    Seen one and sit on one years ago in a Motorshow. I loved the interior, but also 395 liters of charge capacity on the trunk is the same as a Seat Arona (a SUV) so that is brutally good. And the octavia is on a bigger segment of cars so you should not even compare it. But man even being an average car still looks brilliantly beautiful, and now they have micro hybridation which helps a lot on city restrictions. Brilliant car I'd say.

The VWs (be it seat golf, skoda golf or vw golf) have among the worst petrol engines I've ever driven. I work in a car logistics company and I've driven every single seat of it's lineup (past and current) and drove a few golf and polos as well as T-Rocs that sometimes came by. The diesel engines... meh, I don't really care about them, but at the very least, I can say they are very good. The petrol engines though? Horseshit... a car with 90-100 horsepower that handles and accelerates like it has 60-70... Gear level also pretty mediocre.

      I think the answer is sailing. And a different driving style to get used to. While coasting as you said consumes 0.0l it also slows the car with the engine break. I assume with the decoupled gearbox is like shifting to neutral, nothing slows the car directly, it runs freely like a sailboat, so you can achieve longer distances with no consumption. I suppose that also means that owners of these cars should say goodbye to engine break.

    • @rasputinf
      @rasputinf 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sixaxis222 yes but coasting in gear helps engine to rotate, without using the fuel. but if the engine is decoupled from transmission (neutral) it needs fuel to rotate in idling rpm. so, the question is: how the engine will rotate during this 'sailing' mode? However I have it with the 1.5L Turbo. That being said, this is probably the best value for money car out there, for 17.2k euros that I paid for it, it offers more than a Ford Focus, VW Golf or Skoda Octavia to the point that my only regret is that I didn't get the automatic gearbox and that there isn't a higher trim level here cuz I would've gone for the Executive spec which is the highest spec with all the kit at 20k euros. My only complaint with the car is the manual gearbox, like Matt said, it's really weird with the bite point on the clutch, however you get used to it after a while and it's an amazing car.

    I have a brand new MG HS and thst weirdly don’t have the adaptive cruise control either. It has emergency pedestrian braking or if a collision is about to happen yet don’t keep you a set distance from the vehicle in front. It also has the lane steer assist but it is awful. Tends to forget where the centre of then lane is.

      But the current hyundai I30 is not on sale in SA...They only brought the limited version of the I30 N last year and stopped sales of the normal I30 with that last hideous generation.

      Check, warranty on what. Engine and Geer box. 90% engines will run 7 years. It's a trick.

    Dear @carwow, about the intro, I hate how you covered the car's front with all the (with all due respect to Matt) *irrelevant* * social media!!! Other than that, very good review, as always. Thank you!
    *by now, we all are aware of Matt's social media

    5 annoying things are not really annoying for the users.
    1. Start with Eco mode: that's the default while starting. If you want to change the mode, you can do it by pressing a button. It's same as if yiu restart your smart phone, even it have Fingerprint and Face ID, but still you need to enter the pin first, after you restart your phone.
    2. Flask on the cup holder: you using wrongly, it's not a flask holder. Long bottles like flask and bottles there is place in the doors. This is to keep shorter items like your coffee or other drinks. Who will put a long flask in the cup holder??? Only you do that to show your bullshit annoying things. Means you don't have any real annoying things and you just creating something which don't exist in the real life conditions.

    The radar cruise control is only available with the double clutch transmission.
