It’s actually funny and makes students aware of how they dress and how ridiculous and inappropriate they can look at school.
The parents who are hurt are probably the same ones who let their children come to school like that. The Principal has most likely sent home letters and emails about a dress code that parents paid no attention.
A case of dish it out but can’t take it.

Wearing an ankle monitor is nothing new. One of our teachers wore one and we just all laughed. As a matter of fact he got some high fives for wearing it! 😂

With the exception of wearing the ankle monitor, I see nothing wrong with what was done. The ankle monitor wearing seems like a personal dig at a student's unfortunate choice/s that have landed them in that situation. As far as dressing like the students and wearing bonnets and pajamas, I see it as holding a mirror up so they see their reflection. The old saying goes that "I can show you better than I can tell you." As an educator, I know that I have told students plenty of times that their dress can cause negative thoughts about who they are. We are a first impressions society that begins with how we see people. But we can only see people how they present themselves to us. Parents being outraged is an outrage as they are allowing their students to go out of the home looking and dressing as such but it only is problematic when it is called out by someone outside of the home. They should be glad that the faculty/staff at the high school is taking the time to drive this point home before they get into the real world and face the backlash and judgment that comes with their choice of unprofessional attire.

🤣 u have to have a sense of humor of corse I think there should have been some restrictions on what teachers could wear but I think the media is absolutely ridiculous. The ankle monitor went a little to far but if they showed students what they look like it could used to enlighten them. Either way the attention this is getting is ridiculous. Address it and allow that man to continue the great job he has been doing down there ♥️ he loves those kids.

You do know there are tons of schools that have that same type of spirit day right .. besides the ankle monitor - if it was a white teacher that painted black face or a black teacher that painted white face (If that’s even a thing) then yes, I could understand the backlash. But I can promise you other schools have done the exact same thing. Minus the ankle monitor - that’s wild 😂

they need to take pictures of the student and compare them to the spirit day. The parents probably dress like that themselves. Thats why they were so offended

Leave those teachers alone and especially that awesome Principal! This is precisely why the state of TEXAS has the highest number of teacher vacancies in the country! Educators are looking for fun and creative ways to connect to their students.
Parents are horrible. They were just having fun with the kids. The only ones big mad are the ones whose kids have to wear ankle monitors.

My high school did this for spirit week and the principal was immediately removed. Some teachers wore bonnets on top of the pajama pants and blankets and one even had an ankle monitor 🤦🏽♀️ an employee posted pics on facebook calling the school ghetto.

You've got a good principal and maybey his choices weren't thought through enough but I believe his heart was in the wright place he was just trying to connect with the students and have fun I'm sure thier was no harm intended I think they should let him rain in his school their are alot more serious things going on at other schools like schools not standing up for the kids that are being bullied or for a transgender person using a female locker room during school those educators didn't face any displinary action or even protect the students and their worried about a spirt day come on school board connect with the kids and family's frist that's the only reason you have a job I see that this principal did nothing wrong lighten up spirt day you can still have rules and have fun
