I’m on my third. My SIL used to breed them. Our current is from her last and final litter. The first dog that was strictly mine, by his own choice, was a beagle. They mean home to me too. Honorable mention to our beautiful lab/awesome mix rescue. She’s pretty awesome as well.

My Beagle loves me for I do everything for him, but he doesn't know I'm around when my grandson comes home. They play ruff,plus they sleep together. Then when a new day begins,up my butt all day, every step I take, even while vacuuming or mopping ,he's there.When I take a break and sit on the sofa,he lays almost on top of me.

A year ago I lost my basset hound to cancer. Went to a great local rescue and ended up adopting 2 young beagles...1.5 yrs old each. They have been nothing short of loving, grateful and sweet. They are super spoiled, but deserve to be..

I rescued a beagle/bassett. I love him and he feels the same about me. He has horrible separation anxiety if I have to leave.
I took a young beagle from a breeding center when she was a couple weeks old, I dont take care of here like most people do cuz were never around, but, I can't get rid of her, she cute, and loving, if I can find the time and energy to train her, she'd be even better.
I rescued two beagles from an animal hoarding situation :( they have trauma and it's very evident but we're going to obedience school so hopefully they can work through some of that! they're sweet dogs and we have a huge backyard with plenty of foliage and a pool and a deck that is nice and cool underneath during the summer. they're spoiled and have their respective couches to sleep on at night. they had it rough their first few months so I'm making sure they're loved to the extreme!!!!

Just had to put down our family beagle last week due to a neurological issue with her back legs and paws. She was 16 years and 4 months old…and literally everything in this video she did on a regular basis. I was the primary care giver and I also have worked from home the last 7 years…she literally followed me everywhere all day long. She also did the leaning thing a lot vs snuggling..I always for the feeling she didn’t like to feel trapped. All in all she was an awesome dog…it was a very sad day to have to finally make the decision to say goodbye.
I’m so sorry for your loss! I lost my beagle back in April! We had to put him down because he stopped eating and drinking and was so lethargic. He was 18 and just so old💔
I unfortunately haven't gotten one to call my own, but my Aunt had three that I loved as my own.
They are sadly now all chasing bunnies in heaven, and I miss them incredibly and just teared up thinking about them and how much I miss them.

My fiancé fell in love with our Beagle when we adopted him from the Shelter. She was so sure that the dog would love her more than anyone in our family....WRONG! MY Beagle only loves me more than anyone! LOL! He is attached to me. I can't go to the bathroom, watch TV, run errands or simply cook, with out him by my side. Realistically, I fell in love with him. I thought it was going to be impossible for me to love a dog the way I do for my "Scout" (That's what my son named him, lol) He's been living with us for a week now and he instantly became attached to all us (more attach to me than the others, lol) For those seeking a new dog in their family, and you don't want them too big or too small, this is the way to go. I guaran-damn-tee you, you'll be hooked!

She lays on top of the blanket between my knees, her favorite spot to rest, I swear it's her way of keeping me in one place after all, if the baby is comfy I often will not disturb her and she lays there for a very long time. I used to have a beautiful, brown and black beagle, named chopper. He listened to every command I ever taught him without hesitation, but the very first time he saw his first rabbit he stopped stood as still as a stone tail up nose in front foot forward, two seconds later, and he took off like a bat out of hell. Years ago, I had a neighbor who had a Beagle named Maggie. Whenever I would say 'Hey Maggie' to her from across the street, she would start crying and howling until I went over and petted her. She would be fine after that. Whenever she would get loose, she would come to my house. If they came to get her, they had to bring a leash, but if I walked over to their house, she would stay right at my heels until we got there. I miss her. She was so sweet.
I have a 7 week old Aussie Beagle mix and now I know why he stares directly at me he barks when I look at him he follows me everywhere and wants me to hold him like a baby when he naps in my arms

My beagle Henry was from a beagle rescue They said he was gonna be a little big when we got him as a puppy. He is 65 pounds now at two years old But looks like a big beagle Abd has all those character traits but definitely has an independent streak. Not jealous of our other dog. Oblivious to other dogs and people on walks Wonder if he's mixed w Bassett. I love Henry more then life itself. He is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me and I've had dozens of dogs thru my 60 years of life

we just got a beagle, 6 months old.. he can get "aggressive" when being playful by biting our hands and arms... we don't think he understands he can hurt us.. when he behaves, he is like an angel.. he actually likes sitting on your laps and snuggles with you... very different than our other dogs we have, which are shi tzu...they sometimes behave like cats! lol

Requires training. Many puppies do that. You may be unconsciously rewarding the behavior by making a fuss. Scolding doesn't work because the dog doesn't know what you are talking about, he just knows he is getting attention even though it may be negative attention. Try stopping play and walking away or turning your head away.

I think my beagle loves me the most because I love him more than he loves me. I believe this in any dog that you put your heart into will reciprocate it back in general. Which goes to the saying "You get out of it what you put into it."

We just lost our loved one...personally when I came home she would seek me out and then "crawl up my butt" when I settled on the couch. While she loved all of us, now I know I was her favorite. TY for the vid.
My beagle loves to come up on my lap and snuggle in for his nap. But, he needs to have my left hand under his chin or he can't settle down. Second problem is, the nap is contagious. I've missed a lot of daylight enjoying those shared naps.

Beagles are the best dogs. I’ve had many beagles since growing up till now. I have always been the one my beagles bonded with. Beagles will just sit there and stare at me. My last beagle Max, he basically bit my sister and she tried to put him down, to save him I had to regime him, but this dog would follow me anywhere, he behaved so well for me, I could cut his nails, brush his teeth, it sucked having to regime him, but I couldn’t afford to get a new place at the time.

My beagle snuggled my dad more that anyone but he did do these things with me. Dad was just the person he went to when it was time to wind down. My Buddy dog was born in 2000 and became a part of our family in 2001; I had him from 2001-2017. He was very gray and old, but still very very cute.

The last example has another part to it. By leaning against you, their body weight will shift if you get up and move which allows them to make sure they know when you're on the move again.

My Simon Peabody does all 10 😂 sometimes he too affectionate,to the point of tearing my arms up. I get his nails clipped,he’s SO strong and heavy,not fat , yet but he’s working on it . The cat gets the stuff from the cabinet and he eats it.
