    I just love how there are now words/phrases to define experiences I had in the 70s.

    Another great episode, gentlemen. I knew "catfishing" & "ghosting" but had not heard the other terms but understood their descriptions. I've definitely been in that situation where the person who you esteem greatly doesn't text/DM/comment directly to you but retweets/likes things that you post online. You would give a sibling-dedicated, lifesaving kidney to just get that person to interact with you directly but they don't. Oh, the dating scene is fraught with landmines, obstacles, traps. subterfuge and heartbreaking missiles. The dating war zone is strewn with broken hearts, broken dreams, broken lives. I'm surviving now but would one day hope to be victorious. As a community, as humans, we should try to be kinder and more respectful to one another, in my opinion.

    I'm a boomer therefore I probably figured out 25% of the dating slang. After learning the meaning of the slang it made a lot of sense. Entertaining episode.

    You missed out:
    - ‘dogfishing’ - when a guy has lots of pics of himself with dogs to make him seem more likeable
    - ‘hatfishing’ - when a guy has some form of headwear in all his pics to hide his receding hairline/baldness

    That was fun! Something we need more of these days, I think. Thanks for the laughs ( I was going to put the laughing with the tears emoji but refrained) 😊

    I admit I've had a 'textlationship' for about 8 months, mostly because I just came out as gay last year and don't have much dating experience and assumed a guy that was a few states away would make more of an effort to see me at some point but it never came to pass. I'm ashamed that I let him lead me on in that way but it also taught me more about what online dating is like. I'm realizing that I might never find a partner, but hopefully I'll at least find queer friends at some point. Thank you for the video, definitely puts alot of behaviors into perspective, I had a lot of fun watching!

    I giggled out loud when Keegan called Joel "little bitch" the reason being, is my husband calls me that all the time when we're joking around, or I'm being fussy about something.

    Approx. 6 months ago I deleted all dating apps. Never looked back. Instead I go out more, join meetups, etc.
    But I still got someone from Hinge who knows my number and text me from time to time but never intended to meet me. Funny. 😅

    I have several friends who do phubbing all the time, one of them I actually had do it to me several times at my one on one birthday dinner with them. And yes, I've been submarined. And tbh, I think almost all of these things have happened to me, and I've done a couple. Except anything to dry with using a dating app at all.
    Such a light hearted episode. Oh and I loved the reference to the comedian bungalowed bit.

    Yep, your volume goes down to where I can barely hear you. I sometimes can’t make out the words. Using my iPhone. I can hear every other video fine until I get to this one. You may need to do a sound check before starting the HHH videos.
    Just now, a commercial blasted my ears because I have the volume all the way up straining to hear you guys talk. Is anyone else having this issue or just me.

    Love the vlog but why is the volume always so low, i've great hearing but i'm always straining to hear what you both are talking about. Compared to other podcasts the volume issue is really noticeable, just listened to the Trixie and Katya podcast and it's like night and day.

    What is the difference between catfishing vs taking a picture of yourself in the best possible light? Obviously using multiple filters, overly photoshoping the picture, or using a older or worse someonelses photo is obvious catfishing. What about slightly editing the photo (croping it, adjusting the lighting, frame etc..) though? I mean you don't go to a job interview looking like you just woke up outta bed so why would you do that for dating or hook up app? I've met many guys who look much better in person than there photos would suggest and mostly just because they put next to no effort into it. If they did though I think there self esteem wouldn't be half as low as it was and they would get more matches.

    I was dumped this past weekend. I was not told why or what I did...... After a mutual agreement to get to know each other, we had 4 dates. After that fourth date, I was blocked from the app where we met, and then he spoke to me sparsely via text (with 3 hours intervals) 3 ultra short texts, even though he was at a party. So after that, have not heard from him. He still follows me on instagram but blocked me on the dating app. I am guessing I was' benched'? "ghosted" Lol
    Im so confused by this behavior. It's so useless. Who does that?

    • @orielwiggins2225

    • @artistr1698
      @artistr1698 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you 🙏🏼 I feel sorry too- I have no idea if he was seeing others or not - we were not exclusive - we were just seeing each other. I would have liked if he was forthcoming and direct. I’m a reasonable guy. I’d have understood

    • @orielwiggins2225
      @orielwiggins2225 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@artistr1698 then know it's not you at all, not that that makes it less painful, but it's something in him that makes him not willing to be direct. I've been there and likely will be again. Not fun at all, and for me I need reminders, there's some stuff I'm responsible, and possibly culpable, for and that's not one of them. Best of wishes for you to find the right person who will respect and value you for who you are!

    I’m guilty of a few of these words; they are useful to describe these things happening, but are obscure enough to be confusing to use in everyday conversation.

    Liking photos can be cheating... My ex liked single gay men's photos for years. Swore they were just guys from another country, but they were secretly guys from our city... One of them even made it into our house and the physical cheating commenced.
    It is all about context, but liking is also sending a signal. And he was sending as many signals as he could.

    Interesting new words,as someone who has not been in and is not able to be in a relationship,i don't get why folk need to be rude about not dating any more. Sorry for the comment,if its not good let me know.

    What is so brilliant about you guys is the chemistry between you two! You clearly have strong personalities but bounce off each other and still flirt with each other which is priceless never let that stop 🩷🩷🩷
