    I am not selling Beer mugs, I made only one for myself :/ sorry :(
    Beer mug is made of carefully chosen pallet wood from local forester who makes the pallets by himself of very high quality and not treated like normal pallets you find in big industries, toughened with rope. Every part of mug is hand crafted, carefully combined together in one solid piece, and coated with natural beeswax which waterproof the mug. Mug is extremly tough and durable, medieval viking design, keeps beverages cooler for 2-3 degrees Celsius in period of 40 minutes. To clean just rinse it under the water, almost no maintance at all. Mugs provide very warm, pleasant, avanturistic some would say, fantasy feeling. Excellent for gamers, bars, gatherings, gifts etc.
    Update:
    Since SOOO... many people are complaining of pallet wood for "food projects" please:
    ~DO NOT MAKE MUGS FROM PALLETS YOU FIND ON THE RECONSTRUCTION AREAS, FACTORIES, OIL INDUSTRIES....
    Specifications:
    Material:
    Body: Hand picked high quality beech wood
    Hoops: Natural cotton rope
    Handle: Hand picked high quality beech wood
    Coated with natural beeswax safe for consumation, enviroment, etc.

    Mix some mineral spirits in with the beeswax and buff it onto the wood while still liquid, it'll absorb into the pores of the wood and wont just be a surface waterproofing. I did this with my coffee and dining room tables.

    I made a few of these a couple years ago, and I ended up using a spokeshave to shape the outside. It made a really neat rough appearance on the outside! I like what you did with the cotton rope, that looks really nice. Next time I make one I might have to try that out! Your work is fantastic.

    SWEET DUDE.. You know, you can line up the planks in a row and put a long tape and tape the plank on it... and roll it up to a cylinder shape, and wrap a piece of rope around the cylinder after you glue the sides of the angel cut of the plank, let sit for 24 hour then it is ready to be sanded and work on...
    Bonus tip? Soak the planks in bees wax, cut the sides of the plank, then put tape on it glue the side grooves of the plank roll it together with the bottom piece and your ready to work on after the glue is cured... Now its been soaked, side angled cut glued taped roll it around the bottom piece, wrap it with cord or rope, let it cured... Now it all waterproof and glued together and ready to put the handle on and tool or carved it and so forth...
    Hope this idea can peak your curiosity?

    Hey an epic mug you got there! And really nice chiselling work on the front!
    I got a question concerning the waxing and making it waterproof. Can you tell if the wax ist resistant to sparkling and hot beverages like beer and hot tea because I heard the wax would dissolve from time to time? You pour some kind of beer into the mug, have you made any good or bad experiences?

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dennis, when the mug has been waxed it is used usually for cold beverages and not for hot beverages.
      For hot beverages the mug has metal hoops around and it's been soaked in water for it to expand thus becoming waterproof.
      Probably the wax will dissolve anyways but i am not worried because it`s food safe, and the beer has wonderful honey taste to it.
      Cheers

    Hey mate! VERY cool video and great crafting!
    May I ask what the measures were on the mug? I'd like to make one for my father as a Christmas gift and I would appreciate it a lot if you have or remember the measurements.
    Again, great job and your channel is indeed a work of art.

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much bro :)
      I don`t have measures of the mug but you need to divide the circle to (how many pieces you want) lets say 12 pieces, so when you divide the 360 with 12 you will get an angle 30 degrees and you divide that with 2 and get 15 degrees, so you have 12 pieces of the mug and on each piece you need to have 15 degree angle on both sides so when you connect all of the pieces you will have circle with 12 points, I got 13 pieces because my friend messed up the math so I was adjusting (planing, sanding, fitting, and again)...for 3 hours, so be precise when you get into that project :)
      Have a nice day :3

    • @Russ92
      @Russ92 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Epic Workshop well you gotta tell us the reason in the video because last time I checked other humans can't read your mind. So from when we see we made a conclusion that you need to learn to pour beer. ;)

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Ruslan N I already responded to that question but I will again.
      So in 9 am Saturday (the day of uploading) I needed to record that final shot of me pouring the beer into the mug 🍻
      And since when you pour a beer you want a foam to be over the top to be seen like nice and almost going over the edge (perfect pint)
      BUT!
      In 9 am I am not usually drinking 1 L of beer so I poured only one can of beer from high (0.5 L) to make it more foam-y so I get the same effect like a full beer mug.
      I hope that you now understand why I did it that way 😉
      Have a nice day
      Moris

    What angle did you cut each piece of the mug at on the table saw? or was it eyeballed and then finished with the plane?

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      virgil anderson to be honest, my friend messed-up the mathematics so we got a weird angle and I was planing for whole day...but if you draw the circle on paper of lets say 12 cm and when you separate it to 12 pieces the angle will be 15 degree.
      I hope this helps

    How did figure out what angle to cut the sides? I know hah, prob a noob question!

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a noob question... You divide the circle (360 degrees) you draw by pieces you want to have (12) and then you divide what you got (30) in half and you have an angle (15°) you have to cut the each piece.
      I hope you understand hah because I didn't do it this way, i didn't know it at the time, I drew the mug with rulers super precisely and took the measurements from the paper 😉
