking moments but just a overall beautiful story. I'll watch it tonight.
That movie is so God-damn good. I never get tired of it. And I'm the least romantic person on the planet. Andie M. plays a realistic person. So nuanced. And she ain't perfect. She bangs around. "Four Weddings is so great because you're rooting for everyone in it. Especially Andie.
Andie is a timeless Beauty inside & out, a bright star amidst a darkening World. Hollywood is better with her in it not the other way 'round. Still not sure why they forgot to include Hudson Hawk, she was great in that as well!
@@andyt9677 in the main I would agree with you, but we all judge others. It takes a liar to say that they have never judged someone. My point was it depends on the reason!
Curious what tea she could spell from the behind the scenes of 'Groundhog Day.' Since it's notorious to be the film where Bill Murray and Harold Ramis's friendship ended. They obviously made up before Ramis passed away.
I thought, after watching this clip, twice (to make sure I heard what she said, correctly) even though Andie said some very nice things about Bill Murray, I got the impression that she really didn't enjoy working with Bill Murray - maybe, it was just how they edited this clip, and not her true feelings about Bill, coming through. ( Also, personally, I could really relate to her saying that she wished she could spell and remember names better - since, I really struggle with these same issues.) PS. Really thought she made "Groundhog Day" a much better movie - maybe, more than any other actress could have! Not to forget Andie's wonderful performance in "Four Weddings and a Funeral".
@James Lacy Kamuf, oh your correct. First off, the fact that they had her voice dubbed and treated her terribly - years later, @ 4:57 - 5:19 explains her quiet strength that comes out of as I put it for myself, "making the insane -sane." I feel her attitude is how she lives her life. Which some survive and some do not; nature and nurture. Brava for her ~
@@rumblefish9 Neither in Groundhog Day, or maybe I shouldn't say "neither" because I've never watch her any other acting except Groundhog Day. Look, I'm not holding a personal grudge against her, but I really think if there's anything that makes this film less good is her acting, it's just flat out terrible, she talks like a robot, the speaking, the mannerism is so freaking unnatural, she really had me almost think she ruined this masterpiece.
Why no mention of 1996's "Michael" with John Travolta? I view it as one of her most recognizable films. Anyway, she's an underrated actor and seems very down-to-Earth. Hollywood has not treated her properly. They take her for granted.
Even at the time I had this sense that Michael was a film we wanted to forget. I remember watching it as a kid and going "I'm forgetting this as I'm watching it". Nothing against her - I genuinely forgot she was in it. That movie was weird all around. External of the plot of the film, the kind of vibe around it was so odd. It was like an omen for Battlefield Earth, the same oddness but more palatable? I dunno.
Andie McDowell was perfectly cast too in Four weddings and a funeral. Nice praise for Hugh, but I think the movie would not as been as good or popular if Andie McDowell wasn't in the movie. In the 80s and 90s Andie was gorgous, I think it was her and Hugh's acting together that made 4 weddings and a funeral a hit. Both of them were excellent actors in the 1990s thats what made the movie a success. In fact I would say Andie McDowell more than Hugh is the reason 4 Weddings and a Funeral was a big hit in the mid 1990s.
She was okay as the somewhat undeserving or even mystifying subject of a charismatic man's infatuation. That was her major talent as an actress and it led to her greatest success. That may sound belittling, but a lot of actresses don't have any talent at all besides being tarted up in some sexy but empty way. At least Andie MacDowell had real talent.
I think she was AMAZING in groundhog day.... And sometimes bill murray actually wasnt good. He was good, and sometimes GREAT, but there were flaws. Even so, i cant believe ppl think she looks better than ever?? Ugh (Definitely too much partying) She was/is very talented. :)
@@davidturner1641 Partying? Andie McDowell? She's 64 years old. For her age she looks great. And there's only one way to look that good. Not partying. Bill Murray carries "Groundhog Day" like the myth of the guy pushing the stone up the hill. The one scene where he deserves an Oscar nomination: He wakes up finally on a new day, that look, it's not crying exactly, but I've never seen a combo of pathos and relief on any actor's face like that before or since. It looked real.
She seems to be an interesting mix of forthright and demure. You get her, her insecurities. She never "glams out." As in make-up or clothes. An actress? like that? She won't play the sex-pot. Doesn't need to. What she does in " Four Weddings, " competing with Hugh Grant and Kristen Thomas for charisma and adorable- amazing. It's her smile. It lights up the screen, it warms the heart. It's God's gift to the world through Andie McDowell. Last thing, her daughter steals "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood."
Four Weddings and Funeral was delightful except for one aspect about her character. And I blame whoever wrote the screenplay. After being engaged to somebody else, she hits the sack with Hugh Grant's character. They try to soften this by having her say something like, "I would not do this after I am married." But you presume that being engaged is a "committed" relationship and "cheating" made her character less likeable. At least to me. And if I were Hugh Grant's character, my radar would have gone off regarding how much I could trust the woman. As an actress, I find she has sort of a lightness to her bearing. Very nice.
Andie MacDowell + Groundhog Day = Perfection
Y'know what I like about Andie MacDowell (aside from everthing else, talent, personality etcetera...) she still looks like Andie MacDowell. ❤️

One of my favorites. Groundhog Day IMHO her best. Sad women after 40 aren't hired, similar to men in major league sports. Miss her.
